Im from the Netherlands. I am currently active as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. I enjoy cooking, kyokushin, boxing, my woman - and I recently started something called CrossFit and i enjoy it very much, despite it being a somewhat despised way of training in the fitness industry. Gaming has been a long time hobby of me from as early as 5.

Im also very handsome. Just look at my profile picture. IM ON FIRE!

I'm pretty good with languages, but my favorite would be Korean. It's easy to read and write after you understand it. And, it's fun to speak. But, since you read Nietzche, I might recommend German. I would suggest that after you start learning German, that you could buy your favorite book of his in German and start to read it. It would be easier since you know the English version, and can really help. And, if you want to be different, learn a Scandanivian language like Finnish. It's very different (and has a lot of vowels), but could be fun and challenging. And, it seems that there are many forum members from Finland. Maybe you could converse with them.

Korean is an interesting language. I'm going to be learning that soon. I'm in the middle of mandarin lessons and there are a lot of comparisons between mandarin and Korean.

The military is full of avid gamers, I've been in large guilds of nothing but military people. I wouldn't try to draw any parallels to it though besides being generally normal people. I was introduced to MMO's by someone I worked with on base. The last time I was in Iraq, you could walk into the rec center at any time of the day or night and find many playing WoW or other MMO's online, along with a bunch of console single players. It is a great way to pass time when not on duty.

I must say that I also share an interest in history, especially WWII. To me, too much focus has always been on the war in Europe but I am fascinated by the dynamics of the Pacific conflict, pretty much re-creating D-Day every other month or so on a new island.

Personal Trainer, with hobbies ranging from rock climbing, mountaineering, photography, graphic design and obviously; gaming.

People from all walks of life enjoy Elder Scrolls games - generally people who like a good story.

I've been following TESO since it was announced. Im an elder scrolls fan so seeing an MMO based off their world had me intrigued and hopeful. It looks like my expectations have been paying off. Normally the USO or MWR areas (morale areas) have internet available and allow us to play games. Quite honestly the internet in my room is too slow for that ..but I am thankful to just have internet to reach out to loved ones ....and check up on ESO's progress! Quite a few gamers hail from the military ...from all ranks to. My soldiers freak out when they realize I'm a gamer to lol.

Oh, I'm learning Mandarin right now, too. I'm in my second year. I'm going on a study abroad to China this summer. Do you watch Korean dramas or listen to k-pop?

(Almost) 35 year old married mother of four, from western NY like the OP. Former teacher, now self employed. Maybe not the stereotypical gamer, but actually a pretty typical gamer afaik.

And yes to this, only six years.

I live in the UK my job is electrical engineer and I am one of three sparks that look after the systems for a government installation.Currently single with no children so I have plenty of time on my hands to pursue my hobbies. Been gaming since the ZX Spectrum era and started playing MMO's when Ultima Online was released. Racked up over 800 hours in Skyrim so far and played Oblivion three times. Never did manage to finish Morrowind but I bought it via steam when it was on offer so I intend to finish it, although I never finished the game Morrowind is the best out of the three for me.

Love RPG and strategy games more than any FPS game on the market at the moment, so my library of games are turn based rpgs and some action rpgs.

Hobbies include archery, reading, films, and listening to music along with computer games and tinkering with PC's ( I like to build my own gaming rigs.)

I dislike free to play MMO's for the fact that it is possible to spend way more than a monthly fee per week in them by doing microtransactions in the in game shop, so I would prefer a pay to play game as I know what I am expected to pay each month rather than a random amount to make the game enjoyable.

Due to my love for reading fantasy and sci-fi books I sometimes attempt to write stories of my own, although not very well I enjoy it and will sometimes put them up in a blog page.

43, Married, father of 2. I'm from England and unemployed due to MS(Not Microsoft) :) . I have played most MMOs out there and have been computer gaming for about 35 years. I love all RPGs but the elder scrolls and the fallouts are my favourites. I like reading and improving my understanding of the world but some may label me a conspiracy nutt :)

I'm 31, who is currently unemployed as part of a new years resolution to leave my retail job that made so extremely miserable and pursue college and find what makes me happy career wise. No girl, no kids. I've played games since the original Mario and was a killer at Super Mario Kart. Hobbies are writing, making MOD's (new hobby), gaming, music, walking (I could walk for hours) basketball, history (which is probably why I got pulled in by the lore of TES series) I have also loved archery since I was a kid and thinking about taking it up. I do enjoy reading but it's difficult for me to pay attention long enough and usually end up doing something else, also suffer from depression because I'm super awesome like that.

Right, I'll bite too :D

I'm 32 years old, and married for 7 months at the time of writing.
I have a degree in both electrical and mechanical engineering, specialized in robotics, but due to the Netherlands having no need of people with those professions I work as problemmanager at a Dutch telecom company.

Gaming has been a hobby since my dad brought home a Intel 80386 DX based computer (I can't for the life of me remember the complete specs, but I think it was 15 MHz normally, but when pressing the turbo button on the front of the case it'd go to 25 MHz, which was totally awesome at that time).

During my college years I've been treated for gaming addiction, as I would play diablo 2 for more than 20 hours a day. Currently, I spend my spare time playing a lot of Pathfinder (D&D 3.75), swimming and fitness and when I get the chance I like to shoot some arrows with a longbow. Boardgames are also high up on my list of things to do, but due to the length of the games we play it's usually once or twice per month in the weekend. Games preferred are Twilight Imperium 3d edition, Arkham Horror with several expansions, Civizilation (the Avalon Hill one), Pathfinder Adventure Card Game.
My wife and I have a small book collection of about 600 books, which we try to expand regularly, as we're both avid readers. Most of our collection is scify and fantasy, though there is a large collection of english literature left over from my wife's study.

My online gaming is usually one or two hours after work and in the weekends when I don't have other things scheduled, spend way too much time on Diablo 2 as stated earlier, Red Alert was a big favorite back in the day (hogging the phoneline, getting yelled at by parents and stuff), I only touched WoW for 1 hour during it's beta, then decided it'd get me addicted again and never looked at it again. Played Neverwinter Nights on a fairly good server for a long time, then in 2010 migrated to Star Trek Online and been playing that on and off because I like the IP. Tried Rift for a year with a friend. Now waiting for ESO.

Offline computer gaming includes a steam library with a lot of titles. Started with Elder Scrolls with (a pirated copy of) Morrowind, then played Oblivion (also pirated, I didn't care much at that time) and finally Skyrim. With the coming of Steam I bought a lot of games I previously pirated because it dawned on me that if I wanted to keep getting good games I'd better start paying for them .

I know your feel bro. I barely play boardgames because it just takes to long, also it need people physically in the same location. Online game breached this barrier, since everyone can play from the confort of their homes. :D

I have a fairly solid group of people that also love to play boardgames, so twice per month in the weekend we get a game on. It also helps that most of us live within like 30km of eachother, and nearly everyone in the group has a car.

interesting there seems to be lots of mature gamers here i like it.

the more mature the people the less trolls we are likely to have .

and i don`t think that the p2p method is the only reason for it , i mean wow is also p2p but it is filled with 13 YO kids who yell at and insult you for any random reason xD

i`m 21 years old was born in iran currently study in Turkey. i`m also good with languages but alas the college keeps me busy and so i can`t really learn new languages :(

i know a little bit of english-russian-persian turkish and azeri and have been trying to learn how to write japanese thorugh internet.

46 years old, father of two. German. I teach English and History. Besides playing computer games (MMOs and off-line RPGs), I play Pathfinder RPG, I play guitar in a blues band and like to read (and from time to time - very rarely - a good, old, Scottish Single Malt, cask strength).
