Soon I hope. I'm stuck in the Lucky 38 and can't get out, I have no earlier saves.

I fear when it's fixed it'll only be for new games and those of us who've already experienced the glitch will need to start over. If that's the case I'll probably sell the game since I'm already ~20 hours in.

I'm having the same problem except im on the outside of the strip trying to get in. I'm pretty sure my plasma rifle and power armor isn't gonna defend me against the software corruption ghoul...... luckily i THINK i can play the other parts of the game..... we'll find out as the day progresses

Thank god I saved OUTSIDE the casino and not INSIDE. And facing the doorway and not into the strip. I am fine as long as I don't turn around and try to look at it, which causes it to instantly freeze. Also thankfully it seems confined to the Strip, as I was able to fast-travel to the Mojave Outpost and continue on ( hopefully ) glitch-free. I guess it's time for this Wanderer to take his dog and sniper companion and do what he does best: tame the Wasteland.

But seriously, I hope they get this fixed and FAST. Disappointing amount of release-day bugs and problems. Always leaves a foul taste in my mouth for future iterations.

Its the hat you have to get magic hat its the hate you kill that guy on the strip on dept collecter if you turn it in there is another at the crimson trader camp for sale you must put the hat on before you enter strip the name for it is the old cowboy hat when you wear it and enter strip it will load no black screen of crash i searched for 3 hours killed many to find it but i had the same problem the hat seems to well make the strip work.

Has Bethesda even acknowledged this game breaking bug?

Their response to everything seems to be "hey man we already fixed like a kajillion bugs please don't complain."

Im sure they know alot of people have this problem it seems to have something to do with the final part of dept collectior a quest for the twins in freeside at the atomic wrangler if you finish it thats what starts the strip crash bug unless you kept the old cowboy hat from my other post.

Oh good, I'm not the only one with this bug/glitch. It's really frustrating having to deal with it. I am a gamesas fan forever. It's hard to stay positive when this is happening multiple times.

I just hope they can fix it completely without people who've already experienced the glitch having to start over.

I know it's caused by killing the guy in the Strip, everyone says it has to do with his hat not being in the zone after you loot it for the quest or something along those lines.

Maybe just release a patch removing him completely if the quest is complete?

I can confirm that it still causes file corruption, assuming that that's your problem with that quest. If I complete the quest and save any time afterwards, it says it can't load the file because DLC content is no longer available. Even if I avoid finishing this quest, my system freezes regularly. About every fifteen minutes. This is so outrageous. Someone should've beta-tested a little more extensively (if they did at all. I wouldn't know, but by the way this game plays I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't tested at all) amirite? This is so ridiculous. My character is level 21 (20 since I have to load files before I completed "Come Fly With Me") and if either of the developers of this game expect me to start over again, they are sorely mistaken.

I couldn't agree more. Only my issues didn't involve freezing (Only froze 2 times.), but my issues occurred AFTER I finished "Come Fly WIth Me" and was fine until I entered Boulder City. For me, that is where all my mess started. I had never been to the strip at all either. So, its not just the strip that causes this whole savegame/missing DLC problems. It starts after "Come Fly With Me" and if you enter into Boulder City. At least for me it did.

The missing dlc bug and the black screen strip bug are two different things, but many people are experiencing them both.

Once you kill the guy in the strip and hand the hat over that creates the bug. Theres no hat inside that section of the strip so it doent load properly.
You need to get a new hat, travel to the Crimson Caravan Company and talk to the guy selling stuff in the middle, buy the "old cowboy hat", wear it and go to the strip, it will let you in.

You might be able to put the hat onto the dead guys body rather than wear it, im not risking it.

It doesn't work for everyone. The Desperado Cowboy Hat does nothing to help me with the bug and that's the only one I could find at Crimson Caravan shops.

Old Cowboy Hat is the only one that will work because thats what the guy was wearing.

Maybe. I have no way to test that since I'm stuck in the casino. Thought I had gotten incredibly lucky and found an old cowboy hat but it was rawhide cowboy hat instead.

Wait did you turn in your hat? If your in the casino it has to be there somwhere or else you would not be able to enter the strip at all. (explane your stiuation) what did you do before you went in casino?

You are mistaken, you can get into the strip after turning in the hat and without buying/wearing a new one if you dismiss your followers. That's what I did.

Man that svcks i hope they patch it soon because thats unfair to gamers all around its like we have to pay a 60 doller fee just to beta test.
and getting around the glitches is like a whole other side quest.

Why would you sell the game after it is fixed? It's a great game, just start over.
