Whats the single most important thing you want in Skyrim?

Post » Tue Jun 08, 2010 9:40 pm

Other

More brain-bending quests, or tough decisions that one needs to think through. IN other words, make me think more than just tactically. It could be as subtle as the changing kind of note in the Dark Brotherhood quests, or having to think out the ramifications of killing an NPC, joining a guild, etc.

I can't really put my finger on one thing that's a gamebreaker.

When I listen to the podcasts with Todd, he really wants to make the best game possible, so if something gets left out, it's because it wasn't working, not because he didn't want a cool feature in the game. So I guess as long as the game is an improvement on what we've seen and really has a great feel to it, I'll be happy. I take comfort in the fact that Peter Molyneux is not related to this game at all. Peter totally lies about features, whereas sometimes the hype just overtakes things Todd says that can't work in the game.

I voted unique sense of culture because I believe that's why Morrowind is my favorite Elder Scrolls game. Sure, it did have a wider variety of weapons and spells, and Oblivion did feel a bit more watered down, but culture is what nailed it for me. If Skyrim can even come close to half of what I felt in Morrowind's unique and exotic culture, then it's most certainly a winner in my book.

If it was multiple choice, I would take: LYCANTHROPY!, a huge landmass, the NPCs and AIs are a bit more realistic( as people keep putting it, the guards being psychic, is a bit over the top), lastly, quests that are well written, maybe even more than well written but get nominated for awards on their own. But since its not multiple choice, i chose lycanthropy. Werewolves, werebears. Would be awesome

I chose the "Guards that aren't omniscient" option mainly because:

((Entire building is empty))
*Breaks into store*
*Kills shopkeeper*
*Robs store*
*Leaves store*
"ROT YOU CRIMINAL SCUM"
"Wtf how did you know..."

i want npcs to react to me better, it would be cool if you could be friends (real friends, not the creepy smile when you talk to them friends) with anyone and they could go on quests with you and provide input and stuff. and conversations would have depth to them.

i just got sick of feeling isolated in oblivion everytime i went into a town

I think a combination of good AI, quests, sense of culture, combat etc. Hard to say a single most important thing since most depend on eachother. I think the only way to choose a single thing would be a good experience when I play it.

I choose A Large land mass to explore with a variety of atmospheres, cities, etc. I want to loose myself in the game while I'm playing it. I wouldn't deny any of the other options in the poll either.

I'm gonna go with a big landscape to explore, i couldn't get enough on oblivion... looking at imperial city and other castles and villages from the Jerall mountains. Though in Howard's podcast, he said that the setting is pretty much the same size as Oblivion. It kinda made me feel bad, but hey, Oblivion was huge, and skyrim is new i LOVE exploring exploring in oblivion.

But at least ill have more to explore in skyrim, and new stuff to see.

A decent leveling system where I don't need to power level for modifiers and feel cheated when I don't max out my endurance as soon as possible. Seriously, it takes all the fun out of the game when I need to do that.

Other: I want an option to turn off the location markers on the compass for undiscovered lacations. I want to find the next dungeon/cave/tomb on my own and not have the compass point out that there is 2 caves and a tomb right over there. imo this is what made exploration in OB and Fallout less enjoyable.

Vote other,

1. Number of items you can wear back to something close to morrowind, like robes over armour. I don't even care if they make the enchant value less to keep the people who complain about exploits happy, i just want more options.

2. Alternative to Oblivion style fast travel.... not going to happen though.

3. Engaging and well-written Quests

4. More unique findings that aren't part of quests like a unique weapons and items.

5. Rival political factions & some guilds which you have to choose between.

Everything else like, graphics & combat related things would just be gravy if i got those first five things.

Biggest surpise to me is that the whole levitation issue doesn't really bother me anymore, I still would like a dragon shout or a spell that would be a good alternate to levitation, but it's not one of those deal breakers that I had with oblivion. Could it be that I got over it?

I voted for political factions , hope they would make a nice story around that and i hope it will not be auto level scaling , in hated that in oblivion

....and i have to say that i realy enjoyed the movie trailer, very very good music , scenes, cinematics, everything

Oooh difficult! I went for a survival mode, as some of the other options have already been touched upon by interviews and info updates (better combat, sense of culture, better stealth etc.) so I'll take it for granted that they are in already. :)
