Where are you now? #7

It's making me want to start S.I. I dont' even have it yet. I think I would want The Grey Wizard to attempt S.I. From what I know of the game, he'd be more of Mania than a Dementia.
Being  is always more fun than being

So the girls have pleased Syl - (no, not like that - although she does have a certain something that some women might find attractive...) - and are now off to find a certain chalice for Thadn.
They've taken side trip to Fain, on the ridge overlooking Sheogorath's city. Turns out it's full of heretics at the top and Scalons at the bottom.

Problem is that N is now at the bottom whilst V is at the top, having been denied the chance to hurtle at breakneck speed down the thoroughly vertiginous descent by an over-protective Niamh. She was not happy.
She is going to be even less happy when Niamh ends up having to use the summoning spell as it always makes Vilja sick,as in properly hurling chunks sick...

Kind of a great start to the day, really...

Well the great flame is lit, for Dementia - surprisingly - there was an act of betrayal involving a last minute change of heart. The people of crucible have Cutter to thank for that. Your narrator is beginning to think that at least one of our heroines should have fairy wings and be a member of the Unseely Court for they are both fickle enough.

So now the tale ramps up apace - for The Shivering Isles, at least. There is much to do and not much time to do it in.

I said I was thinking about making a new character to do the shivering isles. Well the thought just wouldn't leave me alone so I could get some sleep, thus I ended up putting the console back on and http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Mynthel.jpg came under my care. I didn't intend to roleplay him so seriously, but he is very, very easy to read, and his story is really quite intriguing.

This isn't actually a spoiler, but just his back story. I'll probably make a thread in the fic section for him and start writing down his journey before he gets too far ahead.
Spoiler

Name- Mynthel
Race- Wood Elf (male)
Story- Mynthel was raised by goblins after being snatched as a baby. He has spent most of his life in a cave and has seen sunlight only a few times, hence his unusual appearance. (The picture doesn't show it very well but his hair is white.) Most of his life he has been haunted by dreams of butterflies and colourful skies. These butterflies started talking to him in his dreams, telling him to do things, and he went insane, murdering his goblin shaman and mounting his head on a staff. He escaped the cave and followed the butterflies to a strange doorway in the Niben bay, where he entered the Shivering Isles without a second thought. He became mesmerised by the plants and skies and wants to see more of this colourful world.

Cool story, Mara. Mynthel sounds like he's gonna be a Mania if he's in S.I. Is that right?

http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/saga.jpghair was also originally white. I mean, it had gold highlights, but out in the sunlight it still appeared white. I really wanted a "goldenrod", so I went back into the creator and tried to gold it up a little bit. Still looks pretty white, though, especially outdoors.

I think Saga is the prettiest of your characters :hubbahubba:

On topic, Lothran is still resting with his comrades in the Bruma barracks. Two cold nights in a row patrolling the town was a bit too much for his elven feet. Those guard boots aren′t particularly warm :cold:

Yep, definitely mania. He just can't get those colours out of his mind after seeing nothing but darkness for many years.

I like Lady Saga's hair. I don't think pictures can really do characters justice sometimes, they can look so different.

@mirocu: thanks mirocu. Lothran is another one who's got white hair? It looks white to me in pics...

@Lady Mara: that's the unfortunate things about cell-phone cameras. It's so hard to get a shot that works without some sort of flaw showing up. I did okay with Ann, though, in the profile pic. But even Ann looks pixellated if she's enlarged up. That's because I did a zoom close-up with her.

Oh yeah, considering we're both playing on consoles I think we've done pretty well getting any pics at all! I'm sure I've said it before but I do wish there were some sort of screen-grab option for consoles, even if I had to faff about with usb sticks to get it onto the computer to show everybody. I have to faff about with an SD card as it is

Anyway, to keep this on topic, Mynthel is eager to get into the realm of the madgod properly.

It's an alternate future, there are many paths in Niamh's Cyrodiil and that's just one of them.
Currently she is still in the Shivering Isles, and alive, and both Vilja and she are looking at a future that features both of them. What that future is has not yet been written however, and only time will tell if it ever is...

Baa is still a little off since she closed the #26 Oblivion Gate, not knowing what she should do next and was just wandering around aimlessly doing things in fits and starts. Well a couple of days ago she decided to go check out that ‘Strange Door’ place off of Bravil. Even at level 51, she had never even been close to the place, but some of her siblings had.

She didn’t remember much about the place from two or three years ago, but she did load up with 250 Elven arrows, a hundred Soul Trap arrows, and lots of the empty Soul Gems. So off she went.

Other than the night sky, it is so Morrowind in appearance. I guess it was Baa’s level 51 that made all the creatures high up - Grand or Greater for the most part. She explored around making her way to the big city, checking out half the roads and at least finding those places that showed up on her radar. Them she met the nut case guy and started on his quest. By the way, everyone you run into gives you a quest whether you want it or not.

Did a bunch of questing - main and minor. Had to go back to the Skingrad house three times fairly quickly for more arrows and soul gems. Anyway after a couple of days of Baa’s time she had a bunch of Amber and Madness Armor and weapons. She shot a lot of arrows - 150 to 200 Soul Trap and maybe 200 to 300 Elven arrows. Suffice it to say that she has enough filled Grand Soul Gems to go through a lot of Oblivion Worlds if she ever gets around to going to see Baursus at Luther Broad’s Boarding House to start the next part of the main quest.

The only thing Baa didn’t like about her adventures in the Shivering Isles was that she picked up a bunch more quest items stuck in her inventory. She already carries around with her: Ashes of Hindaril, Hand Written Note, Lithnilian’s Research notes, Echo Cave key, Falcar’s Key, Mages Guild key, Sir Amiel’s key, Filled Clossel Black Soul Gem, and Great Welkynd Stone, even though she finished a lot of those quests long ago. Now she has added Amber and Madness Ore List, and the Keys to Dementia and Mania.

Oh duhhhhh. Of course it is, I feel like such an idiot right now. I just completely forgot about the title

Mynthel has reached New Sheoth. Some Golden Saint guards escorted him most of the way and protected him from a lot of danger. He still managed to get distracted by pretty things and lose both of his guards. The last leg of the journey wasn't so bad, though he accidentally wandered into the Dementia side of the Isles, and the grey and threatening landscapes made him restless. There were no butterflies this side.

My decrepit avatar is currently on the Green a bit south of Inn of Ill Omen. It is a pleasant sunshiny midday. He is dismounted, having just disposed of a minotaur caught in the act of ambushing a traveling merchant.

He and Vilja are in the early stages of a road patrol to Leyawiin, with stops en route at Bravil and Border Watch to deliver supplies. Upon completion of the patrol they plan to cross the Niben just north of Leyawiin and travel the Yellow to Drunken Dragon Inn, there to collect taxes-due for the Council. My avatar has not yet decided on a visit to Rockmilk Cave this excursion.

I hope you weren't this short because of me. Let′s face it, you usually don′t make one-sentence posts
Oddly, discussion of entry length did come in to play when I typed that report...in a positive way. I happened to be pressed for time that day and could not have formulated a more lengthy response. My first inclination was to submit nothing at all. Then, in the spirit of conciseness, I decided that a one-sentence post might be the lesser of evils.

Having assisted in the initial liberation of the Fringe, the girls reported back to Sheogorath only to be sent off on a mission the irony of which was not lost on Vilja - (she explained irony to Niamh later, who as you should know by now, does not list a knowledge of the finer details of language as one of her strengths).
The girls are heading west again, after a brief trip to Cutter to sell some odds and ends and to pick up some repair hammers. Vilja, as usual, found some enormously interesting designs on the floor of Cutter's shop to study whilst Niamh shamelessly but once again unsuccessfully flirted with the erstwhile Smith...
...they are currently taking a shortcut through the hill of suicides, much against the better judgement of one of them.
Can you guess who?

(P.S. Niamh would like yours truly to point out that she feels she's getting a bad press here and that although V likes to come across as Lady Sensible, this is not - (increasingly) - always the case. It appears that rather more of Niamh is rubbing off onto Vilja than she would perhaps like to admit. In public, anyway)

Our heroines are heading back (again) to New Sheoth after having helped out the Aureals, it was uncomfortable for everyone concerned, what with Niamh being Duchess of Dementia and a mortal to boot. Issmi made it perfectly clear that she wasn't in the least bit impressed with the situation, but felt equally that she had no choice...
Other than that...
...Niamh, at V's behest has swapped out her facial cutlery for something a little more slimmed down - (long story) - and she would be the first to admit that she looks all the better for it, even if it did involve a special custom job from http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=41686 ...

Niamh's new piercings - (thank you Vilja): http://i798.photobucket.com/albums/yy265/bassmunkee/Oblivion/new_niamh/SI_Adventures/to_tesn_2.jpg
--
[EDIT]: A bit later...

...the girls arrive at Vitharn after having heard rumours of it whilst in Bliss. It lies in completely the wrong direction for saving the Shivering Isles but there you go.
Having got themselves in, they are now unable to get out due to Niamh insulting Count Cirion...

Having picked up the last of the materials required for the staff, Niamh and Vilja have visited an increasingly perplexed Dyus who has remade it, at least physically. It's now back to Sheogorath's Palace and to whatever lies in store there...

Well, The Shivering Isles now have a new Lord Lady. Vilja has had enough now though, as has Niamh, and it's time to get back to Cyrodiil.
--
Through the gate, but something strange...
...Niamh stepped back onto Cyrodiil soil and looked down at her body. No tattoos! Back to her own skin once again, and Vilja - just the dragon, as once before. vilja mentioned that all that remained on Niamh were the small circles on her face, around her eye.
On the whole, Niamh's happy with that... ...although puzzled. It's almost as if the portal puts parts of them back together differently. Vilja seems to think so for it made her violently sick, much like what happens when Niamh casts the summoning spell and indeed on some occasions Vilja noticed that scars that she used to have have gone after Niamh has summoned her.
It's strange, to be sure. Vilja, over food at Bravil, flatly refused to ever go near the portal again, although she did think, equally, that Niamh's skin looked much better

Time to return to normality, or what passes for it anyway...

Hears-It-All just cleared out Vilverin, following a tip-off. He got some things that he could sell for much-needed coin once he had made the short walk back to the Imperial City.

My decrepit avatar and Vilja stand in Drunken Dragon Inn, having just collected taxes-due from its proprietor. They will dine and spend the night there, Vilja no doubt complaining over the need to use her bedroll.

They spent the bulk of their day searching the Black Wood for a special ingredient for Vilja. A mighty rare ingredient, it seems. Only three ingredient-barring plants were found, and klutz that my avatar is he managed to crush them all during harvesting attempts.
