The most unusual thing I have seen is 3 Super Mutants running near Slog. I really wanted to follow them but I was so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore and I went to bed. I wish I could have seen what they were up to lol.

Near the docks for me... Legendary Glowing Rad Scorpion was wandering around, then I heard a loud "boom" and a roar... the RS was then fighting a Legendary Deathclaw... was interesting to watch.
For me it was a bar out in the middle of nowhere, with nobody around. Like, shouldn't you be in a settlement or city where there are actual people to buy your product?

Oh yea, the bar, when you go there during the daytime, some guy will actually stand behind it and you can barter with him. You can also ask him why he would open a bar in the middle of nowhere. LOL
Swan! Weird, dangerous and interesting creature... LOL

The wasteland is teaming with strange places and encounters - I love it!
Have more than once encountered actors (three of them in every instance) with their heads literally stuck in the ground!? Ferals, and mole rats. They were 'alive' when I shot them they activated and then died.
Watching a Behemoth throw rocks and bellow at the raiders up in the Corvega plant was pretty funny.
Lynn Woods. I wonder what flipping this switch will do? A siren? And hey, where did those Raiders come from? They weren't there when I came through and....what are they shooting at? ....oh crap.
Yeah watching the enemy factions fight each other is pretty entertaining. I recall just sitting on a lawn chair I found on top a building one night and just sitting back and listening to supermutants and raiders fight it out. Every now and then some car would blow up and light up the sky. It was a beautiful thing.
I enjoy coming upon the carnage after those battles. Just last night I found an area where there had been a three way battle between 3 roaming Super Mutants, some encamped Raiders, and a group of named feral ghouls. There were mines, blown up cars, molotov cocktails and at the end of it all, once raider still standing. Finished him off and looted the...mostly chunky remains.
Yeah just happening upon a dead Legendary creature is a nice find. I've found a couple so far that apparently bit off more than they could chew.
One time...I was wandering north near the town of nothing but Handys. And I look over this ridge and I see a super mutant and a settler bare fisting. And then a Deathclaw joins the fray. And both turn and decide to join forces temporarily to take on the deathclaw.
I didn't stick around to watch the outcome, but my money was on the Deathclaw...figured may as well make myself scarce because I was not equipped for Deathclaw at the time.
I went into a parking garage, and I heard "beep....beep....beep" and thought a suicider was lurking. However, much to my surprise, there were mole rats with mines on either side of their chests running around. Some whacked lady decided that it would be fun to do so.
I thought it was rather cute, and I had a "why didn't I think of that?" moment.
A parking garage next to a hospital that someone had obviously spent absolute ages turning into a Riddler-style deathtrap, filled with landmines and tripwires and pressure plates in maze-like junk-walled corridors, interspersed with occasional ghouls for variety.
Rather wasted on my Sneak Rank 4 character - she just walked through the place disarming traps until her inventory was overloaded with components, occasionally watching feral ghouls running obliviously past her until she put them out of their misery. An interesting place, with one area that is particularly seasonal right now, but ultimately disappointing - I only went in there to try and get to the roof looking for an alternative way into the hospital, and when I finally got there it was boarded up.
2 deathclaws duking it out. I didn't think that creatures could attack their own kind.
The endless robot race is another odd one.
ha I've met him and he was not far from a settlement overrun by ghouls so I thought "that's why he's not set up here" after walking over to it.
It was pretty strange seeing some guy and his daughter out in the wastes cooking by a campfire. Considering all the terrible things that exist within a couple hundred feet of any given spot in the wasteland, I can't imagine their odds for survival reach a double digit percentage. I wanted an option to bring them back to a Settlement or at least ask why in the nine hells they'd be out there in the middle of nightmare land.... but all I got was a friendly greeting. Perhaps they were monsters in disguise.
I was amazed at the first vertibird crash I saw. And then it happened again a couple minutes later. And then it has since happened every few minutes during my exploration. I have no clue how the BoS foots that bill. I've amassed quite a bit of free power armor parts out of it though. I really should mod them to be tougher... but the free parts!
The 200 year old ghoul kid in the fridge was pretty awesome.
The robot racetrack was awesome, and then disappointing because you can only murder everyone there.
Placement of skeletons is incredible. All kinds of tragically wondeful stories are told by skeletons.
A Teddy Bear sitting on a toilet with glasses on holding a newspaper.
Teddy Bear placement is just as good as the skeleton placement. I was checking out an out of the way building, not associated with any quests I'm aware of, and managed to worm my way through collapsed sections into a bedroom. There wasn't any loot of value, but there were two teddy bears set up on a shelf with a chessboard and bottle caps in between them as if they were playing.
There was no real reason for anyone to be there, but they still put up a little treat just in case you did.
Eh, it is just that he was out in the wasteland with no one there. It made me think that he did that just to get away from people.
The teddy bears playing checkers...isn't actually all that uncommon. Besidse that one, there's at least two or three others similar locations that I can think of - one of these little dioramas is on a lower shelf in one of the breweries, behind the bar.
I found the parking lot deathmaze too, kind of neat.
i found it unusual that a patrol of the BoS was pinned down by Super Mutants and dying off one by one. The weird thing was no one was shooting or even seemingly upset by me calming standing behind cover and darting out to loot each BoS Soldier as they dropped. After the patrol died i went out to finish off the Super Mutants and bagged two legendaries from it all. i suppose it would be nice of me to return the Holotags to the brotherhood at some point...
I've seen flocks of birds literally hovering in place. Presumably it's a bug.
