This game looks awesome but I was watching a trailer for it and noticed everybody looks like they came from a Pixar Film...

I am noticing more of that. Even though they said it was supposed to be a photogenic game.

Its just a way to make the game look less realistic and more artistic.

It's called hyperrealism, if I recall correctly. It's supposed to make BRINK look more distinct from other shooters.

I kinda like it, actually. It's hard to imagine the masks in an actually realistic form.

its hyper-realism, they exaggerate the features on purpose :P

It's to "bring back color and feature to the greys and browns of modern FPSes".

Not big on that, this game would look so much better with real faces.

I would like to say that not only are the character models and skins amazing, but thank goodness for the end of military based FPS. I mean seriously are we going to just keep playing CoD and BF? Here is a glimpse of the future. . .

"Hey bro Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 12 comes out next Tuesday. You gonna buy it?"

"Nah man I sticking with BATTLEFIELD 14."

I will admit that a buddy of mine said that the aesthetic elements of the game is a turn off to him, even though he is very impressed with the SMART system and whatnot, but for me this game was love at first sight. Cheers!

Well, not everyone wants to see the brown and grey version of Brink, I actually like the idea of hyperrealism. Borderlands helped make itself look different from all the other FPSes because it was more vibrate and colourful. But thats just my thoughts.

It would just look like another generic shooter.

The developers know how to make a game unique.

It definitely looks distinctive. The game has its own visual style.

I've heard from one of the developers (Oliver?) that BRINK's art style is meant to be very distinct. The graphics between one player from Modern Warfare and another from Modern Warfare 2 are close enough to be mistake for another. You look at the generic desert soldier, you could be staring at the player avatar of one of the many majors FPSes. You look at a player avatar on BRINK, you know it's BRINK right off the bat, even if everything is customiable.

To be fair, the first Battlefield came out in 2002, and Battlefield 3 comes out in 2011. Thats 3 games in 9 years; one game every 3 years.

The first Modern Warfare came out in 2009, and the third one is supposed to come out the end of 2011. That's one a year.

So if Modern Warfare 12 ever came out, it would be the year 2020.

At Battlefield's rate, it would only be Battlefield 6.

I'm not counting the Bad Company games, just like I'm not counting World at War or Black Ops.

Yea the first time I saw the faces, I thought they were kind of weird. But the style has since grown on me, and now whenever I see an extremely long face and a gun, I know its Brink :celebration:
Im also very excited that a shooter actually has an interesting story, not some ripoff parody of Redd Dawn- yea we get it, russians are bad people. Im [censored] sick of it

You need to check your facts. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare came out in 2006. That game was pretty long lived. The Guitar Hero-esque decline didn't begin until after MW2.

I disagree. The game would look so much more like CoD or Battlefield with real faces. Maybe I don't want another shooter that looks like CoD or Battlefield. I quite like it. When you see a screenshot from Brink you instantly know without doubt that it is Brink.

You guys trip me out! I said, "Here's a glimpse of the future. . ." I never indicated how far in the future I was just trying to highlight the sarcasm about how we mindlessly keep playing these tired franchises. I mean I prestiged in black ops 12 times before I finally realized I did not like the game. Sad? I think so. . .

Would you like some of my KOOL-AID?

I like the art style. If I want a realistic shooter Ill play battlefield. Which I do quite often actually, but anyways.. BRINK's identity is partially it's over the top art style, and it's done right... imo
