When did you start TES games?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:19 pm

I have started The Elder Scrolls with Arena came out. I am curious to find out how you got started into TES.

I am curious as to how many people are new to TES and Skyrim will be there first TES game.

Got OBlivion GOTY after playing Fallout 3. Have since gotten Morrowind and Daggerfall too, but haven't really played them.

I started with Oblivion, but about a year ago got MW, so i've played both but in reverse order.

I think this belongs in the series discussion though

Morrowind.

Was the most awe inspiring feeling Id ever felt in a game before and I'd been a fan of every type of game there is

I guess, technically I started with Oblivion, since it was the first I played, at a friend's house. At the time it was pretty magical, and I was all, "OMG DIS JUST LIKE REAL LIFE."

I didn't have a good computer or an Xbox 360 at the time, but still wanted to play an Elder Scrolls game, so I picked up Morrowind GotY for 7 bucks at a Gamestop for my original Xbox. Played that for a few years until I saved up enough for a 360. First game I bought for it was Oblivion.

I started playing TES in 1998 when I got Arena and Daggerfall for my birthday. It was the beginning of a life long love hehe.

That is what I thought, but since alot of people might start with Skyrim, they will not be in the series discussion so I posted here, for people who only come to the Skyrim section.

I find the series discussion is for people who are into TES alot, so new commers will not be there.

I got Oblivion back in 08 after my friend did and I thought it was the best game ever. I don't play it anymore, but it's still my favorite game of all time. I hope that Skyrim, with the new and improved engine will provide me with another few-hundred hours of fun. :D

I barely played Daggerfall when i was a little kid, but i watched my older brother play all the time, then i beat it a couple times when it was released as abandonware, so I voted Daggerfall, but the first TES i played and beat all the way through was Morrowind.

Haha. Only daggerfall player on the list. No doubt this will demonstrate the incredible and in some cases illogical reverence of Morrowind.

Watched my dad play Arena and Daggerfall, that was my introduction into the series.

First game was Battlespire, then Daggerfall, Arena, Redgard, Morrowind, and finally Oblivion.

Morrowind about a year after it came out. Best RPG experience I've ever had. Never been in such an interesting world, it all felt real.

Well the main reason I stopped was that like, maybe 3 months later I got Fallout 3, and I started playing that to death. I enjoy the setting of Fallout more than TES, so I was stuck in it for probably one thousand+ hours. While I will totally love Skyrim, I'm really waiting for Fallout 4, which I hope will become my new favorite game ever. (Unless they make it like NV. T.T)

I tried Morrowind at a friend's when I was like 11 or something, but Oblivion was the first one I got myself, so I consider that the first one.

Morrowind, entirely by accident. Went back to Arena and Daggerfall when they came out for free.
