Whats your DPI?

Post » Sat Mar 29, 2014 4:41 pm

Using the G700s Mouse I can set my DPI from 200 to 8200. I currently use 1200 but thinking about increasing it to maybe 1400 or 1600.

My question is for others using gaming Mice, what do you set your DPI too?

Additionally do you see there being any use to DPI shifting/cycling between more than one setting in ESO? Not like I will be doing much precision sniping.

I run at 2700 with acceleration at 4/10

EDIT: using Razer Naga 2014. <3 those extra thumb buttons

Oh, I'm using a 42" TV @ 1920 x 1080.. so I don't have to lift my mouse at all to get the mouse from one end to the other. My DPI on a smaller screen would result in a jumpier mouse so it really just depends on your display.

1000

acceleration 1/3

I don't see any use for shifting DPI. I never used it in any game.

2700 is pretty snappy trying it now.

Is Accelreation = Report Rate?

2500 is fine at my resolution, 10/10 acceleration ... basically had it set to this forever and don't bother changing it. As far as the game goes it is complete overkill anyway. It's a tab game basically.

I also use a steelseries mouse pad for smooth as glass movement (because it is made out of glass!).

I think acceleration is just the rate at which the mouse accelerates from stationary to the full DPI it is set to.

4000 DPI at 250 polling rate on a 2560x1440 monitor. Works great.

Wheel Mouse Optical, 400 dpi, greatest tournamnt fps mouse ever made. When Quake and CS pro's prefer a mouse from 2002 over all other mice, that should tell you something.

Low dpi is best for fps games.

I use 2500 with max polling rate. Could be why the g700s battery life is terrible.

Except the battery life is TERRIBLE. I mean, REALLY TERRIBLE. I can blow through the battery in 6-8 hours. It forces me to use it in wired mode most of the time.

Ive never seen a mouse that goes through batteries like this thing. Other than that, its fantastic.

wireless adds to dpc latency. You think it's sweet but in effect its causing your cpu to "hang out" waiting. Wireless is the number #1 fault maker for internal latency.

Not only does a wireless mouse add a ton on "input" latency its adds internal DPC latency as well. check your latency with this tool straight from the developer. http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml

If you are under 100 consistently you're set. If you spike in any way past 250+ you will feel that in game as the hitchies.

As far as your logitech g700s, it's best run at 1000 dpi which is native to the mouse sensor. Software interpolates + or - of the 3 native resolutions for the S line. I have a g100s, its a fantastic fps mouse except for dpi interpolation. If it was a fixed 400-500 dpi mouse it would be used in tournaments.

2400 with the polling rate at 1000.

G700s FTW!

I keep it wired though.

Currently mouse is set on 2500 DPI. Could go to 3600, but don't see the point as it goes too fast for me.......

p.s. What's the acceleration people are talking 'bout? No idea whatsoever.....
