so whats your favorite race in skyrim?

Khajiits for sure. Don't know why redguards are so far down on the list, I love the Arabian Nights vibe.

EDIT: Oh, and Dunmer are my second choice.

Where's the bosmer love y'all?
my main character is a wood elf, but just started playing a khajiit, and enjoying it very much
I think there are overall way too many Nords in this game and way too few beast races.
I almost never come across khajiit or argonians (and wood elves)
I kinda miss the multicultural feeling I had in Oblivion

The character designers in this iteration of the series have done such a damn good job I can't choose :(

In Morrowind I always went Imperial, Redguard, Orc or Dunmer, then in Oblivion beast races looked a bit lame and Orcs looked too shiny so it was human races or Dunmer.

Now in Skyrim I've started out with an Imperial for my ranger character, now have a Breton Mage, Khajiit Thief, Orc Barbarian and a Redguard and Argonian I haven't really used yet, then making a Dunmer Vampire Assassin and a Nord for the Naked Nord Challenge.

The only races I probably won't use for a long time, if at all are Altmer and Bosmer.

Basically Imperial - I always choose imperials on the first playthrough because I like the idea of being some cultivated explorer out on the wastes.

Closely followed by Dark Elves because of Morrowind, their affinity to magic and the ancestor ghost guardian (Is that in the game, anyway?)

Bretons are and always have been my favorite race. Kinda hard to explain why really. I feel like they're the most mysterious human race. We really don't know that much about them. And they're the only human races that has a natural affinity for magic. I think they and High Rock remind me of Celtic places and culture for some reason, which I find really alluring and interesting.

Gotta admit, even as a straight dude I can appreciate how much better male Redguards look compared to just about every other in-game race. Really makes up for how horrible they looked in Oblivion. But yeah, Redguards are my favorite race for both aesthetic and lore-based reasons.

Argonians are top?
Urgh reptiles. (:P)
It used to be Imperials but in keeping with the Viking setting I'm swinging towards Nords although they seem a little bit dumb in Oblivion.
I never like the character models for Orcs in the previous game but Beth. hit the nail on the head this time. The character models are just... awesome. Exactly what you'd expect of an Orc.
Definitely will be playing as one of the Orsimer on this one.

I've always been a big fan of the Dunmer, and Skyrim is no exception. Even though I sorely miss the gravelly Dark Elf voice from Morrowind, somehow I still feel the most comfortable playing a Dark Elf myself, or whenever I meet a Dark Elven character in the world (Brand-Shei is one of my favorite NPCs, by the way).

However, the Khajiit of Skyrim also made an impression on me. I feel their voices have regained some of that quirky charm from before Oblivion, where I felt they had very little to be fond of. And to add to my list of favorite NPCs from my favorite races, I just love Ri'saad. He probably surpasses M'aiq and Ra'virr in my ladder of favorite Khajiit characters.

All Races are great and it is difficult to pick a favourite!
But for Skyrim, I would say Nords
Because they are "The true Sons and Daughters of Skyrim!"

really? facepalm.
there isnt a way to change the username is there?

Small typo corrections like that one may be possible if you PM a moderator.

and it does feel a little weird to play khajiit also because the other khajiit dont recognize you as a fellow khajiit

Indeed. Hopefully it's just a bug in race recognizing not functioning in the dialogue logic, otherwise seems a pretty silly oversight since others do recognize and react to khajiits.

And Khajiit for me too. It's quite rare to have human/animal hybrid race as playable. NWN had the Rakshasa tiger men, but they were just another (dangerous) enemy (no clue what the lore tells of them ). Don't especially care for Argonains, though, lizards i don't especially like (nor hate).

I love almost all of them actually. I love Khajiits and Argonians they're both really badass races. I love Nords because they fufill the role of those Great, Aryan, Viking type characters. I love Orcs in this game cause of how they look and they have a really beast racial ability, not to mention, if you play around with the create-a-character menu long enough you can have an Orc that resembles to Kratos from GoW. I like Imperials, Dunmer and Altmer. I would like Elves more if most of them weren't so damn snobby. I'm not too crazy about Bretons and Bosmer though and I don't know about Red Guards. I've made alot of Bretons, but nothing really stuck out about them, they just seem like that generic mage class/race. And for me, Bosmer have kind of always been the odd-man(or in this case, race)-out. If I want to make a thief, which is really what their race is catered to, I can just be a Dark Elf, Khajiit, or Argonian.

Not surprised that altmer are joint bottom, never a popular race and cant see them gaining many friends thanks to the thalmor, but surprised that redguard are joint bottom with them.

From Markarth to Riftne, Grand Prix . . . oh . . . you meant ethnic race.

I can't say I have a favorite. I tend to start the TES games with Nords, and then move onto other races. I currently have my main character as a Nord, and have since started a Kajitt, a Dunmer, an Orc, and a Bosmer. Orc is I think only level 2. Dunmer is level 12. Nord is level 40.

I vote Nord, because I've always chosen Nord as my main character. They are just as awesome now as they have been in the last games. However, I would like an honorable mention for the Khajiit and Argonians, as they look absolutely awesome this time around. In fact, I have finally made my first Khajiit in a TES game. I just wish these two races had a little more of a presence, but due to the setting it is understandable to see so few.

The three elf races are my favorite and I always play as one. But as for NCPs and such I really love all of the races. They all bring so much diversity and fun to the game world. I have to admit that the Khajiit have really won my heart this time around. I always visit their caravans whenever I see them.

I never thought I'd say this: Khajiit.

I've never, ever liked beast races in a game before.

Now I just have to track down a better body/face mod for him ...

The plastic fur is the only thing that's slightly disappointing about the race.

argonains, they are the most trust-worthy race, they look great, they are the strongest race (or have the strongest army, either or), they are usually smart, they are hard to know but will die for a friend, and they are not jackasses to anyone (im looking at you dunmer)
