When can I play Skyrim on PS4Xbox One?

Post » Tue Sep 02, 2014 3:44 pm

Between PlayStation Now, and remasters, this has to be feasible. Because of the whole ESO thing, it'll be a decade before we get another true Elder Scrolls game. Just give me Skyrim until then, please.

What's with all these kinds of threads lately... it isn't gonna happen, it will be a waste of time and resources on Bethesda's part.

it has nothing to do with ESO, all TES games are like that lol

but no, you can not play it on the PS4.. dig out your old PS3/XBOX360, or log into your Steam account.. there you go, you can now commence playing Skyrim

EDIT:

and all from people with no prior posting history no less....

When?
When Sony realizes that backwards-compatibility is what everyone wants.

And the team that works on ESO is not the same team that makes the main TES games. ESO shouldn't delay the next TES title.

No, but Fallout 4 might. Hopefully.

It won't be a decade before we see the next TES title. It will be between 2015 and 2017 most likely.

Just buy Skyrim on Steam when it's on sale. You don't need an expensive gaming PC to run it on low settings, which is effectively the same as consoles.

As far as we know, Bethesda is done with Skyrim. You can get it on PC if you really want some cool stuff. Oh, and these kinds of topics pop up pretty much every week.

This one was from last week. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1506302-skyrim-for-ps4/

And other from August: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1506546-skyrim-on-ps4-xbox-one/#entry23749139

Sadly, not going to happen. Bethesda isnt really in the interest of re-releases or HD remakes, which is sad since I would love to see a recreation of Morrowind on the gamebyro of modern days instead of the absolutely weird engine we had back then. Well, theres always OpenMW and the various graphic extenders, but its very hard to see a world made in 2002 as being that alive anymore with all of the fancy 2011 tech we had in Skyrim.

Next-gen Bethesda will probably blow your socks off with Fallout 4 and TES VI though. Just give it some time, Bethesda takes a long time to build the masterpieces they put out, and although I dislike the secrecy around their new projects I have no doubt that whatever province TES VI is set in will be as absolutely amazing as a walk through the autumn forests of The Rift or a harsh blizzard on the snowy peaks of the north.

not gonna happen, this has been brought up pretty much every 3 days..

Bethesda is done with Skyrim, they will not release it for the XBox-ONE or the PS4.. if you want to play it, plug in your old Xbox 360 or PS3, or alternatively open up your Steam account on your PC to get the added benefit of mods

(somewhat offtopic, anyone notice everytime one of these threads pop up its from someone with 0 posting history? not saying thats a bad thing, more member on this forum the better... but considering they never seem to join any other discussions, I would not be surprised if they were all from the same person or small group of people)

just to be clear, i was not talking about you specifically, its just a habit I have noticed on many different forums... some people will make multiple accounts to post the same thing to make it seem there is a higher demand (however, an Admin could easily tell they are the same person thanks to the wonder of IP adresses).. not saying you are one of those people, but i do have a feeling some of those types of people come on these forums from time to time..

why do you call ESO broken? sure it has its issues, but compared to a lot of the MMOs out there these days it pretty good..
granted, I quit after a few weeks, but i wouldn't call it broken

well, i'm not one of those people, i just had to know 1st hand what was up. i was compelled to do so.

eso may not be "broken" as far as some busted games are concerned, but it's too broken for a console port imo, similar to dayz.

i think it'll just be a shlock fest. (i'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, though)

any news on whether or not there's going to be a subscription fee on the console version? (i've heard there will be, and i've heard there won't be. which is it? has bethesda said?)

I don't understand why people try to circumvent the autocensor. it's there for a reason, obviously the admins don't want that everywhere.

Also, ESO has improved massively since release. Don't complain about what you don't know.

on topic: Bethesda don't 'need' to remaster Skyrim (It already looks great as it is), and they probably won't.

autocensors are made to be circumvented... youmad?

nobody said anything about a remaster, a simple port would do, but i wouldn't be opposed to a remastered edition. really, anything would suffice at this point.

also, it's pretty common knowledge that ESO is a steamy pile of rubbish; it's only marginally better than it was when it was 1st released, and still isn't good enough for a console port IMO. we'll see what happens.

Have you even played it recently?

Yes, the game had problems at release. Bugs, bots, etc.

But:

1) A load of bugfixes have fixed many issues

2) Bots are nearly extinct. Haven't seen one for months.

3) Balanciung is always a WIP

4) Lots of new content is added on a regular basis

Take a look around and see the community of players that enjoy the game. Ask them how it is nowadays.

i have, and while it isn't terrible by any standard, it isn't worth the subscription, not by a long shot (sadly). again, just my opinion. i know more ppl who have quit and moved on from eso than ppl who still play lol.

i hope, for bethesda's sake, that there isn't going to be subscription for the console version. i'll ask again, is there any word from bethesda in this regard? i'm not versed in the topic.

You're entitled to your opinion, of course.

There is a sub for console, and Sony has kindly dropped the PS+ requirement for ESO.

Unfortunately, Miscro$oft refused to drop their XBOX Gold requirement, so XB1 players will need to have that.

The issue with console not having a sub is that people expect ZOS to deliver lots of content, bugfixes etc on a regular basis, just like they do now but with the additional work of porting it over. How will they do that without money?

are you seriously implying that console games have to retain some level of quality PC games don't?

No, they are not. Circumventing the autocensor is a warnable (and bannable) offense.

The word you want is opinion, not knowledge.
