Whats the single most important thing you want in Skyrim? II

Post » Sat Sep 25, 2010 2:07 pm

I made the old poll obsolete by catering to the desires of the voters of the last poll by getting rid of the less popular choices. Also large scale battles had a decent amount of votes, but i took that off seeing as how its most likely not gonna be possible on the scale that i was thinking ("epic proportions")... bummer.

I'm definitely the explorer type, so a large, interesting area to explore is key.

Other things that I would like almost as much as this would be new lore, better combat system, and competitive factions. The only thing that hasn't really been confirmed are joinable rival factions.

And I guess I'll just have to wait and see for the interesting locations, as that's just a matter of opinion. From what I've seen so far I doubt I'll be disappointed though. BGS always makes good games.

Some are important but already pretty much confirmed (better combat, better level-scaling, non-psychic guards, better AI). But then of course you could argue the scale of those changes, I know.

But from those features that aren't confirmed or hinted at all yet, most important for me are:

1. Huge landmass (as in Oblivion, not small like Fallout 3 which is my big worry!).

2. Survival mode. I would love it.

3. The amount of lore. I'm afraid there will be less than in MW/OBL.

4. Rival factions. I would love to get it back but I'm betting there will be none.

A decent construction kit, once we have that everything else can be fixed by mods.

My vote goes for engaging and well-written quests. I hope they are as compelling as some of the stories in FNV.

0=Don't Care. X=Want it/Might be interesting to have

0 Guards that aren't omniscient
X Better Combat (Magic and Weapons)
X More Weapons (Crossbows, Spears, etc)
X Levitation
0 Less tolkien-esqu setting (think giant mushrooms and giant flea transporters from Morrowind
0 Transportation services as an alternative to fast travel
0 Better Level Scaling
XXX A Large land mass to explore with a variety of atmospheres, cities, etc.
0 Better character models and graphics in general
X Lore!!!
0 Werewolves/Werebears/Wearboars
0 Better Stealth System
X Better AI (in general, the way NPCs react to you and the enviroment)
0 Better hand to hand combat (kicks, throws, parry & counter)
X More Realistic Physics
X0 Rival political factions which you have to choose between (a la morrowind great houses)
X Better mod creation kit
XXXXX Engaging and well-written Quests
0 Survival mode (you must eat/drink)
X Other (tell us in the forum) = Dialogue that acknowledges that I'm female 100%. I should never be addressed as male. It's a lazy mistake.

ALSO: Quests that don't have logic errors. FANTASTIC and AWESOME Beta-testing before release.

I voted for better level scaling but thats before I really seen the hunge interesting landmass we could explore.

These are two of the problems I want addressed I want level scaling to be done where there is not the highest level creatures running around the world everywhere, it gets very mundane, also there health it seems is extremely high so it take about one hundred to two hundred hits to take down a goblin warlord which is insane its a goblin I mean come on...

I want a huge diverse landscape to explore that feels alien that I dont know whats in the world and there will be something to surprise me, I also want the land to be massive, hopefully the biggest single player game world ever created.

I don't think it should top arena or daggerfall, but yeah bigger than morrowind and oblivion would be ideal.

Engaging and well-written quests gets my vote. In particular, I hope that many quests will have more than one solution. The old Daggerfall formula of "Go to dungeon A and fetch item B and bring it back to me" has gotten quite stale. Give us some choices to make.

Great poll

Mine would be unique weapons if it were listed. By that I mean weapons actually worth dungeon crawling for.
Since it was not listed I chose better level scaling

I would not see the problem if the entire world was deep and rich and interesting it wouyld only add more to explore and add to the overall experiance, at least I would hink that it would.

I would like to see factions politics come back (as in Morrowind where each faction had other factions that they like and hate, and even conflicting quests between enemy factions where you have to choose which one you want to be loyal to). I would also like to see skill level requirements for advancing through the ranks of your factions. This would be my #1 most wanted thing from Morrowind which Oblivion lacked.

I also don't want everything to be scaled to your level like it was in Oblivion. Some epic monsters and unique bosses would be nice. Seeing as we're going to Skyrim, Werewolves seem like a must. More varied weapons (especially ranged weapons, I don't want to just have bows available bring back crossbows, thrown weapons etc.)

I really have high hopes for this game. Morrowind and Oblivion definitely would rank in my top 10 favorite games. I've liked all the previews I've seen, I just hope they can pull all this off for the release date that they set.

True I suppose that would be ideal, but much of the land would be so similar. In Daggerfall, most regions were HUGE, and had a plethora of cities/villages but they all looked the same. There were 3 or four different types of terrain for what seemed like 100 cities. It would be very hard to make all these cities diverse if the map was that big

No matter how good everything else in the game is, if the level-scaling is not fixed compared to oblivion, it will ruin the game for me, untill a mod is a releasd that fixes it.

Looking forward to more lore. Will be interesting if they do it in more varied ways besides books especially considering there will be Dwemer ruins to explore which may have art work on walls and sculptures telling different myths etc.

I want a villan I hate. I didn't care about the super evil bad guys in Oblivion. The Collectors in ME2 were terribly "Lol im gunna kill you" I will be pleased beyond mentioning if we get better writing with a central villain. I hope Alduin isn't one dimensional.

You want to know the #1 way to make fans label your game Cliche? Make your villain super evil for no reason. Thanks. : )

and no physic guards.

Yes but hopefully with hundreds of people on a team or how many ever are working on the landscape they could each formulate all kinds of ideas for drastic changes and if something must be the same take a forrest for example, there is more than one type of forrest and a whole plethora of things and objects not to mention uiique things that could be put in there straight from TES universe. It would take a whole lot but I am just saying it would be awesome in every respect. :celebration:

This poll is too large for a voting system without preferential voting.

I pick other, I want it to have the RAGE engine or Cryengine 3.
