Whats wrong with his head?

Just thought his head had some odd shape. Could be just a angle thing.

He's a Nord with greasy long hair who hasn't washed in over a good couple months.

Nah, I don't know. Maybe the hair doesn't have it's own physics, or he's wearing a cowl.

Its prolly a hood maybe..if its hair then i guess skyrim does that same thing that oblivion did and thats items and other body parts are stretched to fit the animation such as crouching...its basically a texture bent and stretched..looks nasty as heck but i guess Its better than stuff clipping into eatchother which would be like the back of ur hair sticking out of ur hood like the hood wasnt even there...

I'm always amazed at how beautiful the textures can be in a game until you look at the player's or NPC hair - I groaned when i saw that screenshot originally - as the hair stood out as low quality compared to the stunning scenery - even with alpha I can't see it looking good - still there's plenty of time for a stylist to turn up before the release date :)

Nope, they presented this in a Trailer, Im not sure if they did it out of pressure again (like Oblivion) or they were confident in it not being an issue, but there is alot wrong with some of the stuff they've shown. I blame fan pressure and people unwilling to sit and shut up for a few months instead of forcing beth to shower everyone with info.

Agreed. There are still 7 MORE MONTHS until the game comes out. Plenty of time for Bethesda to work on some issues. Relax, people...

Hair is one of those things that is notoriously hard to make look natural in 3D. It's long, it's thin, it's lightweight, there are thousands of them on most humanoids. There are hundreds, if not thousands of preferences on how they should and shouldn't look. It changes in the wind, in the rain, in the water, while running, walking, on and on and on.

People get really annoyed with hair, but if you knew how much of a PITA it was, you'd be willing to turn a blind eye to it.

It could be improved, but it's never going to look as good as the other stuff you see in the environment.

Its certianly won't look like the following http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO0XARYk2TM due to limitations, but as long as they look somewhat nice i don't mind i just don't want to choose from 5 (maybe 6) different styles :(

What's wrong with his head?

I could ask the same of you! :P

But seriously, its his hair. Its really odd, rather flatly textured, and apparently attached to his shoulders. Hopefully the hair in the final game appears better.

I'd say it's a combination of the perspective, the characters' position, and the hair, and if you look at his head from a better angle, it will look normal, the face, that is, the hair... not so much, but I think the problems with it have already been discussed to death, now it's just a question of whether they'll be fixed before release or not.

I am more interested in the arrows...If those things are going to be so scarce, what is the point playing an archer?

That depends on what degree of scarceness we're talking about here. I don't think they mean scarce as in so scarce that you're not even willing to use them, just rare enough that you'd want to make sure that your shots count as much as possible, something that I never got in Oblivion, I only ever found myself having too many arrows cluttering up my inventory, not not enough of them. Also, archery supposedly does much more damage now, so it should balance out the fact that arrows are less common.

Different character if you watch it again, and the bows looked to have shamefully covered up the head, but you can see it is a different character in the Trailer due to the Character being a female instead of this character that is most definitely male.
