Whats the single most important thing you want in Skyrim?

I chose other but it might go with rival political factions in a way....I'd like to see it to where you can only be apart or 2 or less guilds in one play through. Meaning if your part of the dark brother hood the only other guild you may join is the thieves guild or somthing of that nature. Oblivion upset me by how you could be apart of and become the head master of sorts of every guild in one play through, granted a very long play through. And even though you can say that the DB and the TG were stealthy hence being able to join the other guilds...but hell take for instance if your the grand master of the Mages guild and then you go and join say the Fighters guild you get no recognition as the head of the mages guild and you start out at the bottom of the FG...thought that that was kind of stupid...

Landmass. not tryin to slam on OB but the environments felt identical to me. Whether i was right outside of Anvil or walking to Bruma, the forests, rocks, creatures, etc. were exactly the same! After a month or so of playing i gave up on exploring because it just felt like the same redundant process repeated over and over again. The dungeons were repetitive, after i had explored a few of them it felt like the same thing over and over again. What i want to see from Skyrim is vast winter expanses, towering mountains, wide open plains, lush forests, ancient buildings, rugged coastlines, volcanic wastelands and more. As i explore I want to feel like I am experiencing something new no matter where I go. Also, make the landscape change somewhat depending on the season. ie in fall the leaves would pall on the ground, winter would leave the trees bare, spring would be rainy and summer would have clear skies. I'm not sure how his would be implemented but it's just an idea

I picked Character models. I would love to be able to create a really impressive character that looks good outside of mods. I couldn't really do that with Oblivion, although I did get them to look pretty decent.

As much as I'm looking forward to playing the actual game, I simply cannot wait to get my hands on the Creation Kit. I already have half a dozen Skyrim-specific mod ideas and I would love to see what more I can do in Skyrim than Oblivion from a mod standpoint.

A working game that doesn't need an "unofficial patch".

Well, TES games are so huge and are bound to have bugs, and since they have an editor there's going to be one anyway.

^this. no matter what, it's always gonna have an unofficial patch. just be happy they give the means for users to create their own patch

I voted "better combat", but only because it was the most vague category, and also the one which info I've heard is troubling (finishing moves). Rest of the game seems to be shaping up better than I could have expected.

I'd say from the trailer the game is going in the right direction, but I would love for the writing all around to be improved ....

Most importantly, that it's a PC game and not a ported console game. Perks are neat, but I desperately hope that they remain auxiliary and don't overshadow the actual skills. Perks smell of "achievements", instant gratification for people who will abandon the game in a month anyway, as opposed to slow and steady skill progression - true achievement through hard work. I really hope the "merged" skills are justified by the gameplay, and not made fewer just for its own sake. It's not the people who want a "streamlined" game who still plays it five years after release.

As for more weapons, I actually think 1h/2h skillls can be an improvement over blade/blunt, as it leaves room for spears and polearms to be used under the 2h skill - assuming the combat system allows for various types of attacks, of course, which is likely (in Oblivion, those weapons didn't readily sort under either blunt or blade, and didn't have any natural attack moves either, except possibly certain power attacks). Hell, I had feared that there would be only one melee skill, with perks providing all flavour, so this change can be quite exciting. It really depends on a flexible combat system, then we'll see all sorts of spears and polearms - in mods if nothing else.

Theres a lot of things on this list that I really want to see in Skyrim. Political groups, werewolves and so forth. But out of all these I want to see more weapons. I'm still confused why some were dropped when making Oblivion.

Spears I can kind of understand, with the way animations were in that game they may have not looked right and that could of been an even bigger problem.

But crossbows and thrown weapons? No reason for it. They should have been in there. By not including them ranged characters got shafted, their only option was bow. If thats the case for Skyrim I will be very disappointed.

Well there is one thing I'd really REALLY wouldn't like to happen to me in Skyrim:
Get my face charachteristics change after I've been contracted porphyric hemophilia, and having all the time I spent on making my face wasted.

Bethesda softworks can also implement a long duration post release support program. This game is going to gross 1/2 billion on the low end, so it's not like the money for such a thing will be tight. While it's possible to overlook broken software on release date. There is exactly zero excuse for software that stays broken months, even years, after release and requires the paying customers to fix it. The unofficial patches for Oblivion and Fallout 3 only exist because Bethesda refused to support their product. I guess now is a bad time to bring up the total disaster that is Fallout New Vegas.

I'm not looking for a commitment for a bug/glitch free product on release day. That's not even remotely reasonable. What I'm looking for is a long term commitment to keep fixing the game until it is perfect. If it takes over two years and 10+ patches to get there then so be it. If small Indie Development Studios with 20-30 employees can do this so can Bethesda with their greater resources.

I went with better stealth, although that overlaps with improvements in guards, weapons, and general combat. Giant world to explore would be next, but it wouldn't really be TES without that, now would it?

A Large land mass to explore with a variety of atmospheres, cities, etc.

To expand the lengthy consumed time. Quests pay a factor in the amount of time, also.

I voted better AI but really everything is important to a game of this caliber. Every block needs to be positioned right or the whole wall could come down. I just feel that better AI will go a long way in improving nearly every aspect of the game.
