Whats you longest consecutive playing stretch?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:43 am

On weekends if I don't have any plans, I can go on for 20-30 hours easily, but of course it involves prepping or getting food, smokes, and coke. On weekdays, I'm limited to around 8-10 hours a day. Social life is overrated :D Fridays are usually my "low day" since I'm by then is completely sleep deprived and need to "catch up", but I make up for it on saturday-sunday runs :)

I'm not trying to scare you, nor am I looking for sympathy, but I'm an older gamer and have felt those "pulses" in and around 2003, which led to me having a pulmonary embolism (blood clots in lung[s]) and it turned out that I had a rather large blood clot in my descending aorta, that, in the end, after all kinds of operations and complications that may/not follow, led to me having a below the knee amputation of my right leg. If you are at all serious and have the means for medical care, mention those pulses to the Doctor who might be taking care of you.

Where the hell do you live??? That sounds barbaric.

I had a blood clot in my leg (back of the knee) and part of the clot went to my lungs and it was severely painful. I went to the hospital where they said I had 2 options:

1. They go through the groin and scraqe the vein where the blood clot is and done is done

OR

2. (This is what they did to me) Put me on major blood thinners and stay in bed for several days while the blood passing by the clot breaks it up little by little.

Eventually after the several days they did another ultra sound on the back of my knee and it was gone.

I had to leave my computer behind for a week the day after release, so I bought the game and played for around 28 hours nonstop.

lol. Yeah, it sure does but it was lose the leg, or my life. It was this hot-shot young doctor who decided that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urokinase me would fix me right up. Inadvertently he busted up a blood clot that was rather large and almost lead to my death. Never-the-less 4 other doctors stepped in and tried to clean up the mess which resulted in the B.K.A.

and yeah, I'm on the rat-poison for the rest of my life ;D

I can't imagine having 10+ hours to sit in front of a computer with nothing else to do. That must be [censored] wonderful.

The longes stretch for me is about 4-6 hours but had a small 15-30 min break then did another 3 or 4 hours so about 8-10 hours in one day/nite.

Now I finally got a full time job, my playing time is greatly shortened. I was shocked I got in those 8-10 hours when the wifey was away. :D

Just curious, where does the OP stand?

1st weekend I'm sure I hit over 10 hours in a sitting. That's what weekends are for. :)

Spent right above 10h+ straight last Saturday. I'm not doing that again. :)

Had to stop myself and come on here and write again. Just logged off from an 8h "skyrim shift". Could have been longer, but one can only postpone dinner for that long.. :disguise:

This weekend I could try A) Get the final few achievements I need to 1000/1000 the game before 11-12-11. Or B) I could try and catch up on all the homework I have been putting off since 11-11-11. :spotted owl:
Oh the choices...

Don't know how some of you guys can do 10 plus.

It's easy. Wake up at 10 am. Play until 1am. Repeat. I did that for the first 3 days it was out. Though, I've backed off now to maybe 2-6 hours a day.

I have some half day and full day sessions on this game.

However, my GF has this pesky idea that I should spend time with her in the evenings, so I can only play for about an hour or two most evenings.

I admit it...my longest consecutive stretch was 12 hours...paused but didn't exit the game to make a sandwich for lunch...then kept playing. *walks away in shame*

If you don't count food and bio breaks then then on a day off when I've cleared my schedule and don't have anything else to do it can literally be from the time I get up to the time I go to bed.

Sadly that doesn't happen often but I think I've managed at least one day like that over Thanksgiving.

If you account for breaks (snacks, bathroom, wiki) on the release weekend, I played from 11 am to 6 am on Friday-Saturday. Then I did the same thing on Saturday-Sunday.

I plan to play non-stop from 5pm to 7am on New Years for my 2011-2012 game marathon. I call it: The Skyrim Sky-to-Sky Marathon.

Last year was the Morrow-thon: Morrowind non-stop from 7pm to 7am.

These have no breaks, no stopping, can only pause to save/open inventory.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BladderOfSteel describes my marathons quite well.

Yes, I just linked you to TV Tropes. I am evil.
