Where are you now? #6

Having just reinstalled Oblivion with a full FCOM+many, many quest mods setup. My level 4 character is running to Kvatch to see just how strong the Daedra are at this point, if they prove to be too much, I'll be continuing on my way to Anvil to perhaps join the Fighters Guild.

A 7th level Varla has journeyed through the mountains to Dive Rock. After discovering Agnar's journal and reading it, she felt driven to complete the Nord's quest to rid the world of the monster that had slain hm and his wife. So she went down the mountain, and slugged it out with the beast. It was quite a brawl.

Brucevayne's Sound Sets. You can get some of them http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12588. I think there are a few more at http://www.shsforums.net/index.php?app=downloads&showcat=51&sort_by=ASC&sort_key=file_name&num=10&st=4. Most of them are voice sets taken from other games, like Baldur's Gate. The one I am using with Varla is Imoen. Viconia is another of my favorites.

Quite the battle I′d say. Lothran′s encounter with the beast was a disappointment to say the least. All it took was a fireball at 300ft and she was down.

Just reached level 20. My character must lean on conjuration, but can now summon gloom wraiths and Xivilai. But they are unarmed.

Looking for Bunny, Michelle, and Sarah.

En route to Leyawiin to do a little clean up for the Thieves' Guild, also Niamh has a yen to explore off to the East, as she has noticed a couple of places out that way, marked on her map, so it will be a trip that way afterwards at least as far as the Invisible Barrier that mysteriously prevents travel beyond Cyrodiil's borders. Niamh does not normally pray - (although she does prey) - but increasingly she feels that having a word with her creator may cause this barrier to be lifted.

We shall see.

V keeps saying she'd like to go further to the North, and indeed they might, but not yet...

Spent the past two days at the university, attending lectures and writing response essays. The rune stone lecture is actually pretty interesting. Rain or shine it seems, as well. Enchanted a bow with weaknesses, and a dagger with absorbs, but the funny thing is, after making another spell: Bound Dagger, The Movie for 120 seconds, I have not used the physical version since. Nor have I used the bow. Ranged Silence and weaknesses spell, then the fire or shock beat down. Graduated to magician, but will advance no further, if you know what I mean. :hubbahubba:

Etta has acquired a fast and deadly new horse, now that she is working directly for Lucien, so she has been able to travel more quickly from town to town, and has gotten recommendations to the Arcane University from all the Mages Guild chapters. Etta is no scholar, but she has talent in Alchemy and Alteration, and she has worked hard to learn Mysticism, and can at least cast Soul Trap now. She plans to study Enchanting at the university. She has learned how to make black soul gems, and is already thinking about whose souls will be put into them -- there are so many possibilities...

She has also begun doing work for certain Daedric lords. Sheogorath gave her a strange staff for helping him pull a prank on some stupid Khajiit villagers, and Namira gave her a very nice ring as a reward for helping to eliminate some meddlesome priests. It's all so cheerful, it's enough to make you want to go out and kill something.

Back to Cyrodiil again, this time with Rayn. Since Arum is off doing his own thing, she has decided to follow suit and drop plans for the Anvil house for the time being. She sat on the roof of her shack in the Waterfront district, and watched the sunrise whilst she decided what to do. She decided to go adventuring for a while with her trusty white stallion, and went to fetch him immediately.

Here she is just outside Weye, looking at the signposts and http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Rayn4.jpg.

The start of her journey was far from peaceful, however. Choosing Leyawiin as her destination, not far along the road she came across a bandit who had murdered an altmer woman on a bridge. She dispatched him quickly, but suffered a few blows since she was not wearing her suit of mithril. She retired to a nearby camp and suited up, and was glad she did.
Later she dropped into cropsford to see a lion chasing a gaggle of helpless villagers. The lion did not seem interested in her or her skeleton summon, and it ran too fast for Rayn to catch it with her magic. She heard screams from the hills and went to investigate. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Callia_Bincal was cowering in the bushes, seemingly alone, and pointed fearfully back towards the settlement. The lion had doubled back and was busy trying to bash down the door of a house, where presumably another villager had barricaded themselves in. Rayn was able to kill it quickly and release the man inside before going back to escort Callia safely home.

There seemed to be one villager missing, however. Rayn could have sworn that she had seen the lion chase three villagers, and could only account for two. She hoped the third man hadn't been killed somewhere. It was getting too dark to search for the man, or to bring back his body if it came to that. Callia kindly offered Rayn a bed for the night, which she gratefully accepted. She hoped that the third man would arrive home safely during the night.

My decrepit avatar and Vilja are holed up in a hole, Memorial Cave to be specific. A pointless indeavor, to my way of thinking. It matches criteria for housing a Chalice. But I'm almost positive they combed Memorial for Chalices some time ago. Almost. I supposed we should have kept notes on caves visited. Hindsight is 20/20, as they say.

Otherwise they filled their time with road patrols, tax gatherings, and mercantile deliveries in abundance. It pays the rent, but makes for dull press.

N & V are currently in Leyawiin.
There is a stolen ring - the plot of which is thickening, and some skooma dealers who may need teaching a lesson. Money is involved so Niamh is up for that.

Additionally, a visit to Silver Sky Temple just north of Leyawiin engendered a quest even further north...

Buffy and Lothran enjoyed a very fine day in Bruma and in the afternoon they both rode out in the mouintains towards Applewatch. The snow was falling and as the daylight slowly faded away, Lothran couldn′t help thinking how fortunate he is to have such a good friend :hugs:

Aww is right. Buffy agrees. She couldn't ask for a nicer or more thoughtful friend than Lothran.

Barren Mine, just off the road.
Headed North from Leyawiin. Niamh and Vilja stayed overnight at the Drunken Dragon, there were many paths off of it but they are in a hurry to meet their next deadline, so these paths will have to wait, for now at least...

Can't help but to say Awwwwwwwww

On my end, Jericho is trying to learn some magic; thankfully Raminus has been extremely patient (and has a really cute smile according to Jericho) and since Jericho is illiterate he has been orally teaching him well everything. Progress has been rather slow, although Jericho can now cast a small flare spell without setting himself on fire :D

After having returned to Tara after a breif hiatus, Tara Willow now finds herself in castle Leyawiin. She makes sure she always introduces herself to the Count/ess of the city upon entering. However, she is told that he is having trouble with an Orc named Mazoga. Does Tara want to get involved? No. Or rather, the mission driven Willow won't allow her to!

Etta has been a busy little assassin since I last posted here. She has completed five more contracts, performed services for Vaermina and Azura (in exchange for some useful goodies), and has killed a large and ugly nuisance who was blocking her way into the Shivering Isles.

One contract was particularly satisfying. Does the phrase "You get any closer and I'll turn your bones to ash!" ring a bell? He said it, and now he's lying in the road just north of Bravil.

Travel is so much more relaxing when you have a fast, unbreakable steed, who is also a worthwhile fighting companion. Nowadays Etta generally just rides past the "annoyances" on the road. Unless she feels like killing them.

@Glargg Heh, if that is who I think it is I have been wanting to give him a clonk on the noggin for quite some time!!
--
N & V have just "done" Vilverin and are about to start northwards for Cheydinhal and Bruma. Notionally they are on a quest but in reality they are simply off to explore the north for a bit. It's something V has mentioned more than once and Niamh has finally given in...

Interestingly enough, that′s where he lies in my game too! My elf was just about to do the same as Etta (out of contract though) but before he got to him an animal took him down instead. He was a little disappointed my elf, he was.

Had Etta known then what she knows now, she might have let him live, and simply walked away from the job. Her world has turned upside down, and the one person in Cyrodiil whom she had regarded as a true friend is dead. She now holds the highest living post in the Dark Brotherhood, and it's not worth a handful of dust to her. She was last seen walking into the portal to the Shivering Isles. Blessed Madness awaits, or Death.
