Nobody makes original music anymore. As was said from Ratslayer, someone is always ripping of someone else. Then again, they are not saying the song sounds like a Madonna song but that Lady Gaga sounds like Madonna.

This is no Vannlia Ice ripping off a Queen song. This is saying she is not original, she has to sound like Madonna.

If we are going to continue who ripped of whom, Led Zepplin has ripped off a bit of their music from others as well. Funny I don't hear about anyone going off on Led Zeplin now. Then we Black Eyed Peas. Yes alot of their
music has permission to use other peoples music, but where is the OMG they are using other people's music? Also Black Eyed Peas are in court because of some copying issues that they were not given permission to
use as well. Not sure if that has been settled in court but again, where is the Back lash. Only because she is Lady Gaga there is back lash. Or Justin Beiber I guess.

But alot of people do it. Especially in this day and age, hardly anything is not copied or borrowed from someone or something else. Movies, TV shows, game shows, music, books, what is orginal anymore? Even games they
can't make original now. So why Target Lady Gaga? A few posts here explain why pretty well.

Lady Gaga is... I can't even find the right words to describe her. She's an attention [censored]. I hate her music (if it can be even called music). She dresses in extremely horrible outfits.. do you want more?

Well sorry it's true, that's why a lot of people do not like musicians (mainly) and other forms of celebrity. Either because it's popular not to like them, or because they are popular themselves and people are jealous because they don't think that certain person has the talent. That's the way the world works, illogically. She has catchy tunes, might not be the best singer but she can sing (as we've seen from her previous work before she became Lady Gaga), and that's part of the reason she's so big. Teens of this day and age like catchy tunes they can dance to, over music with amazing singing in it..even though they sing to her too. I'm not a big fan of the music personally, but I don't hate it and I think she's pretty cool overall.

I don't hate GaGa, but she's too out there for my aging and stuck in my ways brain. She does have a few songs that I find catchy/fun to tap the toes to, but yeah...I didn't think Madonna was great either, even the first time I saw her videos on MTV...back when MTV was actually about music videos. I'm not into music-spectacle.

I'm not talking about ripping off as "in the style" of Madonna. "Born This Way" is a direct lift melodically of "Respect Yourself". There have been several high profile lawsuits in which the artist had to pay the song's legal owner for its use (Ray Parker with the Ghost Buster's Theme and Men at Work over "A Land Down Under". What Gaga did is even closer to the original song than either of those two were (to my ears anyway). You literally can sing along to "Respect Yourself" when listening to "Born This Way". Copyright Infringement.

Davor, I think I ignored your specific focus of the topic earlier. I could only say if she actually sounds like Madonna, even similar, someone is bound to say so and be critical.
If she sounded like Aretha Franklin, someone would say so.
