So... When can we expect the 'dlc loading error' bug to be p

they should compensate us for this crap with some free DLCs!!! lol probably not but hey thats what id do as a "sorry guys dont hate us anymore have some free stuff!!!" kinda move

I totally agree, they should deff give us some free stuff if not dlc then some cool items or ATLEAST get our old files back which i think is most important.

Wow so if the bug fix does not work on already corrupted saves, I get to repeat 26 hours of play. I don't know if I have it in me. What a waste of a good game.

I don't know who the community manager is for this game, but I'm curious as to how small the group is that's being affected by this bug. I wouldn't expect Bethedsa to provide us with anything to compensate for this bug. It probably isn't in their best financial interests, plus they may not have a way of verifying who was affected and who wasn't. It's a shame that games are delivered to consumers with bugs this major. I used to work for a game company and we delivered a game that had seriously flawed multiplayer. We released it anyway, and people [censored]ed and the game tanked. Bethesda doesn't have to worry about the Fallout series, but this type of flaw will certainly make a lot of people angry. What to do, what to do?

In all honesty, I think would should try/let this company tank. I don't care how harsh I seem, or closed minded I sound, but this is bs. IF YOU CAN'T DO IT RIGHT, DON'T DO IT AT ALL.

I think you're all being harsh... I do not care if I have to start again.

I love Fallout, and I love Bethesda's RPGs, and I don't think refusing to play a game I have already purchased is not beneficial to my enjoyment, and it also isn't going to send a message to anyone.

Let the bitterness cool off, go back and play with a bit more knowledge of the game, and enjoy what will hopefully be a somewhat buggy game but with stable save files.

I hope it comes soon.

Does anyone else find it amusing that NOW they're concerned with testing they're products (patches) and as a result the patch to fix this huge f up is still a ways out?

What about before it ever hit store shelves?

Easy DLC gift to say they are sorry:

The Apologist

A low end gun that makes enemies run away without damage when you shoot them, takes them "weeks" to come back.

hey i love the game just as much as the next person, i had over 100 hours clocked on oblivion and i was planning on doing the same with fallout NV but replayng all the annoying and hard quests that i battled through in the begginning just seems like a huge headache right now. so what ever ill re buy this game when i know for sure they have cleaned everything up.

if the the saves cannot be fixed then i guess i'll eventually come to replaying well restarting my game which is about 16 hrs in AS LONG AS THEY FIX THE ISSUE CAUSING THIS CRAP. I refuss to touch that game again until it is fixed, and with the experience from fallout new vegas and fallout 3 I will no longer get a fallout game as soon as it comes out. I'll be sure to wait a few months so any of these major issues that the company might run into are fixed by the time I have it. Though the part that really makes me mad is that they must know what causes the DLC error if they've fixed it and are just wait for the patch to be approved AND THEY STILL REFUSE TO TELL US ANYTHING TO AVOID IT!!! :swear:

My biggest issue with this game is not the fact it needs a patch but its the number of issues that need to be patched. How did this unfinished product make it to store shelves in the condition its in? Were was the beta testing?

To the devs:

In the future please do not release an unfinished product. Your custumers are not your game testers. The product we purchase at the store should have minimal if any issues not have issues to the extent NV has.

Now since everyone who purchased this game at launch IS essentially a game tester (not on your payroll) a more thorough explanation of what is being fixed and when it will be released is in order. The answers we have received thus far have been too vague. BTW I play on console not PC.

End Rant.

Greetings fellow New Vegas fans!

I too have had this happen to me - both before the first update and after, 3-4 times in all.. I cant load from 2 of my saves and an autosave meaning I have to go back some 10 hours, all the way back to Black Mountain when I was just starting to make some headway (I have had to go back 2 hours here, 4 hours there too and just hoped this would be fixed by now). In all seriousness, how could this have not been noticed? I mean I am a good game breaker, I can spot bugs like nobodies business but this is a VERY common problem, its not anything speacial and out of the ordinary; I don't understand how the game could justifiably been relaeased in this state.. As many have already said, I LOVE the game - it is awesome! But wether it was Microsoft being pushy with release schedules or Obsidian/Bethesda being over eager to please and MEET those schedules, an extra month in development would have gone a long way (and this is a game based on a pre-existing engine too - not to put the programmers down too much).

Anyway, PLEASE get this bug fixed and also, save our saves! S.O.S!!!

above all else i have a feeling this was more of Obsidians fault. I cant stand that game company they screwed up that one star wars game and Alpha Protocal was a huge let down for me. And I thought i read or heard from somewhere this game was completed in a year? If someone could clarify this for me I be very thankful cause i cannot see a game the scope of New Vegas being finished properly within a year.

If they don't compensate with free DLC, I will lose respect for obsidian and bethesda. I lost 3 characters to this "bug", more like a gargantuan tarantula.

It's attitudes like this that allow publishers to push out products that haven't been adequately tested. Buggy products that annoy the hell out of people shouldn't be something we tolerate. I wish that quality was as valued as meeting one's deadline.

That being said, up until I encountered this bug, I thought the game was fantastic. I think they cleaned up some things from Fallout 3 that just weren't quite great. For example, the way you interact with your companions in New Vegas is greatly improved.

So where was everyone when the bug hit? I read someone else mention that they had just got some C4, and then the bug hit. I was inside the armory at vault 34, which is where I first saw C4, and that is where the game craps out for me. 26 hours in, and it's exactly when I step foot in the armory that the saves stop working. Luckily I have one save that is just outside the armory that seems to be good, so I think I'll only have 3 hours or so to replay, providing the patch can work with good saves. If I was sure that the armory or something I pick up in the armory was the problem, I'd gladly play around it. Where were you when the bug kicked in?

I do think the game is great. Except for the bug that means I can't play it anymore.

I agree with this guy they shouldnt be allowed to get off free without giving us something in return to compensate. I mean bethesdas great and everything and i like their games but serious ur leaving everyone who bought ur crapped up game in the dark. Its a simple marketing concept called loyalty which they obviously dont understand. Enough people have told me that they arent getting anymore games with there name on it cause "they're nothing but money hungry bums like Infinity Ward..." (my friend said that, same dlc error crap happened to him and about 10 other people i know). I really do hope bethesda can get their stuff together before they get labeled "The next Infinity Ward".

We posted this here -- we're looking at having a fix in the coming weeks on 360 -- it has to go through testing and certification first.

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1125221-please-read-from-the-teams-at-obsidian-and-bethesda/

The patch has to go through rigorous testing and certification...not the actual game though... Can't have that, other wise all the people who preordered the game would have time to cancel their orders and get something else until this game is actually finished.

I totally agree with a previous comment S.O.S ( save our saves ) , I like most others want to know if once the patch has been released ( whenever that may be , come on administrators give us a little more to go on than the comming weeks ) will the corrupt DLC saves be useable. If not I will have to redo 13 hours of gameplay. Even though I think this game is fantastic the thought of having to battle my way through Black Mountain again leaves me wanting to extract my teeth with a pair of rusty pliers.

The people thanking bethesda/obsidian for patching this mockery of a finished game has to be smoking some serious gear. It's the least they could do, and it's going to be a good long while until i buy another of their games. This is exactly the reason why people just stick to piracy, when the product they buy don't warrant the price paid at all.

Customers are the prime value in this busines, and handling the prime value like bethesda/obsidian has done in this matter should reap consequences.

All my thanks and appreciation for finishing the game in your own sweet time, "weeks" (or a better spin on a month or so?) after I bought it, reminds me of the time I bought a car and they forgot to put any airbags in it, the save didn't work all that well then either.

or do what i did and to to EB games and trade the game for Blacks Ops and never buy a Fallout game again because releasing the game before it is completely finished shows every fan and user of the game series serious disrespect

Too bad nothing will change as long as people are holding on to the game while hoping there is a fix coming along..and i doubt the next few patches will fix all the bugs. The only thing that will make beth do better business in the future is a lighter bank account. If more people took the game back and waited until it was fixed to buy it again then we might get some more action out of this "Has been" developer. I loved every other game but this is game is so broken. If your expecting anything to change while they are still making gobs and gobs of money then you are sorely mistaken.
