When does "respawn"?

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 12:02 pm

May sound stupid, but what are the rules for respawning time in this game? - I have set some containers to respawn in my mod, as I did some creatures, but now I have waited some 5 days and nothing happened? How often performs the game respawn, and how could I trigger it when testing a mod? - Thanks!

Respawn usually happens AFTER 3 days of NOT visiting the cell.

Interior cells can be forced to respawn witth http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/ResetInterior.

To be more specific: When a cell gets unloaded, the time gets stored with the cell. Next time the cell is loaded, the engine checks if the time difference is larger than the cell respawn time, which by default is 72 hours. If not, the new time gets stored in the cell, thereby preventing any respawn for the next 72 hours as well, etc.

It has worked on Console, thank you! - Interesting enough, one creature that has died outside the cell didn't respawn. Perhaps it will return when that other cell respawns?
