Whats your current PC specs?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:25 pm

OS: Win7 64-bit
Processor: AMD Athlon II X2 250 (~3.0GHz)
RAM: 4 GB DDR3
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5450
Monitor: 23 inches w/ display @ 1920 x 1080
Hard drive: 500 GB

Potential Upgrades

- I'd like to get a very good PSU for my birthday. I am unsure how good my PSU is right now but I expect it to be standard.
- Given I get a PSU, I want to get a Nvidia GTX 580. If I am unable to turn up the cash fast enough before Skyrim comes out, I'll get a GTX 480 or 470 (super clocked).
- And if for some reason I still have cash left, it's time for me to get more RAM. :)

Phenom 955
Radeon 5830
4 Gigs DDR 2 1066

Might crossfire 5830 but I don't think it will push computers build in the last couple of years very hard.

I just built my current rig like a month ago, and I'm pretty sure the only thing I'll upgrade is my gpu closer to when Skyrim comes out.

i7 950 CPU
EVGA 460 GTX
6 Gigs of DDR3 Ram (Supposed to be 8, but one stick isn't being recognized.. Need to look into fixing that.)

My Motherboard and power supply are good enough for SLI, so depending on what's out and how much things cost by the time Skyrim is closer to being out, I'm probably gonna run two high end cards in SLI and I should be good to go for quite a while.

CPU: AMD Phenom II 720 (unlocked and OC'd to 3.2GHz)
Mobo: GA-MA785GM-US2H
RAM: 4 GB DDR2. I forget the clock speed.
GPU: GTX 470
HDD: 2 x 1TB.
Monitor: Some four year old 17 inch Philips monitor.

Hopefully this can run Skyrim at some decently high setting.

Definitely gonna get a new monitor, probably in the 22-24 inch range. Might get a SLI compatible AM3 motherboard & 4 or 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM, depending on prices at the time.

I am on a core 2 quad 2.5 GHz processor, 9800 GT, 6 GB of DDR2, and 650 GB hard drive. I am saving up to build myself a new gaming desktop but first I need a laptop/tablet for school.

My specs are
ASUS G60
i5
4gig RAM
GForce 360M 1 gig dedicated

Figuring that it should run Skyrim at at least medium.

No plans on updating for the game...hoping this computer will last 6 years like the old laptop (that is still running as well! )

Im currently running a quad core AMD CPU on Windows 7 Home Edition. 4 gb of RAM, and a Nvidia Geforece 8800 GTS. Most games run really good on it, with a bit of stuttering here and there.

I think i will upgrade to either Crossfire or SLI GPU's, and perhaps double the RAM and move to a 64-bit OS

19' TFT-VGA Monitor.

Planned:

AMD Phenom II x6 1090T 3,2 Ghz, or a superior Intel CPU that has the same prize (if avaliable).
8 - 16 Gbs RAM.
nVIDIA Geforce GTX 580 in a motherboard with at least 2x SLI support, in case I want to add a second one.
24' TFT-HDMI/DVI Monitor.

Athlon64 X2 4600 2.40Ghz
2GB DDR2
GeForce 8600GT 512Mb
Windows 7 32bit

I plan to upgrade my GPU to Geforce 9800GT 1Gb or better (depending on budget) and 4Gb of RAM, and if after buying skyrim I still have the remaining money, I will upgrade the processors and PSU...

I pretty much think that Core 2 Quad,4GB ram and GTX 295 will be enough to run the game at "a-little-above-middle" settings.Oblivion was released for PS3 which was ahead of computer that time,so it was "hardware hungry" (and poorly optimized),but Skyrim will be released for PS3 as well so I'm not expecting it to require the ultimate PC of our time.(ignoring optimization quality of course)

Asus P7P55D-E PRO
Intel® Core™ i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.7GHz (watercooled)
6GB Corsair DDR3
EVGA GTX 470
24" Widescreen Flatpanel (an old Dell model, it's getting time to replace this)
Corsair CSSD-F60GB2 ATA Device (OS and a few other things)
ST31000520AS ATA Device (storage drive)
Creative PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series Sound Card
Win7 64-bit. Unfortunately, I got Home Premium. D'oh! I need to upgrade this to Pro at some point.

I'll probably add another larger SSD drive for games at some point (I have Steam installed on my SSD, the load times are extremely brief). At some point I will probably add another GTX 470, or wait until the 500 series gets into full swing. A new monitor would be a safe bet as well, this one is starting to show it's age. Maybe something in the 28"-32" range.

Mobo: Asus Crosshair IV Formula
CPU: AMD Phenom x4 955 @ 3.2 (Might try OCing again soon)
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw Series 8GB DDR3 1600
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6870
OS: Win7 x64
Monitor: 22" Samsung @ 1650x1080

Wanted:
27" 1080p Monitor
Maybe a new CPU if I can afford it.

I'm really not worried about this game putting much of a dent into my system. Anything I'll add will be just because I want to and can afford it.

Core i3 530
2x 2 GB DRR3-1333
Radeon 4830
Windows 7 x64

Going to upgrade the GPU but that's about it, unless I get my hands on cheap RAM (I'd need a 4 GB one, it's a shame they almost exlusiveley sell those in kits).

uhmmm...I've just now realized SSD drives...are the loading times really that fast?

Fortunately, I've never needed too much disk space, and I already have an 250 GB HD...so I've been thinking of buying a 40 GB SSD (93 €) to install the OS and some games there (Skyrim amongst them), and salvage the old 250 for more general purposes. What do you think?

It's still a bit expensive, IMO.... :(

My current PC :
CPU - AMD Phenom II x4 2.6 ghz
GPU - radeon 4870 1GB
RAM - 4GB extra low latency DDR3 RAM
OS - Vista 64bit

Using a 30" 2560x1600 Samsung monitor ATM, AA is not noticeable at this res so I turn it off.... resulting in MUCH higher framerates.

I doubt I will upgrade anything until it burns out.

Windows 7 64 bit

Intel i7 CPU Q720 1.60 GHz

8gb of DDR3 RAM

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 /w 1gb Graphics

Not sure what I'll be able to pull, but hopefully high, maybe medium in some parts.

MB: Asus M4A79-T DELUXE DDR3
RAM: Corsair 4GB (2x2048MB) 1333MHz XMS3

Will upg. with 4 more Gigs of RAM soon, and a new GPU before Skyrim is released.

System: HP dv9800 series laptop
CPU: 2.5ghz 6mb chase core 2 duo
GPU: fried 8600m gs currently disabled and only running on standard vga drivers(graphical artifacts galore) -_-
RAM: 4gb
Vista 64bit

How will Skyrim affect upgrades? Well I'll be building a desktop specifically for gaming(mostly Skyrim) and retire the lappy from gaming.
I can't say for sure what the specs will be but here's a good estimate:
CPU: i5 760(will possibly overclock it a bit)
GPU: dual nvidia GPUs(haven't decided the type I'll wait to see what the best of the best is at the time)
RAM: 6-8gb(although usually I'll likely not use more than 4gb)
Windows 7
Not sure about PSU or cooling yet, but it'll be awhile before I build it so things may change.

Yes, they are, and it significantly cuts your windows boot/shutdown/application load times.

Depending on the type of apps you run, in most cases, upgrading to SSD has a more noticeable effect for everyday computer use than, say upgrading RAM beyond 4GB, or upgrading the CPU. Not all SSDs are equal however, there should be better prices closer to the end of the year.
