I double dog dare you to try this in whatever major city you live in. See just how long that folding stock AK remains hidden from view. Even a small handgun provides a telltale bulge underneath all but the loosest of clothing. Have fun with this one and please do tell me how long you manage to avoid unwanted attention.

Ok this one was a little mean, but you really cannot hide any form of an AK under clothing, not even Jabba's MooMoo.

I don't think it was mean.

As proof of concept i taped an AMD-65 under my armpit, with the charging handle facing inwards and muzzle brake removed. With a hoodie and an M65 field jacket over it there was not much of a bulge to speak of. The only clue was where the rear pistol grip was resting on my chest, but that was luckily disguised by one of the pockets on the M65. I'm a pretty small guy but i could even walk reasonably well.

One problem i've found is that the charging handle poked the crap out of me, gotta stick some foam there but i bet James Bond could handle it without flinching. :disguise:

I am going to remain skeptical on this one, there is a difference from you thinking it is hidden and being hidden from a trained professional.

But I should admend my previous statement, there are certain body types that have an easier time hiding weapons on them. If someone could be the next cast member of the Biggest Loser, one would certainly have an easier time hiding a weapon on them. Even a big weapon, if they are big enough.

I'm very critical about myself in the mirror so it must have turned out pretty good if i'm satisfied. I didn't consider going near any kind of professional with this thing taped to me though, not even a professional chef. I'm a bad liar anyways.

New to Fallout hm? About the only things we know about America after 1950 is that Nixon was president and Elvis was famous in their timeline too.

You can't apply laws of our world to the Fallout world.

The AK-47 was phased out for the AK-112, simple as that.

It's not as simple as that. If that was the reason, then

-Why isn't the AK-112 in NV?
-Why do several other Fallout games have AK "47" variants?
-Why do other weapons that have been "phased out" appear in all fallout games?

The only other game in the FO series to have an AK 47 is Tactics, and thats largely not canon. No AK 47's in Fallout 1,2,3, and NV.

who really cares? Why are there not cowboy weapons in fo3? Why ask why unless it is something way more important than this?

Why ask who really cares when it's evident that we do? And what's more important than this? Oh, let me guess, things that you're personally interrested in?

Fallout 3's chinese assault rifle is inarguably an AK variant.

the fo3 chinese ar was most definitely a ak inspired weapon.

This is just a pointless thing to open a post and flip out about. Kindly put it in the future fo suggestion threads like 1000 times like I do. I don t open a post very often, and when I do I don t half flip about something as little as what weapons should be laying around 200 years after a nuclear war.

The game gives you like 500 weapons. They can t have every weapon in the world, and make ones up as well.

They had a generic AK in FO3 with an equally generic name,Assualt Rifle, who needs conventional ballistics when you can just disintegrate or reduce them to protoplasmic goo. Welcome to the future

He's got a point though, becuase the AK-47 is a very durable and reliable weapon, also it is one of the most manufactured assault rifles.

Ak-47 is the second most manufactured assault rifles next only to the FN-Fal, which god only knows why. I think the AK is a sturdier, more reliable weapon and can be bought dirt cheap(about $125 US in places like Somalia).

And as far as the ban on assault weapons, someone should tell that to Louisianna, because their weapon laws are much looser than the rest of the United States.

No they didnt, the R91 Urban Assault Rifle (Assault Rifle) was in no way of a Kalashnikov base, it was more based along a G3 base.

Haha, casual racism is always funny.....

Regardless. There has never been an AK-47 in Fallout.

Fallout 1 & 2 had the AK-112. A fictional 5mm derivative
Fallout 3 had the Chinese Assault Rifle (no other designation given), a 5.56mm derivative.

I'm not sure why you're upset about the loss of a weapon that has never been in the (canon) games.

Are you SAYING, FALLOUT 1 or 2 is canon? Dear god, you must be new to fallout, The AK-112 as you said is based on AK-47, and you argue that the game is not canon, when infact, a clear fact. it is.
