Where are the godly perks?

Post » Fri Dec 05, 2008 6:30 pm

I just looked through the perks list and there are no perks for reaching level 30/35. Huge disappointment! I enjoyed getting Almost Perfect or Nuclear Anomaly.

Not to diminish the importance of other perks, but with the system of perks every 2 levels, alot of the perks in F3's effectiveness has been reduced. I totally would have enjoyed nuking people at the brink of death again.

I guess I worded that wrong, I didn't mean godly as in unbalanced, because I didn't think NA was unbalanced, but I meant level 30/35 perks that made getting level 30 cool.

Don't deny it, exploding is cool!

I hated about everything that came from Broken steel. I'm the wrong person to ask about such things.

Once you're at level 30, the care for balance goes out the window, or for me it does.

NV is a bit more down to earth :)

I find the low amount of superawesome high level perks rather nice, as I can pick some of the fun or useful-if-nichy lower level perks.

Perks don't have to always affect combat. I can one shot alot of things too, but combat isn't everything!

What perks are you wanting them to add/bring back? The perks that made your stats 9 were dumb to me, ruins the process of a build.

There are plenty of things you could have.

For starters, you could have a perk which increases run speed by 10%, and crippled legs only affect you half as much. Can be stacked with Travel Light.

Anything to fill level 30 would be great, having the last perk at 26 is lame. Not to mention rad absorption blows.

Valkebus:It was godly. It was like a Second Chance. Not to mention, it was just a cool perk.

Apprently you dont know how to use rad absorbtation correctly. :read:
But if you want to run faster wear light clothing.

Paying 100 caps/getting radaway is alot better and easier.

I did use Rad Absorption in F3, but in NV perks are so precious. It's value has been diminished.

Hmmm godly perks..

Gun build...

Agility 8. perception 6, luck 6, strength 6.
Rapid reload, comprehension, shotgun surgeon, cowboy, finesse, hand loader, better criticals, jury rig, weapon handling with these common easy to aquire perks you out fight anything.

Close combat.
All melee perks, all unarmed perks, any perk that adds to damage or criticals for melee or in general, any perk that adds to DT, again you kill anything easily.

Really the only way to not have any non godly perks in FO is if they all added one skill point per perk and that's all.
Most perks in NV are god like if you use them right and make some plans.

I was a bit surprised by that myself, however I am glad to not see a repeat of what happened in FO3 where reaching the level cap allowed you to choose stupidly OP perks simply because it was the level cap. Then they went and added 10 more levels, which meant you could take all of them on the same character as well as things like Almost Perfect...

I far prefer needing several perks to have a really strong character, since that means I have to commit to a particular build for a given play-through.

The other problem with godly perks is that you need godly enemies to compensate for them, and we know how well that went over...

See, here's how you do away with sponge monsters: Soak them in water.

After that, they'll just kind've bumble about and leak all over... it's great!

Err... no, really, though... I actually -liked- the Overlord and the Reaver. With 19th and 20th Century Weapons installed, they were actually a bit -easy- to kill.

Granted, the damage that I did to them was like... ten times the amount it takes to kill a typical non-spongey enemy... but meh. I never really cared.

As far as end-game type enemies go, for me... I prefer the sort that die easily... but do MASSIVE amounts of damage to you.

So give a ghoul a fat man or something... that's all I need. One pop to the head and he dies... but [censored], I better not miss!

Fallout 3 was too easy, even on Very Hard, with the amazing perks. I even remember people posting how they were like gods. I am a level 30 now in New Vegas and I still find myself running from combat because of how the game is harder.

great idea for a lv 30 perk (based on a fallout 2 perk ( http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Magnetic_Personality)

Magnetic Personality (lv 30-- 80 speech & barter OR 10 charisma )

using your unique personality, charm or a handful of caps..... you can hire another companion to help you on your travels
