Where are all the side quests?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 2:08 pm

I have run out of things to do :( Would like some input to see if I am just missing something, but it feels like we only have main quest, and then settlement stuff, and that's about it. No separate organizations that do not directly tie in to the main quest akin to the dark brotherhood, fighters guild, mages guild, thieves guild etc in ES. Without spoiling too much, could you please post the names of organizations or groups you can do missions for, if there are any that I missed?

I did notice that too, there isn't enough side quests and some of them are just 'go there and kill Raiders' etc halfway through the map...

Of course there is still a lot of exploring left to do but so far, the side quests are meh.

There are actually quite a lot of side missions, outside of the "Radiant Missions" like go kill these folks , gather this, save these people/synth. You just need to travel to different places to get them. Goodneighbor is one example of a place with some side missions, sometimes to get the missions you will need to listen to the radio broadcasts, other times it is talking to the right people.

Yeah I went to a bar in DC and after a few scenes in the bar and outside I'm looking for some woman's husband. So just wander around, listen, talk to anyone that doesn't have a generic title as a name.

The Cabot House quest is one of my favorites. (spoilers perhaps)

To get it I heard a rumor (I think in goodneighbor) about some insane asylum in the northern-ish area. It put that on my map. I went there and killed some soldiers waiting outside, but couldn't get in. Later, I was met by a guy who I guess commanded those troops and said he needed someone like me to work for him - this started the quest where you go into the cabot house and meet those people. pretty cool

I got it from the ghoul dude at bunker hill. Awesome that there's different ways to obtain it!

Yep I had the exact same thought last night. Very un-Fallout like where in previous games you couldn't walk past a named character without them wanting you do to something it seems like the vast majority of quests in 4 are main quest, settelment or faction based.

There is a [censored]ton of quests not related to main story/Bos/railroad and minuteman so if you dont find em than you must be doing something very wrong.

Let me ask you this. Are most of them inside the city limits? Until last night I have wandered the wilderness, from settelment to settelment.

Most side quests are started in the populated areas of the game, but there are are those that can be found by scrounging around in out of the way places. I really don't think a fault of this game (and it does have faults) is a lack of quests...

One thing to look for is locations on your map that you have not actually unlocked (can't fast travel to). Those locations are usually quest locations that have been mentioned to you by NPCs in just passing that you can easily miss.

You overhear some things just wandering around diamond city. Usually like theres some good loot here or there and it puts it on your map.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I will keep an eye out for the map pointers, passing conversations. Now that I have entered the greater city area (crossed the river) I am sure I will run into more. It just seems strange as in Fallout 3 I barly wandered out of the vault and seemed like people were falling all over me to ask for help. At times it got confusing trying to deal with all the side quests I would have going. It looks like they changed that approach in 4.

My quest list is overwhelmed with things to do at the moment, not sure what to tell you. Talk to random people and listen to their conversations

Here is the list of every single main quest, side quest, miscellaneous quest, and unmarked quest, in the game someone posted on 4-chan.

Unless you have done everything on there, you haven't done everything yet.

Here's 5 that I found so far. The ship in Boston, a mall in the wasteland, 2 emergency beacons, and a rescue someone from super mutants. The last one I had to turn on my radio to a certain channel to get.

Eta, make that 6. I did the Cabot house's first quest line. I have to wait a week in game to find out what happens with the second quest line.

you have to explore the entire map and run into people and talk to them etc, there's all kinds of quests to do, BGS even talked about all the side quests being the staple of the game and not the main quest, i'v done 20 quests and only 2 of them were part of main quest and i've only probably discovered 20% of the locations in the game , i just run by most locations because i'm busying doing other stuff, so there's plenty of quests you just need to find em.
