When Friendly Fire is On

I happen to be a fan of FF in games because it generally makes players be more careful, but there seems to be a problem understanding that even when you are not the shooter you are still responsible for the outcome of FF situations.

Even with FF off standing in front of a teammate who is shooting is a problem because his bullets don't pass through you, but it becomes more of an issue when FF is on because it makes you dead. Now I don't mind being shot on occasion because a group is fighting another group in a thin corridor and somebody makes a mis step, but the constant strafe and spray behaviors are no good for anybody in these situations.

When it happens, however, the generally accepted protocol is to...
if you have a mic apologize
if you are a medic res them
if you aren't a medic buff them

and then get on with the game.

For the "victim" of the accident it is the generally accepted protocol to move on, particularly when it was your fault for stepping into a line of fire. Asking for a VTK on an accidental shooting is just plain dumb, but revenge killing is even worse. Next time either don't walk into the little bullets or accept that it's a game and get back to it instead of proving that while the one person may not have noticed it was you, you are just an [censored].
