When will the game be finished?

First post :celebration:

I was wondering... we all know that we're 45 days away from getting our hands on Skyrim, but what day will the game actually be finished? Obviously, the game has to be mass produced and shipped everywhere, but how long does that really take? Does the team have a lot of time left to fix the bugs? I would guess they need about 2 weeks, but I honestly have no clue. Anyone know?

They need a lot more time than two weeks to squash bugs. Luckily Bethesda will release it even if it's full of bugs, as is tradition.

Is it bad that Bethesda fans have come to expect this? :P

System specs are supposed to be released in October, so I would think at the same time is when Skyrim goes gold

I thought about doing a thread like this and making it like a lottery thing or choosing squares for a football pool but I never got to it. When I asked this question a while back, I asked when the game would go gold. The answer I got was around October 15.

So my pick for the football-type pool would have been October 14...because it's a Friday and because I'm eager. :D I don't know if they'll announce it when it happens but I hope so.

Edit: I went a bit earlier than usual because it's a simultaneous world-wide launch.

That was from me

Pete announced on twitter when RAGE was finished, hopefully he'll do the same with Skyrim. It was 18 days before it's October 4th launch date.

Last 3 weren't simultaneous worldwide multiplatform releases though.

Yes it was you and I did remember that. :) When Rage went gold and they announced it, it was very close to the amount of time you predicted for Skyrim. Fingers crossed that it'll be at that time.

It will launch on time. But it wont be "finished" per se, until several months after launch. Basically due to patches.

Won't be finished, ever. Bug reports will probably continue to be filed even after it's gone gold. Anything found after that point goes into their first update. Then the next, and then you'll have balance issues found. Those will be corrected and expansions will come next. It won't end.
