When will survival make beta?

Post » Fri Mar 25, 2016 7:36 am

What patch? 1.04? Bethesda announced(Monday the 7) later that week it'll come out and it came out friday, that didn't turn into a outcry by people. Now the DLC situation wasn't bethesda's fault for north american users having to wait 16 hours to get the DLC after other locations got it at midnight. That was Sony of America choice as they only update the PS Store on tuesdays 4pm est and 1pm pct. So what are you going on about here?

Sorry but this is a load of rubbish and comes off as if you're one of those entitles kids who just doesn't quite understand how this industry works.

Bethesda may have gone past the 1.14 beta and another one coming soon but they don't know the specific date. Soon could be anytime between 2 weeks to 1 month and that's fine. People should wait and see after 2 weeks since this announcement before jumping up in arms about the "lack of date". Bethesda are not like other developers where they publicly list a release date before they know for sure that it will hit that date. They wait and then announce a release window they believe is set.

Also this isn't a type of difficulty Bethesda are known for anyway. Fallout has never had a hardcoe mode until new vegas and even then it was pretty barebones but people enjoyed it. So doing something like this which is to an extreme level of survival and they have to overcome new hurdles is not easy. So sit back, relax drink some tea and play fallout 4 or maybe other games and wait patiently like everyone else.

I have to agree the whole survival mode has sparked some of the worst topics or posts since this game launched. The lack of patience of people these days is astounding. When it releases we can finally stop seeing these types of threads people who come off worse than they intend to

It was patch 1.14 for consoles that had quite the delay without any information, and saw quite the posts about both here and on other media with people being mad about not knowing what was going on and when it would arrive... About the DLC they lacked to inform about the situation cause and when they deemed it resolved, also saw plenty of posts about that and had Bethesda informed proberly it would have boiled down to the ones who think Bethesda is in charge Sony and their mistakes...

Sry to say, I′m not one of those entitled kids, I′m one of those who actually have an insight in management and knowledge about handling PR, along with being busy enough and need to plan just a little... But please, if that′s entitled kid, by all means call it like that... However, if this was a Kickstarter project you would be quite upset about the current state of the game, about the lack of information they provided... So why should Bethesda have such a holy position in comparison? A famous person said "you′re only as great as your last piece of work"... So we established I′m not the entitled kid you name-called me into, probably have more insight into the industry than you have anyway, and I′ve actually compared FO4 to other games and companies on how they have handled it... That′s called research for those who want to do the same...

And looks who doesn′t know how the industry works, "they don′t know when it will release", if they are any serious company they knew they were going to release end of march 1-2 months ago, since they had already set deadlines for QA and beta... And it′s not fine when soon is between 1 week to 1, it′s about planning and many gamers have lives aside from gaming and needs to plan around it. Again, I′m not saying they should post a set release date 2 months in advance, but when we enter march it′s the decent thing to do to inform whether it will release first or end of march. Just like survival mode not being announced as "soon", which 11 hrs was corrected to about 1 week which is way better than "soon".

When you buy a product you generally want it to work on the get-go, you don′t buy a car just to have it look pretty in the drive-way and make cool sounds while you will have the tires "soon"... You might be Bethesda fan-boys who will eat everything they say and do, but when a big company starts to handle themselves less or the same as the Kickstarter projects that people are mad about, there′s a huge issue that′s not about being entitled.

Also, calling New Vegas survival bareboned in comparison to FO4? really... Are you serious?... NV was a work-in-progress, I′ll give you that, and had hoped for FO4 to evolve on that, making it better in their own way. Yet all they provided was you getting killed easier and enemies taking more bullets... Yeah... That′s survival... But stating Fallout never had a hardcoe mode is laughable, since you most obviously never played the original games then, and that′s on normal difficulty even... Stating that Bethesda doesn′t do that kind of survival just saddens me, that you are willing to accept that Bethesda should just sit back and do what everyone else did like CoD and Borderland... Sorry for wanting more out of this game and this company, sorry for actually listening to how Bethesda announced this game, which promises they made and how little they actually delievered on those... I don′t see it as being entitled, it′s Bethesda who made a clear promise they couldn′t deliver upon... That′s just bad marketing...

Besides, now that they have announced the ETA on survival, I will sit back and drink my... coffee though... Since now I know I have to kick out the GF about next week and suggest she visits her family, since it′s long overdue for her...

This isn′t as much about the survival mode, this is more about the lack of information Bethesda provides and the lack of patience is also about the lack of information... Again, it has a huge impact if I have to clear a schedule 1 week or 1 month from now, and have deadlines too that I have to navigate around... But really, your tone doesn′t help much about this situation... Calling people entitled kids when you know next to nothing about them and probably know more about this stuff than you, it′s simply lack of respect and poor ethics to be making such statements... It doesn′t bring anything to the topic, nor does it bear any meaning other than trying to mock the topic... So either keep it civil or stay out, name-calling is uncalled for and say more about you than me... But the topic was discussed in a civilized manner prior to your arrival, which was about when the other post was closed which quite frankly was a load off bull on that, since it was all about name-calling...

So please, keep it civil even though you disagree

Well the team working on Fallout 4 now is probably 20% of what worked on it pre-release, while the rest has moved on to other projects. There is also patching and DLC work to be done, and on top of that the Survival mode. Its not like they are only doing that one thing.

Yup, they announced about 12 hrs ago at Bethesda... All I ever needed was an ETA better than "soon", since "soon" for bethesda could mean past 1 month even :-)

They do, and they are probably working on Far Harbor aswell which would still be worked at currently

The last beta was started on a Monday. If there is method to their madness, Monday will be a good bet for this one too.

I normally wait until the patch goes live to everyone and don't do the Steam beta testing thing. I might make an exception this time. For those who played with the previous beta patches, were you able to continue using your mods?

Haven′t used mods, but from what I′ve gathered from the beta-testing so far (only the open) is that they don′t really change that much from going regular... My guess is, that they release beta when they deem it ready, with as few bugs as possible and then test it on a large scale to see if something unexpected comes up... Whether it will inflict on mods, not having tried it yet... It all depends on how they interact with the game... Is it just visuals you should be fine, but game-changing mods might be an issue either due to changing same things or by not being balanced against each other proberly, to which the modder will likely do so shortly after since he would likely go beta to get a heads start :-)
