Whats the deal with the Crucible ?

I was checking out the crucible and what seems to be a very good feature is ruined by the insainity of the setup...

It appears that every 'area' that you add, you have to have 3 surges! And within theose 3 surges or waves, is about 10 different waves of enemies....!!!!!!!!! Is just way too many... Why the hell would you make a large dungeon when to get past 1 freaking area will take you an hour!!

What I wanted to do was have the first area with a couple of little enemies... the second area with a couple of waves of harder enemies and a third area with say one minotour or something... Is this possible?

Because the way the crucible is set up at the moment - forcing you to have an insane amount of enemies for every area/part of your dungeon is frankly ridiculous.

Also they could have made a little more effort so you could make ineffect your own mini levels... cos all this is a series of arenas...

I haven't messed with Crucible too much, waiting to get thru the main game before I start really digging into it. But, if I'm recalling correct, you can set the waves of enemies to only spawn 1 so in theory 9 is the minimum number of enemies per area? You can tear thru those in a heart beat.

Of course, I may be wrong about the set up.
