Where are you now? #8

@glargg: Reebok gro-Letis? :lol: I like that name. :)

I think Skarsgard was more concerned about the lovely http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Skarsgards%20Quest/InnofIllOmen7.jpg (Look at Skarsgard grinning all over his face! I was so lucky to take that picture at the right time!)

Daaayyum!!!! Guess Skarsgard likes to paint on ...uh...both sides of the fence, huh?

It's southwards to Bravil next. I don't think there's another wilderness inn until halfway to Leyawiin, where there's the cheese museum to explore at Border Watch.

Kewl. Looking forward to it.

Oh yes, his argument for painting both sides of the fence is really quite reasonable- it means he gets twice the attention! I can't fault his logic, since it seems to be working! The only thing he doesn't 'do' is orcs, khajiit or argonians.

Etta got herself a new pair of Boots. After returning to the Priory of the Nine, she decided to ride to Leyawiin next, to seek another object. She crossed part of the province of Elsweyr, rather than taking the long road around. She found that province strangely empty, or maybe it only seemed that way because she and Shadowmere were in such a hurry.

She got the artifact, and a fight broke out in the Chapel of Zenithar. Several strange Daedra attackers were killed. Etta has no doubt now that she must hurry and retrieve the rest of the artifacts.

Strange. Lothran has been to Skyrim a couple of times and he found that part of Tamriel pretty empty too for some mysterious reason. I really don′t understand why people want to play that game

My dear Dunmer is still in Bruma despite my talking about his pending departure to the other parts of Cyrodiil. He just doesn′t seem to want to leave! He spends a lot of time in Jerall View as it happens. I think he has a good eye to a certain miss Rosentia

Well, Lothran goes with Bruma like sweetrolls and strawberries.

After spending part of the day at a waterfall that hides the entrance to Infested Mine, Buffy and Superian are well up the northern tributary of the Brena River inside Hammerfell. They will gradually make their way southwest to Rihad on the coast to barter pelts for arrows, get a warm bath and perhaps enjoy a goblet of local wine. She’s given to understand that there are not many wood elves in Rihad. She’s looking forward to seeing the birthplace of Destri Melarg however.

My decrepit avatar, Vilja and Wolfgang have just entered Weye manor. Their mounts and Groucho are tethered outside.

Recent activities saw them depart Cheydinhal, grab new assignments in the Imperial City, travel straight to Chorrol, spend the night at its Fighters Guild Hall, restock their sales shoppe, ride south to Skingrad, continue on to Faregyl, collect taxes-due at Faregyl Inn, and return to Weye.

It is too late in the day for tax turn-in. They might visit the City anyway to dine at one of the capitols fine eateries. Tomorrow they really ought to devote time to searching for the rather rare ingredient Vilja has been asking about.

Lothran has left Bruma!

It all came so sudden. Before I knew it he had packed up his gear and was out the east gate! We said one final goodbye to Aetherius and Humilis and we were off! :twirl:
We always go the same route, down the Silver Road and then Red Ring Road to Imperial City. But this time when we came to the first junction I got a feeling he wanted to go the Orange Road to Chorrol instead. It came as a total surprise to me! He′s still in his fur clothes but has taken off the gauntlets and helmet, they are not needed now

He has taken a breather by the entrance to Glademist Cave and will continue his travels later. Nothing of note has happened so far apart from finding a shrine to Akatosh and two Legion patrollers, one without his horse

Tell Lothran to be careful along that road, it seems quiet, but it can be deadly. Back when I first met Skarsgard he made the trip along that road in the dead of night, and as he was trying to dodge an imp near a waterfall he slipped on the bank and plunged straight into the pool. His heavy armour weighed him down and a very young legion soldier who happened to be passing pulled him to safety. Skarsgard was humiliated that a mere boy had saved him from drowning, and wears his water-breathing amulet whenever he travels now, just in case. Wouldn't want Lothran to get his furs wet!

No worries. An angry Timber wolf and a Minotaur Lord was all, nothing a Warlock can′t handle ;) He also met a walking legionnaire who he tried to talk to, but he just ran away at full speed. Don′t know why as there were no more threats nearby

Speaking of the Dunmer, he now rests in The Oak and Crosier. He even rented a room for the night.

Baa and her companion have taken a room for the night at the Merchant’s Inn in the Market District of the Imperial City. They were just too tired to make it back to the house in Skingrad after what seemed like an all day fight closing the Great Gate, Paradise, and the final fight in the IC ending the Main Quest. Baa doesn’t want to do that again for a long while - like years.

Baa closed 60 gates total and was getting kind of strung out around #55, but she persevered and did them all, including the city gates. Those extra troops from the cities really help while waiting for the Great Gate to open. (Martin showed up wearing a helmet and a green robe!) Plus, after it was all over I got to pick up a Cuirass from all the cities except Cheydinhal. Lots a KIAs - only Martin and one Bruma soldier went back up the hill afterward. Baa used 25 or 30 heavy duty poisons on her arrows waiting for the Great Gate to open.

Baa’s companion disappeared twice in the process. She never enter the Great Gate, and she did not return when Paradise collapsed, so I did the clean game save thing and recruited her again - twice, before moving on.

Stats: Hours 1276, Quests 129, Fame 186, Largest Bounty 0, Creatures 7563, People 3702, Places 400, Souls 1318, Potions 3372, Gates 60, Nirnroots 230, Houses 8, Gold 15,121,217.

Baa wound up with 44 spare Sigil Stones, 31 of which are Shield 20%. It takes longer to get the Sigil Stone you want than it does to close the gate, sometimes 3 or 4 times as long.

Marc Frau is resting at the Arcane University after being ambushed by 3 Mythic Dawn Agents in the Market District. I just came out of Rindir's Staves and heard a female voice saying "whos there?" as if searching for an enemy and suddenly two agents attacked me near the door to the Elven Gardens District. After dealing with them I headed to the Main Ingredient to sell some stuff only to be attacked by Ulen Athram near the door to the Arena District.

Tmar, this is gonna sound really really weird, but this past weekend I had bits of insomnia. Kept falling asleep and waking up Saturday night/Sunday morning. And I swear I "met" your character Baa. I don't remember much of our time together, nor do I remember what she looked like. Matter of fact, I don't think I ever saw her face, she had a dark hood on. I went on a bit of a journey with Baa thru some treacherous area up in the mountains, and we came to some sort of trap door. But like I said, i don't remember much. It was like a bunch of broken half-dreams  or something.

Weird, huh?

Deleted my save with over 400 hours..

Why?

Etta is resting and recovering at the Priory of the Nine. She's still somewhat confused about the fight with Umaril. She may never understand fully how she can now be alive, because it seemed that she must have died in the fall. Something certainly died. Something is lifted away, gone. Etta has no anger left.

Reebok gro-Letis is on the road to Cheydinhal. He was told to report there for assignment, after joining the Fighters Guild in Chorrol. Before leaving Chorrol, he met a friendly young Argonian named Dar-Ma, and was accosted by a very drunk Breton. The latter, upon hearing that Reebok was bound for Cheydinhal, pressed money on him for some vague assignment involving an imposter or some such. Reebok doubted very much that anything would come of it.

While on the road, Reebok has encountered several bandits and highwaymen, and numerous wolves and other wildlife. Passing by the small village of Aleswell, he was shocked to see a hoe working a garden, with nobody there, and to hear voices coming from thin air. Reebok left quickly, sure that the place must be haunted. He didn't stop running until he reached the bottom of the hill, and only stopped there because a wolf had attacked him and was chewing on his left leg.

Why?
I honestly could not find a single use for the character. I was maxed in everything and I triple-checked UESP and other sites for quests I may have missed and found nothing else to do.

My decrepit avatar is about to exit Gottshaw Inn, where he and the gang traveled to collect taxes-due. Vilja, Wolfgang, Groucho and their mounts wait outside.

They have been quite active between reports. Several days were devoted almost exclusively to tracking down ingredients for Vilja. The highlight of this period occurred as my avatar left Weye Manor that second morning, en route to the Arcane University gardens. Much to his surprise, their home was surrounded by villagers, guards and even a few patrolling legionnaires, many with weapons drawn. It seems an intruder had scaled the building just after my avatar had departed his third floor private balcony, where he had taken breakfast. My avatar rushed back inside, up the several flights of stairs, into his bedroom, and onto the balcony. Their it was, an assassin all in glass.

Despite being in his robes (as befitting an arch mage's visit to the University) my avatar drew weapon and prepared to assault the villain. Just then a Manor guard burst through the door and attacked the assassin. In the blink of an eye both guard and assassin had vanished through the door. My avatar followed. The rest of the encounter is something of a blur, so frenetic were the actions of those involved. The assassin led a merry chase, swiftly popping in and out of various rooms as he dodged an ever increasing number of adversaries. By this time the Manor was filling with well intentioned help. It was only a matter of time before the assassin was brought to bay.

So it came to pass. The assassin foolishly attempted to escape via the crowded first floor foyer and there, on the stairwell, expired. Not, sad to say, before felling a villager whose eagerness placed him in harm's way. Thankfully my avatar was on the spot. As Divine Crusader he called upon the blessings of the Nine to revive the fellow before his soul departed to the spirit realm. All's well that ends well.

My avatar allows himself only so much time for personal affairs between patrol and tax-gathering assignments. Next morning they left their Weye abode at first light to gather patrol and mercantile delivery commission in the capitol, then departed for Bruma. This was your standand mundane patrol. Circle the Imperial City via Perimeter Road, leave the Isle via its North Bridge, travel the Silver north to Bruma. Same old same old. And yet...

...And yet this particular patrol assumes a spot amongst to highlights of my current play-through. Not for anything unique or unusual that occurred. They faced the same assortment of Ogres and outlaws as always. It was the quality of execution that makes this patrol stick out far above the norm. Every encounter came off like a well rehearsed play or film. Not a single actor put one foot out of line. My avatar, Vilja and Wolfgang coordinated their combined attacks to perfection. Their foes behaved like proper, thinking adversaries. Everything came off so well I began quietly cheering everyone on -- foes included -- during the final few fights. Did I mention it was one of those stunningly beautiful Nirn-days so beloved by my avatar and myself?

They returned to Weye that same day, slept in the Manor, grabbed new assignments early next morning, patrolled the Gold to Skingrad, then continued on to Gottshaw. I must sadly report that the trek from Skingrad to Gottshaw came off rather poorly from an immersionistic standpoint. Quite a letdown after their previous days' adventures. Ya win some. Ya lose some.

Well, Baa enjoyed your company while we were together, but I think you may have been having a nightmare, or maybe you’re playing too much Oblivion. But Baa will keep a lookout for you in case we meet again. That’s her in my avatar, but she is not usually dressed in armor, as a matter of fact, she doesn’t wear much of anything - so she should be easy to recognize. Be sure and bring your bow next time, and we’ll do a little practice.

Skarsgard finally moved on to Bravil. He arrived mid-morning, hungover and with barely any sleep. Needless to say, he was outraged when he got to http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Skarsgards%20Quest/SilverhomeontheWater1.jpg and the proprietor tried to charge him 20 gold for a bed for the morning! Storming out, Skarsgard went to the Lonely Suitor Lodge instead and got a bed for the whole day and night for 10 gold.

He slept until 6pm, changed his clothes then he reluctantly went back to the Silverhome for an evening meal. It wasn't bad, and there were a few interesting people to talk to. 2.5 out of 5 for the SIlverhome. It would have been 3 if the proprietor had a wider selection of drinks and hadn't been so greedy about the money.
After the meal he went back to http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Skarsgards%20Quest/TheLonelySuitorLodge1.jpg He took it easy this evening, having lots of conversations instead of lots of alcohol. There were two women but neither wanted to know, and he didn't really fancy them anyway, so he had a nice http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l528/Lady-Mara-2/Skarsgards%20Quest/TheLonelySuitorLodge3.jpg instead. He got an early night and looked at his map to locate the next inn. 3/5 for The Lonely Suitor Lodge.

Okay, makes sense. This is kinda like my Grey Wizard character. Not that he maxed all his stats, but after finishing MG and MQ there was not much else for him to do. I didn't kill his game saves, though. He just lives peacefully in the Arcane Uni.

Thanks. No, it wasn't a nightmare. I wish it were a little more vivid, though. I can never remember my TES dreams very well for some reason, but I do have some very vivid Earth-based dreams from time to time.

Skarsgard finally moved on to Bravil...

Chorrol, evening time

After heading to the Imperial City to off-load his gear, Lothran went back to Chorrol as he wanted to stay there some more. The area around the town, particularly at the north gate, is very beautiful and he can still feel the cold wind coming from the north.

He went through the woods instead of taking the road and just before connecting to the Orange Road he heard the sounds of fighting so he rushed to see what it was. An Imperial Legion soldier was fighting a bandit and he was winning. Lothran still wanted to help out so he quickly launched his Natural Disaster spell at the bandit. "Quite the overkill to use that spell", he thought to himself, but better safe than sorry.

Upon entering the town the hours had grown late and he decided to rest inside The Oak and Crosier again. His body is perhaps in a warmer climate now but his mind is still lingering in his hometown, high up in the Jeralls...

Tara is currently at the Arcane University studying to become a fully fledged mage. Tara didn't intend to furthur her education within the guild, but her good friend Delphine has promised her that should she graduate the University she will invent and teach Tara a spell just for her; an offer that Tara couldn't refuse.

Oh I hope Tara gets fully fledged! Delphine is pure awesomesauce and I'm sure the spell she teaches Tara will be well worth it. Perhaps something like 'Buildings Blowup' or such. I hope Willow is being cooperative and not creating magical mischief that Tara gets blamed for. :wavey:

Aerin entered Cyrodiil just over a week ago (game-time), thanks to a wonderful mod known as 'Alternative Start by Ship'. He's an Imperial Mage, born and raised in High Rock, and arrived in Anvil with the eventual aim of making it to the Imperial City and gaining admittance to the Arcane University.

For the past week-and-a-bit, he's been wandering Cyrodiil, earning Mages Guild recommendations and gold as he goes. Today he finally arrived in the Imperial City, and took his place in the Arcane University. He's just returned from Wellspring Cave, and is passing the time in the Mystic Archives while he waits for his Mage's Staff to be enchanted.
