so when's the multi GPU issue going to be fixed

Post » Sat Mar 05, 2011 6:31 pm

why wasn't the multi GPU flicker bug adressed in patch 1.2?

I'm really glad crouch toggle was implemented! Sadly though, I can't even play the damned thing without getting an epileptic fit.

(yes i tried all the workarounds or "fixes", renaming executables, reducing brightness, disabling AI - none of it works on a 5970)

Furthermore when i patched to 1.2 the game wouldnt even run, said the game folder could not be found. Prolly due to all the "fixes" and "suggested workarounds" we've all been trying for the last 10 days!

So a fresh game install + fresh 11.3 drivers and cap (after driversweep remove of old ones) + 1.2 autopatch = still no joy. yay!

gosh crytek you're mean.

It wasn't addressed because it's a Nvidia/Ati driver issue and not a Crytek issue.

This solved it for me (only for Steam version):

* Uninstall any old ATI drivers beforehand if you have to install a new version
* It is best NOT to use the Advanced Graphics Utility as messing with those settings might bring the flickering back EVEN with the new ATI CAP
-> In case you did use the utility you can delete the Autoexec.cfg file to roll back any of your changes.

1. Install 11.3 ATI drivers
2. Install the Crysis 2 CAP for Steam (http://www.rage3d.com/index.php?cat=75#newsid33975741)
3. REBOOT !
** Normally the game should now run on lower FPS but the flickering will be resolved **
4. Install RadeonPro, create a Crysis 2 profile and set the CrossFire settings to F.E.A.R

This should resolve the flickering while maintaining a healthy framerate for me.

The real question is, how the hell did this issue get released into the full game? Do they not test their software?

I have 5850's in crossfire. I had flickering problems. I deleted old 11.2 cat and profile, installed 11.3 and new profile 'the one that has the new crysis stuff in it' and I have no more flickering and game is running great. I do not use crysis2 through steam.

Works fine on my 5970, had to adjust a couple of things with third party software. But it works.
Granted I am using the newest drivers and profiles.

Sorry but that's BS
I've never had any flickering in any other game with this card.
Crytek released this and quite obviously did not test it on dual gpu ATI cards.. If the 11.2 and 11.3 drivers work for everything else but crysis 2 I don't understand how you can claim this is an ATI issue that crytek shouldn't address ..
