When all is said and done will you guys buy ESO at launch?

Post » Fri Feb 28, 2014 1:31 pm

Considering what has been seen so far "yes I am fully aware its still in beta" will you guys buy this title at launch? I personally pre-ordered the Imperial version and before I had even seen any gameplay and was still high on the hype train had to take a step back and take a second look at the price tag. I'ts definitely not a cheap game and while I fully support p2p I cant help but feel a little apprehensive about following through on the pre-order. With the recent beta access I found myself completely immersed, no doubt its a beautiful game but it wasn't until after it had ended and I didn't have the world of Tamriel to distract myself with that I began to feel the doubt set in. In the hours I had managed to sink in not once did I feel like I was really engaged in the multiplayer aspect of the game. It is after all an MMO but the multiplayer element just didn't seem to work at the end of the day, short of having several people running to and from the same place you were and finding that locked chest just before you could get your hands on it. I felt pretty alone in my adventures. This is what's troubling me most, with the heavy price tag and although agreeably above average subscription I just don't see myself paying so much for something I'm ultimately unsure about. Its not even the subscription fees when it comes to the money side of things, the game itself costs twice the amount of a new release and while some little bonuses here and there is good and all i cant help but feel that it is very overpriced with only one month being free... So again I ask with the price tag, what we've seen so far in terms of gameplay and multiplayer, do you feel at this stage you will still be buying or pre-ordering the game on release? At this minute in time I have to say I'm considering having my deposit changed into store credit in wait for another title and I don't doubt that will be the outcome if this weekends beta doesn't sway some of my doubts.

The interaction part between other players becomes more active during dungeons, PvP, guilds, etc.

I hope they make it easier to chat with people. The chatbox in the corner can get spammy.

No, I cancelled my preorder, I will watch it for a bit and see how things progress, I feel like the game is set up for failure though.

It is overpriced at launch, but if you know your way and find a good discount you can get it for significantly less and then it becomes worth it :)

people group up when there is a cause... group dungeon, quest progression, pvp, guild and etc.. we barely had time for any of that in a beta and we only played 15levels of content which is nothing.

I made up my mind to purchase the game along time ago, after I learned about the core game, no regrets, looking forward to game I can play where my toon feels like it lives in the world and not just passing through the world. I pre-puchased the Imperial Edition..

I wouldn't buy it if I had second thoughts. Request a refund... YMMV as usual...

without question before they revealed that you can craft armors in different racial styles my answer would have merely been yes but after that I have to buy it because that sounds awesome.

I can understand some people feeling apprehensive about the lack of connection between players in the game, i have observed the same.

With that said, i have faith that any glaring issues with player interaction will be ironed out after release. Anything they cannot fix can probably be remedied with a mod.

10 years ago I paid the box price + 15 a month for WoW. Why would I balk at paying the same price for ESO now? $15 a month is nothing.

Not sure why people fell the need to make threads like this. So what you don't feel like playing, it sounds like this is not the game for you. Majority of all MMO are like this when you start, you don't have friends yet or a guild so you run around by yourself, but given time you will find people and a guild to hang with and the game will be good. With that said it doesn't matter if you play at release or later on this issue will still be the same. You cant expect them go hand you everything in the game you gotta put in some work too. As far as price i don't see how it cost any more than other new releases, though with coupons and stuff you can pick it up for cheaper on some sites, don't usually see that on pre-orders.

Same, though before that it was AO box plus sub then eventually 5 AO accounts with subs, then several SWG boxes with sub when it released. Some of us are just hardcoe mmorpg players. Wasn't really interested in ESO much but i got a beta weekend invite and thought id try it, was hooked right away.
