When there's something strange... on your clothes...

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 7:11 pm

Alright guys, I recently got a hoodie I ordered from Ubisoft. It's a ridiculously comfortable hoodie with the abstergo logo in the front, and on the back there's this binary code block:

01001100
01001111
01000111
01001001
01001110

I took that to http://home2.paulschou.net/tools/xlate/ and found out it meant "LOGIN." Other results;

Text: LOGIN
Base64: TE9HSU4=
Hex: 4c 4f 47 49 4e

With the hoodie came an envelope and inside the envelope was a letter and an Abstergo business card. The letter isn't important, but on the business card was "www.abstergoindustries.com" Going there takes you to a website that isn't finished. However, this person http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=789496 discovered "Spoiler (Rollover to View):
if you look at the source code, you find the 'original' IP: 50.16.214.65. And if you go to that page, you get the same page, but with a password prompt in the middle. "

Any idea, BGSF?

In the password section start guessing all the values you got that you listed above.. I don't know what you could possibly get at the end of it, but it seems interesting.

You're like the official BGSF "Chosen One" aren't you? First Vinegar Ra, and now this. :P

I entered everything. At first "TE9HSU4=" seemed like an obvious password but it doesn't do anything. I tried it without the '=', and backwards. Maybe the website with the login bar is just a fluke and nobody was supposed to find it. Maybe the website has nothing to do with the barcode.

Still waiting for the obligatory "This is important. This means something."

You should know by now that any thread on BSF ends up berating the subject matter

Nope, wasn't that easy.

Like I said, it may not even be related to the website. At least not yet. "Coming Soon."

Have you tried reversing the binary?

Could have something to do with Assassin's Creed.

Start putting in release dates for all their games or something.

Just a bunch of gibberish

Game: I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Assassin's Creed since Abstergo is the evil company in the series.

...or the password could be:
Ubisoft requires a permanent Internet connection to play this video game at all times.
or
A PERMANENT HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION AND CREATION OF A UBISOFT ACCOUNT ARE REQUIRED TO PLAY THIS GAME.

Yeah, I've played a couple of the games, but off the top of my head I can't think of any significant numbers in them. That's why I just suggested the release dates.

If I remember right....(Flashback music)

You should post this on the Valve forums. After the people there broke the portal code anything will seem like a piece of cake.

A little while ago I came on here asking about a barcode on the back of a hoodie I had ordered from Ubisoft. Nothing was discovered.

However; I opened my email today and right at the top was a message from "Erudito@mail.com"

In the email was instructions on what to do with the hoodie. It took me to a page that looks like an Abstergo email account. I see messages from Vidic and all that.

Thought it was pretty damn cool. Felt like I had to share.
