Whats your deal breaker?

Post » Tue Aug 02, 2011 4:26 pm

So I've been hearing some stuff like people worrying about things that ruin the game. For example a just looked at a thread right before I started this one saying, "are dragons going to ruin the experience? Will a pack of 4 fly through the town of Riverwood and destroy everyone in the settlement, and make it immpossible to sleep at an inn, buy stuff, learn spells?" I understand this persons concern. This thread is to discuss things that would completely ruin the game for you and if it were implemented, you would probably not buy the game.

Nothing will stop me from buying this game day 1, midnight launch, and playing and loving thousands of hours out of it.

No multiple enchantment effects
No negative enchantment effects

A spell list that isn't up to par.

I read somewhere that they actually prevented too many dragons from piling up on each other. I think TWO can happen, but any more than that is extremely unlikely.

I don't believe in "Deal Breakers" except for one exception. If they returned to the way Morrowind fighting was handled... But I think its OB's fighting just evolved, so I'm not too worried.

Also, for people who claim something they haven't even experienced yet to ruin a game, is pretty ludicrous. I mean, what if Dragons literally make the game even better than OB was, or whatever!

I think all in all, its goign to be great. Anyone who complains is A. Not an RPG fan, so they don't really get it/enjoy it. OR B. They want to sound hipster/controversial by claiming it svcks and that Morrowind is still the best. I don't doubt that people's favorite game can still be MW but it gets annoying quick when people play it for like, one hour, and then find one annoyance, and decide right there the game svcks and a waste of 60 dollars.

They pretty much had me sold at TES:V....

Call me a really devoted fan (forgot phanboy is censored), I don't really care. TES games are in a league of their own. Any issues I have with Skyrim will most likely be minimal. (barring any massive bugs come release day)

That being said, I don't see why people complain about complaning on a forums dedicated to a single game.(not you OP) Wouldn't you be flattered if, as a developer, your fans are making 5 threads a day about something as minor as crossbows etc? It means they're doing something right.

The only deal breaker for me would be no more open sandbox.

And that's not gonna happen.

This^
Thankfully, that's not happening, and Todd doesn't really like JRPGs if anyone says it could happen.

If Alduin turned out to be a newborn baby dragon the size of a rabbit with potent magic and an appetite for rocks... consume all of Tamriel? Not likely.

Dude, you are my new best friend lol. I'm pre-ordering Skyrim either way, infact next time I'm in town I'm stopping by gamestop to put down the other $50 that I need to pay them. The main reason I started this topic is that us forumers are running out of things to talk about. I'm going to be glad though because this month Skyrim will be at 3 different game conventions which means more info :D

This. If TES went to "anime", I may be bummed and cash out on it. No offense to our hard working modders, but I just do not have a thing about anime mods, and even I think thats just a bit unrealistic. Again, no offense, I just don't like seeing pictures on TES Nexus of a regular NPC talking or a creature fighting with a PC that looks like hes from Final Fantasy. And for the third time, no offence, Im sorry

The addition of guns, in my face homosixuality, dragon's murdering quest givers, one more skill being taken away, races starting out the same with the same attributes skills, and the game being too easy (without mods!!!).

It would've been if the leveling/scaling system was the same as in Oblivion. As that is not the case at this point I plan on getting the game.

:D Woot I have a friend!

I moved recently, and I need to get a new Xbox. I think I'm literally getting an Xbox just because I want to play Skyrim. I know I could play it on the new computer I may be getting very soon, but something about playing it on a 360 is like... my dream lol.

Also because I played Mortal Kombat (the latest one) at my Brothers house, and I got wicked good in like, thirty minutes. Plus its fun as hell.

They simplifie, streamline, dumb down, make it accessible, remove confusion etc (whatever you want to call it) to the point where it annoys me more than I enjoy it. Thats when I'll stop playing TES.

Maybe if the game forced you to be an Alfiq Khajiit with no cool things to do like jump on things. If you could jump on tables then I would buy it.

edit - Honestly, I will buy anything Bethesda makes simply because I am loyal and know that what ever they make, its the game "they want to play." And I know that the guys at Bethesda have very similar taste in games as me, if only because its the game they want to play.

I don't have a deal breaker. If the game's great, I'll buy it to play it. If it's okay, I'll buy it (out of a bargain bin) just to check it out. If it's terrible, I'll buy it just so I can see first-hand just how terrible it is.

Deal breaker will be no mod tools or linear gameplay. If they combine any more armor pieces that might do it in for me as well.

No werewolves=no sale.

Sorry, but I need to be a supernatural predator that's violent and dark. I don't care what, Lich, vampire or werewolf. If either is added, I will buy the game. But if I am forced to run around as a Dragon-born coughing up dragon shouts in the frigid Skyrim..then no thanks.
