When the big day arrives...

Post » Fri Jul 01, 2011 1:47 pm

I'll go to school that friday morning. After school, me and my friends will, as always, go and buy crisps/sweets and soda and then I'll go to Gamestop and buy the game. We walk back up and when at our street(2 of my friends live on the same street) and I'll go inside my house and play THE game. :)

I'll get it whenever I could convince my mom to pick it up (I'll just barely be old enough to legally buy M-rated games, myself, but Skyrim is to be a late birthday present and so I'm not paying for it. :P) on release day, I'll put it in my PS3, I'll wait through the installation process, and then I'll spend my weekend playing it. Hopefully, I won't have too many homework assignments for that weekend.

08.00am : wake up, because I'm to excited too sleep anymore
08.10am : realize that I'm far too tired to stay awake, because I fell asleep far too late last evening because of excitement
10.00am : stand up again after some time trying to sleep again
10.10am : try to eat as much as I can so I don't need to for the rest of the day
11.00am : finally get my package from amazon
11.01am : open the package
11.02am : kiss my copy of Skyrim
11.03am : put the disc in my 360 and install, look at he collectors edition extras while installing
11.11am : start playing till probably late night.

If I have studies that day and they're in the morning, i'll hopefully play when I get home.

If I don't have studies that day:

Wake up.
Go to gym, get pumped.
Pull out armor, sword, and shield.
Put it all on.
Stand outside my door like a statue.
When the mailman finally comes with the game, ask him, what took him so long
Scare the [censored] of him due to that.
Take all armor off while smelling the gamebox and looking through the manual.
Install the game.
Wait and look at the manual more, and smell it.
Play.
Find bugs.
Get off and play more BF3.
Wait for patch.
Not there yet. Go on forums, everyone complaining.
More BF3.
Days later, finally get patch.
Play.

Aight so let's see I prolly won't get it till Saturday because I'll most likely have practice or a basketball game. But if it's on a Thursday that'll be fine I'll walk and pick it up after school. On Saturday if I don't have it by then I'm going to wake up and get me some khoolaid or orange juice, wait till nine and do my morning excercise and walk to the store.

Tl dr 11 11 11 might not happen for me.

I might take an extra day or two off but only if I really feel like it. It's just a game. Then I'll have to force myself to play it through instead of starting to mod for it instantly if I like it.

As a freelance dude -- I'm hoping I don't have any projects around 11.11.11...

I already told my girlfriend -- I love you, but be prepared for your boyfriend to become a Dark Elf, axe-wielding, venison chompin', mead swillin', addict whose skin tone drops a few shades beyond pale.

I want to just play some of this madness all day on my HD TV with 5.1 surround... I can't believe it's only July.

Will most likely have class and work when it is released, both of which I am not going to skip for a game, probably will get to really sit down and play it on the weekend.

I just realised I might be in Mongolia (as in the place used commonly as a reference to the farthest reaches of the earth) for work! I highly doubt that Skyrim will be released there on the release date :o

When the big day arrives I hope to have finished construction of my little private gameroom. Then I'll lock the door to my personal space and play until my nicotine or caffeine levels drop to dangerous levels. Then I'll take a short break in my oriental garden with coffee and smokes until I can lock myself in again :)

Do all work as early as possible, look in the post to see if there is Skyrim.

If not shout profanities at amazon.
If it is there, install and enjoy the weekend.

I preorder at my local Mall's Gamestop. I will arive at mall promptly 11/10/11 at around 8 with my best friend and girl friend. we eat in food cort, planing our next few days of playing, dicuseing hyped features, eating our wait in 5 Guys Burgers and Frys, as we dont plan to take "breaks" from skyrim just because it is meal time.

at 11 we perches energy drinks, a 6 pack of Monster each. We stand in line, conversing with Gamestop employes and other skyrimers. Ask if anyone else goes on the forms.

at midnight, Todd jumps out of a cake and hands me my completely prepaid CE. I pose with him for my new Facebook Profile picture.

We to our homes, useing energy drinks to stay up till friday night. pass out from exhaustion at around 10 PM, in my gameing beanbag.

wake up to find my little brother/father trying to play wile i am sleeping. I take the ps3 remote and hiss until they run away, and play more.

Later I rejoin society.

It's a single-player game that will be around for years - I'm not too concerned about playing it at midnight.

I'm getting the retail boxed version, so I'll probably get it on the 11th or 12th. I'll be excited, but there's no need to rearrange my life around it.

Yep.

Even a great game is still, in the end, just a game. :)

Whatever time I wake up - Jump out of bed, throw on the closest clothes next to me, leave my flat and quickly head down to GAME, disregarding any lectures I may have that day.

When I get back - Ignore my flatmates, take my Xbox from the living room back into my bedroom (to avoid disturbances - I have a flatmate who doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut - and of course enjoy Skyrim on my sixier, HD 32" TV).

When my girlfriend calls - Tell her I'm in lectures all day, I'm swamped with work, it's going to be difficult to talk. Then carry on playing Skyrim.

When the police begin an investigation, as I haven't been seen or heard from for over 72 hours - Show my face, my friends and family will be so relieved I'm okay they can't possibly be mad at me.

Then I go back to playing Skyrim.

Some of you people are very strange. I enjoy gaming but it is ONLY a game, you shouldn't arrange your life minute by minute because of a game. Weirdo's.

Why would you possibly pre-download it on Steam? I got Portal 2 on Steam because Valve makes Steam and loves digital distribution.

But come on, Skyrim is one of those games that you've GOT to have in your hands.
