When can I upload gameplay on YT without getting strikes?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 6:18 pm

I got my hands on an early copy of Fallout, also uploaded some gameplay on Youtube but it got taken down 2 hours later by Zenimax Studios. Does anyone know the exact time when the uploading restrictions will be lifted? Thanks.

Streams are allowed at 8am tomorrow I think. So I'd chance it then. If not, then ask for forgiveness.

But if you are not a popular streamer, or youtuber, I wouldn't risk it. They probably have a list of authorized channels.

I think you have to wait until the 10th and likely based on the Eastern Time Zone in the States. I think the 9th is only for reviews to be made and not for streaming the game.

So you mean...6 more hours. Are you a 100% sure about that?

On a side-note, thanks to everyone for the quick responses! :goodjob:

Just assume that by 'time', we mean the time zone that exists for the eastern shore of the United States. IE, when the people at Bethesda wake up, have their morning joe and tell the world they can now upload their things.

The embargo is lifted on the 9th EST, thus allowing gameplay to be shown in reviews. Thus it is my assumption that all gameplay can be shown on youtube after that point.

Though this is not 100% confirmed it is the closest we have to confirmation.

Good luck :)

Is Bethesda actually gonna let us know? If so, via what? Twitter?

Thanks, buddy. I humbly request you to let me know about the confirmed timings in case Bethesda or Zenimax Studios provide an official update about it.

It'd be nice if Zenimax was clear on it's policies for once.

That is without posting the OMFG long Terms of Service, NDA, ANNNND legal disclamers all into one page.

I mean seriously! Just give us the spark notes!

I've always wondered, how are games streamed from ccnsoles? Is there some kind of special box connected to the console? I cannot imagine being able to buy something like that from my local Target.

Or maybe the console is hooked up to the computer somehow?

It's best to wait until after the official release date. If you try to stream or release videos beforehand you are just likely to have your videos removed and potentially get your account suspended.

Here is the logical answer -

If you are a reviewer with a review copy and permission from Zenimax/Bethasad you can stream content once the review is lifted.

If you just got a copy early, then you can stream content after the official release date.

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

One of the review sites said the Embargo was lifted at 7 AM EST on the 9th. They were grousing about that being 4 AM PST, when they would post their review.
