Whats your couriers song?

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 6:16 am

Bad Company, Five Finger Death Punch

A company, always on the run.
A destiny, on the rising sun.
I was born, a shotgun in my hand.
Behind the gun, I'll make my final stand.

Man I love that, first time I heard that song I immediately thought of my main character in NV. :)

Great choice in music Apex, I love Five Finger Death Punch's version of Bad Company.

Blue Moon- I love this song

But thinking a little outside the box:

I personally love 50's music, and considering any courier is an unusually hard worker http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xiZuC8rsuk :D I love this version of Heigh Ho.

Also Barracuda by Heart, it's like a BA, my chick is going to kill you song! Rawr :hubbahubba:

You're welcome, I like them quite a bit as well. Though I've been listening to a lot of 70's and 80's Rock lately.

Painkiller by Judas Priest. Fits my power-armor wearing, tri-beam laser rifle wielding, good karma character nicely. Although I believe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSJ8rDlBZ_I would be an excellent song for the Battle at Hoover Dam, at least for NCR, House or independent.

Something flamenco jazz-like, maybe a ballad by Paco De Lucia.

Pink Floyd works, too.

:3 Wow to your Legion song. That's...I'm surprised at how deep it is. I wanted to take select pieces from the lyrics...but it's like everything applies! :disguise:

Tough choice, but I reckon I'd have to go with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4S6d84Z7eo, by the Highwaymen: Jennings, Kristofferson, Cash and Nelson. Beautiful song, very introspective. I usually play without companions too, so it fits that loner theme. And finally, it covers cowboys, Hoover Dam and spaceships (the Bright Followers' great journey) and one of the singers voices Chief Hanlon.

As a follower of House, I would say El Paso. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgI5DMVegIk I changed the lyrics around today so it would work for my Mr.House playthrough. I think it works out well, atleast I think so.

Out in the Nevada town of New Vegas
I fell in love with a Brotherhood girl.
Night-time would find me in Gomorrah's cantina;
Music would play and New Vegas would whirl.

Blacker than night were the eyes of Veronica,
Wicked and evil while casting a spell.
My love was deep for this Nevadan City;
I was in love but in vain, I could tell.

One night a wild young ranger came in,
Wild as the Shady Sands wind.
Dashing and daring,
A drink he was sharing
With wicked New Vegas,
The girl that I loved.

So in anger I

Challenged his right for the love of this city.
Down went his hand for the gun that he wore.
My challenge was answered in less than a heart-beat;
The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor.

Just for a moment I stood there in silence,
Shocked by the FOUL EVIL deed I had done.
Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there;
I had but one chance and that was to run.

Out through the back door of Gomorrah's I ran,
Out where the horses were tied.
I caught a good one.
It looked like it could run.
Up on its back
And away I did ride,

Just as fast as I

Could from the Nevadan town of New Vegas
Out to the bad-lands of Goodsprings.

Back in New Vegas my life would be worthless.
Everything's gone in life; nothing is left.
It's been so long since I've seen the young city
My love is stronger than my fear of death.

I saddled up and away I did go,
Riding alone in the dark.
Maybe tomorrow
A bullet may find me.
Tonight nothing's worse than this
Pain in my heart.

And at last here I

Am on the hill overlooking New Vegas;
I can see Gomorrah's cantina below.
My love is strong and it pushes me onward.
Down off the hill to New Vegas I go.

Off to my right I see five mounted rangers;
Off to my left ride a dozen or more.
Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me.
I have to make it to Gomorrah's back door.

Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel
A deep burning pain in my side.
Though I am trying
To stay in the saddle,
I'm getting weary,
Unable to ride.

But my love for

New Vegas is strong and I rise where I've fallen,
Though I am weary I can't stop to rest.
I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle.
I feel the bullet go deep in my chest.

From out of nowhere Victor has found me,
Cradling my cheek as he kneels by my side.
Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for,
One little wink and New Vegas, good-bye.

Excellent work there. Really good stuff. I was a fan of Marty Robbins long before this game came out. I think they should have put his ,or at least a, version of Cool Water in this game.

I rather like that one that starts out with "Through the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day." Always makes me put on my desperado cowboy hat when I hear it.
