When did you start TES games?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 5:06 pm

Oblivion for the PC in... September 2007 I think, near my birthday. I got my first/new pc at the same time (as a birthday present :celebration: ) and started playing it back then. Found out I could only run it in Medium/Low, and saddened about it. That didn't stop me of playing it obviously, and I have been doing just that since that time (with breaks, of course eheh). I plan to try and go back to Morrowind until November, I have to at least see Solstheim! ;)

My first Elder Scrolls game was TES IV: Oblivion.

Daggerfall, all the way back in 1996. Got me ohhhhhhh so very hooked. Haven't been able to truly get away from the series since. ;)

I saw a review or preview for morrowind waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 03 as well as on a spoof series called Toonami(did I? not sure), I flipped when I watched a dunmer get taken down and STRIPPED of everything he had, I then found the TES site and zealously reviewed its Codex of ingredients, races, everything and fell in love more and more, and finally bought the game, and then bought it again for shix and giggles (GOTY Edition)

in all those years I still have NEVER beaten MW's MainQuest same goes for its expansions.

I then went to Daggerfall and then played Arena when Bethesda released it for free as a Dl on their site, I also played Redgaurd and Battlespire.

TES series kicks so much ass. :tes:

Arena was the first - I really don't care to remember how long ago that was

I started with Morrowind around the time it came out. Played Oblivion around the time it came out, then went back and played Redguard, and now I'm playing Daggerfall, with Battlespire next.

I doubt I'll play Arena. It lacks most things that make TES as enjoyable as it is for me. Plus I already played through the first dungeon and wandered around aimlessly and meh. Maybe if I ever get used to Daggerfall's gameplay I'll go back and play it though, but we'll see.

Mutant hugger! Well if you love Fallout you will love the post apocalyptic hellscape you will be living in after 2012

Well, if it's the end of the world like we think, and everyone dies, I don't think I will live. :P

I started with Oblivion. I watched couple of my friend's play it and was immediately amazed. It was the first game I bought when I got my own computer.

Picked Morrowind out of a bargain bin in like 03/04 for the original xbox and after reading the back of the box decided it sounded interesting. I had no idea.... Still only ever managed to complete the main quest once and I never even made it to solstheim or mournhold until recently, then my PC promptly died lol.

Been in love with the series ever since then and even more so when I got Morrowind and oblivion for PC and added mods.

Morrowind. I've been playing PC games for quite a long time, and I remember when Arena came out... I dismissed it out of hand because of the box art; the prominently placed, leather bikini-clad Swordy Babe had the opposite effect upon me that Bethesda hoped it would have. Shame; seems like I would have had fun with the game. At the time, I was still playing Ultima Underworld I and II a fair bit.

Daggerfall didn't even blip on my radar, because I was too busy freaking out over the awesomeness of multiplayer Quake.

I finally came to the series (and found love for it) because its heap of accolades became difficulto to ignore, and I wanted to play another fantasy RPG. While I never developed any love for Vvardenfell or its inhabitants, I did finally get svcked into the mechanics and lore of TES.

Oblivion in April '07 (or was it 08?). Anyway, the time has been lost because of the thousands of hours played, time that I'm glad to have lost.
I got Morrowind Christmas of the next year, but haven't played it substantially. I really need to give it a go one day.

I... not necessarily disbelieve, but I am skeptical about those who say they've played for over a thousand hours. I mean do you actually have a good idea of how many hours a day you play it and how many days you've played it? Because I'd imagine after 1-2 hundred hours, it would be hard to keep track of how long you've played it.

I first played Oblivion in 2008 (beginning of) when I first got my PS3.

I'm coming up on my 15th anniversary with the Elder Scrolls. Except for Arena, which I picked up later, I played the others pretty much as they were released. Never did finish Battlespire, though. I was out of the country at the time and managed to mangle the CD before finishing. It's on my bucket list, though.

I started with Morrowind in like... 6th grade, and I'm now a sophomore in college.

I remember renting it first, and just getting a little bit of money and travelling to a bunch of the different cities.

When I found some of the Telvanni settlements, I was like :unsure2:

Picked up Morrowind on the Original Xbox when it first came out.

Played it for years, there was just nothing else like it.

I started playing TES with morrowind when i was 6-7 in 2002, my sis was in hospital (nothing serious) and my mum was there most of the time, i asked if i could play Neverwinter Nights, she said no. So i asked if i could play morrowind, she said yes and so it began. but then she broke up with her boyfriend (who owned the disc), i was worried he took Morrowind with him but when we got home i found the morrowind disc sitting on the study desk, i was so happy and here i am today. My first memory of Morrowind was her boyfriend coming up over a hill in the Molag Mar region at sunset, he came up overlooking a daedric ruin with the sun shining on the horizon, i was in awe. There was what i now as a flame atronach coming to us and i asked what it was, he didnt know, attacked it, and was inadvertantly killed. That was my first memory,
I may be rambling now but TES are truly incredible games and I have literally grown up playing Morrowind. This may sound bad but hopefully my kids will too, or whatever TES game is out 20 years from now.

Holy cow, this year is officially 10 years since i started playing Morrowind, Wow. Officially one decade! and may i keep playing for another 8! (cause then ill be 96 and probably dead)

Started with Morrowind GOTY around I think it was around 6 months at least after it came out for Xbox. I was watching G4TV sick and I saw all these cool mid evil and I love mid evil games or movies like LOTR or something. I coupled that with my first big level land experience with Halo thinking I want a big land mid evil game. I went on IGN.com and found perfect screenshots of such a game and it was called Morrowind GOTY for the Xbox. Great game.

Oblivion, less than a year ago. I recently got Morrowind, but it’s still in the box. Maybe over spring break time will permit more playing.

Oblivion in '06, first proper game for my new 360. Subsequently became the ONLY one for about a year and a half

I really really really wish Morrowind was my first though, because everything except its combat is just so much better than TES4.
