Whats the best location for Fallout 4?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:04 am

One thing that needs to be considered is what is a common place that would be a target for nuclear strike? Some maybe-

New York (city.) Although I'd be utterly sick of it...
Tokyo (if not a place in America.)
Las Vegas (for the mass murder kind of thing.)
Atlantic City (Another mass murder tactic.)

I think that the most fun would be in- you guessed it- DISNEY WORLD! I would love to see Orlando in ruins with a big ol' mickey mouse statue with half its head blown off, you know, the tea cups got corpses in it and the giant epcot globe has been turned into an Enclave hide out... Ah, good stuff. Cinderella castle + brother hood of steal any one? Lol. But of course that would just be that part of the place, the rest of Orlando would be wastelands.

PS. London sounds really good, Paris even.

Imagine this, you are one of the decendents of the U.S. troops that were sent to China (cannon as per fallout bible). You could tie the U.S. 50's theme and a kinda B.O.S. into it. You would probably still be fighting to take out the chinese (a generational quest). The mutants were created by the F.E.V. but that spread at least accross contenental U.S. so it could have been blown to other parts of the world. So you would still have mutants of different kinds and ghouls. Super mutants wouldn't exist since i doubt there would be a way for exposure to pure F.E.V.. But they could be replaced, it would be a really cool game i think set in China. I also love the Canada Idea and there would be great to mix with Alaska Ft. Mcmurray to the coast. The inuit would have survived and gone tribal and you would have some big city's in there from Ft. Mac, Ft. St. Johns, Yellow knife, Whitehorse, Anchoridge, it would be damn awsome too so there you go.

Fallout 4 - Canada Alaska

Fallout 5 - China

I'm gettign a bit fed up at peoples Wishing FO4 to be in china But "again" still be an American.. why not Playing as a Chiense Vault dweller or it equivalent china side or A China Wastelander? Or soldier or whatever? The fully play it on the chiense perspective. Not some descendant of an american "yet" again..that would be impossible, so little westerners in Asdia and anyway during a 3rdworld war? who could possibly survive not being butchered or find a mate? LOL

Europe may be intresting but it would lose a lot of the americana, Europe was a vastly diffrent place to the US, the cost of repairs following the Wars and the accumulated debt ment that a lot of Europe did not have the boom period that the US did. It could be intresting but some of the charm of FO would be lost, but on the upside it would cerainly provide a setting for a much grimmer darker world

Fallout 2 was the midwest and west coast.

Since apparently the east coast is nothing but a wasteland, devoid of anything approaching civilization, I'd recommend Chicago again or something on the West coast. Tactics being set in Chicago means nothing to fallout 4 in terms of 'done that' already. I played Tactics and I lived in Chicago at the time and I don't even recall the link.

You can have a much deeper story when you have real civilization 'city states' and lawless wilderness.

Other countries are pretty much a lousy choice. Fallout is about the Cold War, vault tech, and USA 1950's style. Doing it anywhere else might make a good game but it wouldn't be fallout at all, but 'European post nuclear wasteland aventure #1', sort of what we had with Stalker.

iceland probaly melted down by the heating, a full scale nuculear might have given some global warmth, i also go the low countries where i am living are no more (or atleast Amsterdam will be drowned under water probaly far before 2072) ... But after some reading I wonder why not Russia, they were considerd to be neutral towards America, and America towards Russia, so probaly pockets have survived it and maybe even better than in China or in the US of A , they might even have a better government than the conclave.

Since the flavor of Fallout Tactics is like... fast foward around a decade ahead of all the other Fallouts... AND they use Ring Pulls instead, I kinda think of the Tactics Universe as a seperate one where the Vault Dweller's adventures happened. BOS was forced to defeat the mutants on thier own and developed a plan for getting to the Prime Vault. (plus, it does come in conflict with the existance of the East Coast BOS.)

New York would be good though. They should put in tributes to Escape from New York. Perhaps... Manhatten is a big Enclave Prison system. Heh. Also, New York wouldn't have been hit as hard, since it wouldn't have been a direct target. The city doesn't have any major military installations. It wouldn't have been as big of a target for a foreign military. (this is, of course, up to Bethesda at this point... alternate history and all.) Actually, Philidelphia would have probably been one of the cities hit the hardest, thanks to such a central location.

I can only see the fan base for Eastern Europe, really.

And ICELAND isn't made of ICE. It's not a Glacier, buddy. It's an actual island. Unless you are saying the rock and dirt mysteriously melted there... GAH! insanity!

It's not. It's set between FO1 and FO2.

It doesn't. And the Midwestern BOS from Tactics is referenced in Fallout 3.

Actually, I wasn't talking about WHEN it occurred... but the "Flavor" of the game. It just feels less 40's and more late 50's than the other Fallouts. The music and propaganda. If you STILL don't get it, just... forget it.

Ugh.... really? Thats unfortunate. REALLY unfortunate, actually. So... which ending did Beth officialize for Fallout Tactics in thier story? (since you had two VERY different options at the end of that game, niether of which was "good" or "evil" in a specific sense)

Tactics' differences in flavor have to do with the fact that Interplay starved Microforte of access to Fallout design documents and development cash rather than any intentional design.

Heh. Thats rich. But it doesn't change how I feel. I like Fallout Tactics... as a different take on the Fallout Universe. With combat drivable cars.

I like tactics as well. It's a fine game. I wish Bethesda would continue the spin-off series.

i would like to see either London/Tokyo/Bejing... Or maybe LV with the desert *Wasteland* and small settlements traveling around... maybe bring cars into the game.. although hundreds of years after a bombs fell... none of them would work.... maybe set it in the 5-10 years after the radiation levels were falling.. i dont know all i know is there HAS to be a 4th!

Someplace left unbombed.

And trust me, there has to be one. Not every country in the world is in an alliance.

One technical problem with Fallout 3, by the way: concrete structures wouldn't last unrenovated for 200 years.

They mention the Midwestern BOS as a small detachment in Chicago. "Gone rogue. Long story." Emil said that they consider the higher-level events in Tactics canon, but not its graphical style, lack of retro elements, real-world weapons and anything that contradicts FO1 and 2.

How about Hollywood?
(not sure if it was ever used in the Fallout universe... been long time since comp worked...)

Hollywood, at (around) a film studio would pose a REAL fun playground both for survival and fights... (a classical area/idea)
but this is just an idea for the fun... if you like the idea back it up don't like then i don't care...

now i have shared my opinion...
that was my final say...(untill i stumple across another thread)

i'd like to see a few expansions for fallout 3 that expand the plot and story in the fallout 3 setting and then for fallout 4 head back to the fallout 1 or 2 location to get into the current mix of things there.

i would really like to see more options in number 4, more abilities and freedom (become a merchant, etc)
