So... where are all the beast races?

Ok, so I get why there are no Argonians in Dragonborn. I'm sure they are not exactly welcome on the island. But no Khajiit? Hopefully the next DLC will have some more... variety in the NPC races.

well it's an dark elf and former imperial colony in morrowind (and game) i doudt there would be any reason for them to go there in the first place.

Well, a number of people on the island came over from Skyrim. Some of the beast races on Skyrim aren't exactly feeling the love from the locals, so I could see them coming to the island. Ok, probably not the Argonians, but the Khajiit caravnas could certainly travel to the island.

Just saying, it just seems a little sparse on the beast side. Last time we were on the island (Bloodmoon) there was an Argonian "greeter" on the docks.

It's a Nordic island that was given to the Dunmer. It's also currently in a very poor state both ecologically and economically. Why on Earth would a beast race want to go there?

Because that's exactly where one would expect to find the beast races. I mean look at Skyrim. Where are most of the Argonians? Being treated like dirt on the docks in Windhelm. Where are most of the Khajiit? Forced to travel around because they Nords won't let them into the cities. So from that perspective, the island really isn't all that bad compared to Skyrim - as far as the beast races go.

Even Skyrim has some beast races scattered here and there - College of Winterhold, bandits, etc.

I just find it surprising, and a little disappointing, that they aren't more represented on the island. I'm not expecting Elsweyr here, but I would expect a few scattered here and there.

Just because you are a beast race fan, that does not meen that lore should be thrown out the window because you want to see some kittens and salamanders on an island with a history of love-hate relationships.

Yeah, thanks for that gem of wisdom. If you had bothered to read any of the posts in this thread, you would have noticed that I'm just saying it seems like the island is light on Khajiit. I didn't say it was light on Argonians. I dind't say I'm a beast race fan.

Given the lore, it makes sense that Argonians wouldn't be on the island. It doesn't make sense that Khajiit wouldn't be on the island.

Yes but why would they go to Solstheim? The island is off the coast of the Dunmer province of Morrowind so of course it will be mostly if not completely inhabited by dark elves. Like the others said, Solstheim is in an economically bad state so the only real people who would continue living there are the natives but the natives (imperials) gave it up to the dunmer so its theirs now.

EDIT: I actually did run into a Khajiit wizard just outside of Raven Rock at that burnt down farm Lol he attacked me for reasons unknown.

Solstheim is also off the coast of Skyrim. And before it was given to the dark elves, it was a part of Skyrim. That explains the healthy contingent of Nords.

I'm not saying it would be a magnet for anyone, but Bethesda games have typically cast the beast races in poverty (slavery in Morrowind). So it seems reasonable to find them in an economically depressed place. Not many, but *some*. Unless I missed one, I don't remember any - that is what seemed odd to me.
