I understand where you're coming from.
I'm getting to the point more and more that I can't fathom buying it on release day at all
I know. Yet I can handle the other things that might disappear. Spell creation is different though. Even after 100s of hours I find I come back to experimentation with Spell [...and Enchantments and Alchemy], it is one of the more intricate parts of the game. I have to say I like that sense I get that there is a Morrowind-esque turn in the depth of the application of culture and lore. If it is even close to Morrowind in this regard, then I have to recognize that it is easily worth paying full price for. Yet, if there is no spell creation... that is a big problem. I can't let that go. At the very least, I have to buy it on sale, because it sends the wrong message for future games. I mean, sure you spent a lot of time with making spells unique Bethesda, but next time you guys are having a brain storming session on the next game and you get to the part where someone says something to the effect of "I can make this look fantastic, but we might lose this or that gameplay mechanic."
...just stop them right there and pretend it never happened.
Because if you don't do that, then I feel forced to hold off on my purchase lest I appear to be rewarding you for doing something stupid.
