When did you start lurking?

Post » Tue Sep 21, 2010 5:37 am

I started lurking sometime around late 2003. I ended up making an account way back then too, asking about some barrow in Bloodmoon that I couldn't find (NOT the Puzzle Box, I never had trouble with that honestly). :P

Joined because I wanted to learn modding for Morrowind. I think. Been semi-lurking here for over a year I guess.

Its fun watching all of you people go about your daily lives here on the forums. My life ain't too interesting :vaultboy:

I started lurking a few days before I joined... I came because of the bleeping Dwemer box.

I don't remember when exactly, but I did come here from time to time to check out mods for morrowind. I didn't come often though thanks to dial-up and it was easier to just go direcly to the sites that host mods. I did come back to lurk when I heard of oblivion and then decided to join.

I lurked about 2 months maybe?

I had two reasons why I started lurking around here. One was Oblivion; I still consider this my favorite game of all time. I just love everything about the game no matter how many people say something is worse then it was in morrowind. It brought me here, but didn't really keep me interested in the forums because I didn't really care what people had to say about the game. haha Second, and probably the main reason I lurked here, is because since I had already played through Oblivion twice, and I was really hoping there might be some talk about the next elder scrolls game on here. I finally joined when there was a tiny bit of information that the next Elder Scrolls game would be called shadow relm. I stayed and I think replied maybe three or four different topics about it, but then found out that shadow relm was only a lie. What brought me back to the forums was some kid on youtube saying that there was new information on the next elder scrolls game. I came back and there wasn't any. So that made me finally think that there wasn't going to be any more elder scrolls games. Then... I saw the announcement trailer...

I started lurking back in '04 for a few months, created an account, forgot the password after a while, and created this one. Nowadays I lurk most of the time again. Probably until a few weeks after 11-11-11, then I get an urge to increase my postcount again...

I actually had already joined under a different username in April '06, and had made nearly as many posts with that username as I currently have with this one. But I had actually started lurking a year and a half prior to that, in the days where Oblivion didn't yet exist in public consciousness. I spend a decent amount of time scouting a forum to see whether it's worth my time to actually post in it - I just spent longer than usual with this one because I had little of value to input myself at first.

I lurked for about an hour on the New Vegas forums then I joined and started some speculation threads.

Originally around the end of 2006, when I felt the need to complain about something (start as you mean to go on, and all that). More recently after a long hiatus, a couple of days ago. Why? Because, that's why.

I lurked for almost year before I joined, mostly for just FO3 stuff. Didn't even know what Bethesda really was back then. Then got into oblivion, finally joined for F:NV speculation.

This is my actually the first and only internet forum I've ever joined.

Well I joined the day I found this place. I remember reading a bunch of threads about what time Zeta would be available to buy. The banter was amazing.

I then forgot about this place.

The New Vegas teaser brought me back. I then lurked for months just reading stuff.

I lurked around Fallout 3's release. But I came back when information on New Vegas was beginning to be released and joined.

At about 03' if you can believe that, my brother was lurking here and every time I had a question about Morrowind he'd have the answer so eventually I asked him where he gets all the info, and then he told me about these forums and I lurked here until 07' when I finally decided to have an account of my own :P

I registered once I found Morrowind forums, back when that section had a new post every 2 minutes. I had another account though.

I started lurking when I first heard rumours of a next TES game. Joined when the furore happened which turned out to be the next DA announcement (IIRC). Turns out this place is pretty cool and I never really left.

I went on here once with a question about something in Oblivion a few years before I registered. It turned out someone had the same question and I didn't have to register. I didn't lurk much then though, I left after I resolved my question. I started lurking again around two months before I registered, looking for news on Fallout 3 and decided to join.

I never lurked before joining. I had a question for Oblivion, Googled "Oblivion forums," and that came up with this. I registered for my question and never left.

I've only recently started lurking. :P

i signed up to ask an oblivion question, or maybe it was fallout three? i don't really remember but i didn't really lurk before i signed up. I stayed around because of the fan fiction section, i wish i had the attention span to write a story to go into it, also the community disscussion has some funny news posts, and i learn something new to cook every time there is a food topic lol

Exact same story for me, PM and all. Just switch in "Red Dead Redemption Forums" for Giant Bomb and "Left" in place of banned. :P

I may have lurked during E3 when they showed off FO3. Don't really remember. Made an account to just talk about Fallout.
