Whats with all the assassins?

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:50 pm

I honestly have no idea what I have done to have assassins/thugs/mercs sent after me daily. Sure its funny, especially when its a combination of em all tag teamin with dragons (well not really, it becomes a 3 way death match then... lol) I refuse to join the Dark Brotherhood as well (Im sure Ill eventually find out there locations eventually to remove them...) Anyone have an idea on how I can get this to stop? Hell I'm using a "good" character so there really shouldn't be reasons for having 500 hits sent out after me lol. Although the notes are funny sometimes, ranges from "poor fool" to something along the lines of extreme hatred and caution. I can't even explore in peace anymore :( something is telling me that this is a bug or the game just decided to smash the giant red DO NOT PUSH button and forgot to fix it

Edit: I play on master difficulty, so it really becomes a pain in the --- when I'm engaged with other business.

I hade my fun with my first assasin, I had just found magic sword that causes fear, so the cocky assassin just ended up running and running untill he was dead.

The assassin's if you loot them, you will figure out it is the dark brotherhood. The other ambushes you get from people are contracts they get to kill you.

Yes but obviously somebody is HIRING them to kill you.
I want to know who dammit.
I had my second assassin come at me today.
It was at night time, she came from the bushes. Not cool man, not cool.

It gets to the point where all of it becomes so annoying. Since your every action basically becomes "Well Ill kill these guys by doing so and so" to "Well how can I kill these guys while having enough stamina, health, potions to survive a probably assassination attempt"

Can't leave a town without being stock piled with atleast 100-150 weight-capacity worth of potions :S.

And yes, I do not bother with alch/ench/smith since at the moment it takes away from the experience. Ill leave those task to professional npcs :P

After everything was kick started, I had one such occurance with an assassin jumping from the shadows, then mercs jumping out of the shadows and thugs coming out from behind rocks lol... Luckily for me it was located next to a garrisoned fort to run to. The guards ended up all dying but atleast I managed to get away with maybe 5%-ISH of my health left.

With so many things jumping out at me, it better not be someone who just wants to say hello. :D I've had two assassins so far. I'm wondering who Astrid is and who put out the contract? Evaliir is a good character so I'm sure it's someone who doesn't like all that do-gooder stuff she's doing. They know their number is going to be up at some point.

They're all out of work, just looking for employment.

Tough times, you know.

This usually happens if you steal something, kill someone or generally make someone mad at you.
I've had it happen despite being an overall "good" Argonian in the world. Only thing I've done that could have made someone mad was continually run into people knocking em over.. that and constantly using my force push shout to send someones valuables flying all over the room *cackle*
Now I"m the leader of the Dark Brotherhood myself, seeing as I've played the sneaky dual wield dagger assassian from the get go.

Now I just giggle every time a thief comes up on me while I traverse the roads between towns and threatens me to give him my stuff. Silly Kajiit. Your daggers must be compensating for -something- eh?

Oh boy. :D I'm into many quests right now where I have to make decisions on which way I go and I'm suspicious of everyone already. I don't do the DB or the TG so we'll just have to see how it goes and I hope I make the right decisions.

Good luck with taking them out when u find their lair, I happened to stumble on it and it gives u three choices to a question to pick the answer to go in, if u have not been summoned by then all three answers will b wrong and u can't get In. U have to he recruited to get in

I've not experienced assassins sent after me myself yet. Can anyone confirm or deny that they can also be sent after you if you are in the DB yourself?

I've only had one. An argonian woman with a dagger. Whenever I see someone running at me with their weapon drawn I react immediately. I just slammed my hammer into her snout and then her corpse said, "Ok, ok! I yield! I yield!"

I think I was on Adept?

Yeah tell me about it lol. Few random events I've had happen to me where some guy was running for his life and ran up to with his weapon drawn and I end up power attacking him while he has next to 0 health, just to be thanked a few seconds later after an assassin who resembles some other people that keep trying to kill me.....

Ever encounter a Fugitive trying to escape with a Hunter's bow and try to give it to you only to have him hide and you're left with stolen property? After the Hunter caught up with me we just ran the Fugitive down it was weird.
