My Bad man No need to be a [censored] bag about it.
I understand that the Changes in the game are a bit drastic but don't you think they could have taken more time in the game and let the game play continue on?

All Fallouts have an ending where the game ends for good (except for 3 where they altered it with DLC). So its not a big deal. There really is not that great of loot at the end anyway. And if you really want it just go in the construction set and add a merchant that sells it to some town.

It's how all the Fallouts have ended. Except for the FO3 dlc.

Also, not searching for existing topics is being a [censored] bag, not the other way around.

Fallout 3 was not the first or only Fallout game that let you continue playing after final showdown, Fallout 2 gave you the option to keep playing after you blew the crap out of the oil rig.

Did you not notice the warning about the game will end if you keep going beyond this point? The game tells you there is no going back after a point in the final quest.

That would require a full-blown sequel. A DLC couldn't cover the changes, let alone an expansion pack.

But it was poorly done in Fallout 2 and was a rushed feature. If I recall, there are a couple of bugs, especially dialogue bugs.

Well you are correct i should have searched for the topic first but i felt like asking the question myself. If you didn't want to answer the question don't read the topic then and respond to it again.

Also i know it tells you that you cant go back after a certain point i just thought it was stupid to have this epic battle with all this loot and nothing you can do with it. Is all I'm saying.

Yeah, but it's not canon, you can contradict your own ending slides, but they slides you saw are still canon. For example, you could kill Marcus right after the Oil Rig, but it would contradict his ending and his New Vegas appearance. Also, every NPC in New Reno breaks the Fourth Wall when you talk to them, from mentioning the developers, to expressing how they hate their role as an addict, a prosttute, or a mafia thug, or even wondering what will happen to them after the game is uninstalled.

What "epic" loot?

Having play after the end would mean alot of work. Pretty much need to make a new Mojave to show the outcomes for each of the four main endings then take into account all the changes made to smaller factions and followers. Or remove the main endings and make the whole game pointless like FO3 did.

sorry. Still my point is there. All that work which comes down to making Four new Mojaves or ruin the game by removing the endings, just so people can run around with that mask?

Itd taken like 2 more years to account for every game end, or they couldve made it stupid and shallow like broken steel did to fo3.

So what if you don't go into the final mission and just play the DLC can you still continue to use the same character that way?

Yes, providing your save is before the point of no return.

A good way to experience the entire game is to follow the main quest until
Spoiler
you reach Vegas and settle up with Benny.

It's okay to make the factions wait for you; they don't mind. After exploring the wastelands and DLCs thoroughly, pick up the main quest where you must choose factions.
It's not perfect, but it works.

(And just ignore the trolls here; they're as self-important and bossy as a bunch of 10 year old girls, but they have their good points, too.

I guess 'trolls' is technically incorrect. I refer to the self-elected moderators, the pedantic experts, the snide commentators, the forum bullies, etc. etc. All those whose actions are motivated by a need to harass, humiliate, mock and instigate. The buttheads, in other words, who really need to gain some perspective and grow up.
I came to this forum under the impression it was a place to relax and have fun talking about games we enjoy. To many members here, it seems the forum exists to stop others from talking about games they enjoy.
It's just irritating and childish, and we are way, way off topic. My apologies.
