When did you start to play Oblivion?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 1:23 pm

In April 2006 just when my new PC arrived. I was extremely hyped and it met all my expectations and overtook Morrowind as my favorite game of all time.

After thoroughly enjoying Morrowind, I bought Oblivion shortly after its release and been playing since.

I love Fallout and when I saw Skyrim I was excited. I wanted to get a bit of knowledge about TES before jumping into Skyrim so I rented Oblivion from Gamefly a few weeks ago. Though initially I wasn't liking it, I soon came to settle in and am now plugging along. There are quite a few bugs and such but overall it's pretty fun. These Bethesda games sure do make me wish I had a computer suitable for gaming though. :brokencomputer:

I went out and bought a new video card for the game, but it still ran like crap on my machine. Eventually, I gave up. I've waited until just a couple weeks ago to build a new PC, and I'm starting to play the game the way I had always wanted: everything maxed out. I'm not even using any mods, just having a blast.

They keep making them, I'll keep buying them. Heck, I think I've bought 3-4 copies of Oblivion, alone. Must have as many of Morrowind, too.

Waiting until I beat this before getting into Skyrim, though the kids are playing it on the XBox.

I'm afraid I'm a little late to the party. I didn't play Oblivion until 2010. I've known Pseron Wyrd for more years than either of us care to admit. He tried to get me to play Morrowind many years ago but I refused. Sometime later he tried to get me to play Oblivion. Pseron can be persuasive (and extremely insistent) when he feels strongly about something. He pestered me about these games for eight years. Finally I said, "Pseron, if I buy this stupid game will you please leave me in peace?" He swore that if I did he would never mention the subject again. So I bought it and I've been playing it happily ever since, lol.

I'm in Skyrim now but I fully intend to return to Oblivion soon. I have become very attached to the tranquil atmosphere of Cyrodiil. It's begun to feel almost like a second home to me.

I guess you got the new game in advance this time, wise from experience ;)

A week or two ago, when I saw it on sale on Steam. I've been a Morrowinder till then. I wish I had time for both, but at the moment it's more like none of them. :(

Some time in '10 i think it might have been '09 I just remember a friend recommended it to me last year so I got it then i realized I already had it for the pc. I played on my ps3 for a while then I went to the pc and loved it. I used to only like computers for point and click games like wow and da:o . now I love pc gaming.

I was introduced to Oblivion on precisely the day 8/17/2007 on Xbox 360. That was my first venture into The Elder Scrolls, and after a brief "WTF am I supposed to do?" character, I had my epiphone: do whatever you want. I immediately restarted, and was hooked soon after.

I switched to Oblivion PC in 2009 to gain access to mods; never looked back since.
