Whats your stratagies

Post » Tue Mar 24, 2009 10:13 pm

i have been playing Crysis 2 for a while and have a pretty good stratagy and have gotten at least 1000 kills overall but i want to hear sme of yours and try them out to see if they work better and if you guys want to try out mine here it is i normally use visor inhance to see my enemies and then cloak and navagate behind them uncloak and then shoot (uncloaking before you shoot saves energy for something such as armor and also you dont have a white flash that appears when you shoot while cloaked so you dont loose the guy your shooting at) anyway after ive uncloaked i open fire and when i get into a dog fight i activate armor and if ive been taking heavy damage ill cloak and run and then hide (i have a high level power and stealth so this may not be possible for some of you)

Well, this strategy works well for me: What you do is join any instant action match, try not to die, while getting kills.

It's a lot harder than it sounds.

Team Instant Action

As the name suggests try and go in with a few buddies. One person in the team hanging back and tagging enemies will help the team (especially on large maps like Lighthouse). A fast melee class is very effective in this game if you are good at CQC. I find generally the best modules are Energy Enhance, Stealth Enhance & either Mobility Enhance or Retriever. Basically modules which leave you with lots of energy before or after a gunfight.

I usually run one of Feline or Scarab, always with extended mags to make sure of the kill, or to snag an unexpected double. Always move in Stealth unless you are certain there is no one around, and switch to Armour before engaging an enemy. If you see a bad guy is in stealth don't worry about being accurate, as just one bullet will leave him uncloaked and a sitting duck.

If someone gets the jump on you then you can try Halo hopping, or use the power jump to get on top of obstacles while cloaked to gain the advantage in the fight. I find it really hard to track moving enemies up close when aiming down the sight, so if you can strafe slightly while under fire, it might be just enough to put him off and miss enough shots to run out of ammo. If you are really close and you have enough energy, then quickly switch to Armour and double melee.

Crash Site

For Crash Site it really helps if you know all the drop locations. If its a tight game and it comes down to the last drop and you know exactly where it is going to land (or you can play the odds), it gives you a big advantage. Teammates who earn 400 crash site points and go 1-10 are more useful then the guy who goes 20-2 with 0 CS points. I have started using flashbangs on offense and they are very useful when you are taking on 2-3 guys in the drop zone by yourself.

When you are in the territory I generally use Stealth as the extra couple of seconds are priceless in either getting the drop on attackers or prevent the enemy scoring points. Always get ready to switch to Armour straight away if a nade lands within 7 meters or an enemy enters the territory. Try and manage your energy as best you can, if there are no enemies around then take the chance to let your energy recharge or your Armour will be very low. A smart attacker wait a few seconds before entering the territory so he can attack with a full energy meter.

Useful modules for CS are Detonation Delay, Cloak Tracker & Mobility Enhance, they help you get to the site quicker, identify enemies faster and stay alive longer when you are in the territory.

Me on crash i just fire loads of explosives from my one class demoman=]. Grendel+grenade launcher puts crash site under heavy fire+JAW rocket+l-tag. If i feel like defending i use my defender class with scar+marshall and energy transfer useful for armour mode try doing this!

+1

Great Advice.

I like the idea of using Cloak Tracker. I never use it because I prefer SE III but haven't used it since the demo so will try it out tonight.

I was thinking about doing a comprehensive guide for new players might look into it this week.

Capture The Relay...

Capture Loadout for me is:

Feline (reflex/suppressor/hologram)
Machine Pistol
Flashbang

Proximity Alarm
Stealth Enhance
Mobility Enhance

Strategy:
Find your favorite path to use to capture the teams relay. Take your time going from cover to cover. As you get closer push a hologram down towards their relay site, hang back and watch the hilarity insue as any defenders give away their posistion and use up amo as you come up behind and take them out. Push forward closer to the relay rinse and repeat. Once within range of the relay stealth up and move around, your proximity alarm will let you know if anyone is near the site. Once you are sure the site is clear, let your enery build up and capture the relay and run run run run run. If you encounter fire juke and jig best you can and stealth up. The big kill emblem over your head will give an indication where you are but it can give you the valuable seconds it may take for someone to save your arse.

This strategy works well for me today on lighthouse I threw a hologram down the middle of the map about halfway to their relay in the lighthouse side ruins and lo and behold four enemies popped out to kindly give away their posistion and I stealthed two, filled one with a two thirds of a clip of ammo, put the last third plus a few shots from my pistol and boom relentless. Also I grabbed the relay and made it two third of the way back before I got tagged and shot up. Luckily a teammate was there to grab the relay and finish the job.

Only thing I change of protection detail is to use a scarab with red dot and extended mag. everything else the same. Once I have C4 I will make use of it by placing it on the relay site and BOOM when someone grabs a relay.

Anyways those are my strategies for capture the relay. I have come up with those after maybe 50 games of capture the relay and I have 25 MVP awards And I am just a casual gamer. Heck I have been playing since release and haven't hit 50 yet.

My strategy has changed completely the past couple weeks.

I'll break it down though...

First I start looking for a match. I wait a few seconds for it to throw me into a lobby with the option to vote for one of the two maps I'm still allowed to play (Skyline and Terminal)...I don't really remember the other ones anymore. I wait for the countdown and then get kicked out when then countdown reaches 1 second. I then watch as it throws me into another match, but not after splitting up me and whoever i was partied up with, and then I'm stuck in the loading screen till I can exit and rejoin my friends. I stay long enough to get a kill or two but find that unenjoyable since it's one of the only two maps I ever get to play and everyone except the host has 1 to 2 bars. So I leave...I join my friends again, and we start the matchmaking process over.

Then we do everything I just said five or six times until we give up and go play a different game.

As far as an in-game strategy? Well whatever anyone's is at this point is irrelevant simply because if they ever decide to fix this unplayable game, it will become a completely different experience for everyone and the entire game will change, rending whatever strategy you might have had worked out in need of some revisions.

I'd like to develop a strategy someday.
I'm in the top 400 on the kills leaderboard with a 2.5 k/d ratio but I still have a bad taste in my mouth.
I spend more time in Skyline and Terminal than anything...that or the lobby. Once I do find a match, everyone's connections are all over the place and nothing I do achieves any satisfaction because I'm aware that it's not an even playing field.

If it isn't patched they won't be receiving my money for DLC and my next strategy will be to sell the game on Ebay.
