When will we see the next update?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:51 am

How long will these updates continue?

I heard we only have 1 or 2 more.

Only 1 more.

And ''maybe'' one more after that one.

Which will absolutely be the last Hubdate.

The guy Andrew Reiner answered asked about both updates. But his answer was simply "Tomorrow". Any chance that was his answer to both questions?

Probably 11.10.11 to inform us release has been delayed :whistling:

It has to go master gold by august at least. If it misses that date it wont get past QA then printed to disc. They would know months ahead of that if they would be able to hit gold by august. The game as we will know it on 11.11.11 is done now. Most likely they are fixing what is there and adding in what they know will work and not cause problems 5 months down the road.

I don't think we'll need to worry about them not making it. The game is in the beta-stage, which means that the game itself is finished. (You're gonna have to trust me on the game being in the beta-stage, as I have no source. I am, however, 100% certain. I'll try to dig up the source).

How far in did they decide to release the Oblivion demos? How far along in development?

I don't have a source because I forgot where I read it. I expressed it poorly, I know. Don't go facepalming people before you know the full story, though.

Because it is Day/Month/Year isn't it?

maybe for some people... but most people use the month/day/year set up... or they USED to, anyway... i still do, because day/month/year is confusing as hell... and stupid.

i hope when we get the UI update, we'll atleast get ONE screenshot showing something off... seeing something that wasnt in the GI magazine would be nice to hold us over until the first video comes out.

Lol how is it stupid? days are shortest, so they go first, then months, then years. That's how I was taught it anyway :P
I was really hoping on another hupdate with AI :( oh well, I'm sure it will be revealed in due time.

As far as I can tell, D/M/Y is the British version, while M/D/Y is the American. What with being from England, I use the British version, which is or course, the right one; disagree and we'll un-invent...well pretty much everything  .

America's kept around or even use a fair amount of different systems than Europe. Things change differently I guess.

Slightly like English changed over Britian in time just as it did for Americans

america is one of three that dont use the SI units.

and yes it does not make any sense to use M/D/Y.
just like galleon, farhenheit, mile, feet, pounds etc. not make much sense.
good thing they use seconds/min/hours.

Either way 11/11/11 is a fit for everyone regardless of putting month or day first. In Australia we put the day first. Smallest to biggest is not that hard.

I'm American (USA version) and even I bash our stubborn use of non-metric units. D/M/Y makes far more sense. You could even extend it to seconds/minutes/hours/day/months/year for example if you wanted to and the format would still work!

Every time I hear someone ask another person "How many oobleskgocks are in a blobbslableck?" I think "if this was metric they could have just moved the decimal point." The whole inches/feet/yards/miles thing is so archaic and the sooner it goes the better. During the 1980s and 1990s they prepared us for switch to metric that politicians blocked (or never even tried to implement).

More on the topic, there is room for two more entries on the hub... but if he says there's only one more I'm not very optimistic about there being two. I hope we see the UI and then as a finale get some better game play screens or even video!

The British didn't invent everything your thinking of the Chinese/Greeks/Romans. There is also no correct way to order the date, though I use D/M/Y as well.

Actually MM/DD/YYYY is ONLY used in America (EDIT: there may be other countries which use that system, but I haven't found any, so pls don't take "only" literally).
Most countries have DD/MM/YYYY, some YYYY/MM/DD.
So don't throw around with words like "most people" and "stupid". There is a world outside America, you know?
Look at wikipedia for more info (keyword "Date format by country")

On Topic:
I'm really looking forward to the next update.
Hope the UI has been extremely improved!

Actually, the metric system of measurement is inherently flawed. The reason for this is that mathematically speaking, a base of 10 makes no sense. We think it's easy numerically, but that's because our number system also has a base of 10, which is should not. A base of 12 (or some other multiple of 2, like 16) is better for the simple reason that 10 cannot be split 3 ways. You end up with 3 numbers with infinite decimal places (3.333333 etc) that don't quite add up to 10.

Forgive me this completely off-topic post, but I'm a computer science major, and I just couldn't resist.

I always have done it as M/D/Y because when speaking say "it is January 27 2011", that is today as an example, I say it with month first then day then year, so when doing short formsthats how I do it.

Anyways another update soon would be awesome. But i cant wait for the game to be released. 8 months of school till it comes out. And 8 exams. Its gonna be a long time.

8 months is nothing.

Am I the only person who is thinking "Holy [censored] its only 10 months til skyrim comes out"?

Keep yourself busy and the months will literally fly by.
