So where are the requirments?

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 12:02 am

Maybe I am wrong but I feel as if I heard that they were going to release the PC requirements in the first two weeks of October. Did they and am I slow? or are they not out yet?

I don't believe Bethesda ever said they'd be released in the first two weeks. But I believe Pete said on his twitter feed he was hoping to release them this week.

According to both Blizzard and Bethesda, "soon" can mean anywhere from 1 week to 8 months.

Update today from Pete on twitter, "We are still working on it and doing testing. Can't give you the day. It'll be as soon as we can give solid info."

I'm waiting so I know what sort of new system to get. This time I don't have to settle for minimum like I did with Oblivion.

No, he said they would be released this week. In fact his words (last week) were "Congratulations. PC Specs will be released next week." That's a heck of a lot different from "I'm hoping they'll be released."

I see from Dragonborn1's post below that that has changed. Once again big kudos to Bethesda's PR director. Way to get your facts straight before making announcements.

I hope with all this testing they give us a better spread than just minimum and recommended, like min, rec, and this is what you will need to max all settings at 1080p with 60FPS

LoL.

Are you serious?

It isn't rocket science to figure out one would want a upper end gaming system.
The hardware has been laying around the net for months now, it won't change much in the coming 3 months.

Oh, and good for you for not settling with the minimum this time.

To help get you started you could consider my sig a baseline to build from. If that looks too weak then just
consider it a baseline for low end and build up from that.

From my experience, the system I use is more than enough UNLESS your one of the hardcoe people who run at rez ranges
exceeding 1920x1200 and or multi monitor gaming systems. In that case, the sky is the limit.

Since I'm taking ya serious I'll toss this in. I'd not build a gaming system around the latest AMD Bulldozer.
Just saying. I'll let others flame on that if they wish.

Once the specs come out, check out the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1241366-the-community-tech-thread-no-108/, over in the Community Forum. Plenty of skilled people giving advice on hardware over there. So that you don't end up with over-expensive hardware for what you're planning to do (like an i7-2600 processor... it's good for heavy 3d modeling and science work, but gaming doesn't really use the extra cores and threads.)

All I know is that if my new computer can't run it on max or close to max settings, I'm going to be a sad panda.

You don't really need the specs, just get whatever was the best 6 months ago and you will have a good upper-middle to lower-high end PC at a reasonable cost.

This kind of ticks me off. Seriously I'm sure by now the specs are already calculated just sitting in some Word file somewhere. This really doesn't bode well for anyone is trying to make sure their PC is up-to-date. I guess we will have to sit and wait.
