Back to Cyrodiil again, this time with Rayn. Since Arum is off doing his own thing, she has decided to follow suit and drop plans for the Anvil house for the time being. She sat on the roof of her shack in the Waterfront district, and watched the sunrise whilst she decided what to do. She decided to go adventuring for a while with her trusty white stallion, and went to fetch him immediately.
Here she is just outside Weye, looking at the signposts and http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Rayn4.jpg.
The start of her journey was far from peaceful, however. Choosing Leyawiin as her destination, not far along the road she came across a bandit who had murdered an altmer woman on a bridge. She dispatched him quickly, but suffered a few blows since she was not wearing her suit of mithril. She retired to a nearby camp and suited up, and was glad she did.
Later she dropped into cropsford to see a lion chasing a gaggle of helpless villagers. The lion did not seem interested in her or her skeleton summon, and it ran too fast for Rayn to catch it with her magic. She heard screams from the hills and went to investigate. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Callia_Bincal was cowering in the bushes, seemingly alone, and pointed fearfully back towards the settlement. The lion had doubled back and was busy trying to bash down the door of a house, where presumably another villager had barricaded themselves in. Rayn was able to kill it quickly and release the man inside before going back to escort Callia safely home.
There seemed to be one villager missing, however. Rayn could have sworn that she had seen the lion chase three villagers, and could only account for two. She hoped the third man hadn't been killed somewhere. It was getting too dark to search for the man, or to bring back his body if it came to that. Callia kindly offered Rayn a bed for the night, which she gratefully accepted. She hoped that the third man would arrive home safely during the night.
