Whats the most ghoulish place in Skyrim you been?

Post » Wed Dec 18, 2013 12:35 am

I believe there are quite a few places in Skyrim that most people would consider ghoulish or grim. But what is the most ghoulish place you visited within the Skyrim area...DLC content included. :cold:

I haven't gotten the "ghoulish" feeling from any location.

But out of those, I say me entering Castle Volkihar for the first time and looking at the dinner tables had me saying "Damn".

I'd say the Soul Cairn considering it is a hell of everlasting sorrow for suffering souls of the lost.

I went with Apocrypha, because it has a vile, disgusting, unnatural feel to it.

The Soul Cairn is close, but it just feels depressing more than ghoulish.

Labyrinthian.

I remember the first time Morokei started talking to me...

Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap!

Needless to say, he killed me. Not a little, a lot.

Edit: Never mind, just realized the blue star indicates what I've voted on.

Actually I wonder what is worse, Solitude with Draugr and vampires living under the temple of the divines or Markarth with Falmer and Dwemer machines under the damn city as well?

Both have something under them that if that something got out then . . . *shudders*

At least the Dwemer machines seem to be content with actually staying out of the Markarth portion of the ruins it seems.

Growl, I think I can translate what Morokei said to you that first time he was talking.

Who comes to my dark kingdom?

That line is still creepy in both languages.

Falmer blood elixir?

Ah crap, remind me to have a talk with Brynjolf about sneaking out for a little fun the next time I visit the guild.

Creepy indeed. But the Dragonspeak language always makes it more creepier, because you've no idea what he says D: Unless you're using the online translator.

Ok but please remind me to punish Brynjolf for sneaking out at night, his stockpile of Falmer Blood Elixir is very low and we have not gotten any profits from it, Now I doubt that Haelga's debt was due to not paying up but do to Brynjolf giving the money she gave back for a night . . .

I found Falmer Blood Elixir in her room when I was busy stealing crap from there so I have a good idea where it is going.

My first time in Blackreach... Dayum.

I'd say that the Soul Cairn was too bright to be 'ghoulish', IMO. Kinda reminds me when Frodo first puts the One Ring on. It's really bright and visceral, really in your face. While not scary, you get this overwhelming sense of wrongness.

Ok, how exactly is it a wretched hive of scum and villainy?

Wait, are you a Thalmor supporter? If you are then I have a gift for you but first I need to find him

*looks for Neloth so I can tell him to be snarky around any Thalmor and Thalmor supporter he sees*

Tel Mithrin/Tel Mythrin or however you spell it

My reasoning? Neloth nuff said

and he needs his tea

and the tea needs canis root

oh and don't forget the canis root for the tea or master Neloth won't be happy.

What about http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_A_opcg_BeKs/TIlOtiZSoHI/AAAAAAAABl8/CPBiYrK29DM/s1600/Lancaster+Milk+Stout.jpg? If someone brewed this in Skyrim then it would make Nords rethink that insult :P

But it isn't pure milk.

Also the only character that should be aloud in the hall of Valor without a test would me Neloth IMO, even in the afterlife I can imagine him snarking at everything and being sarcastic.

That said he chose to live in one of the two most dangerous places on Tamriel after Red Mountain blew up. He keeps two Spriggans in his house, live spriggans mind you and he always wants tea. the errands he sends you on usually involve doing something dangerous and his house is a giant friggin mushroom. Yes his house can be just as ghoulish as any other place in Skyrim but the fact that every time you enter the place means you have to deal with his sarcasm and snarky attitude which ironically makes it awesome to go into because 1. it is Neloth who is being sarcastic 2. it is Neloth with the snarky attitude 3. it is friggin Neloth's house and the very fact that the house is ghoulish is exactly what makes it so awesome to go to.

I voted Forgotten Vale because Solstheim was not on the list.

If it were I would have voted Solstheim due to Neloth.
