There are a few deposits in Fort Frostmoth, although that's quest related. You could also try the Reaver camp not far from Raven Rock - north of the ruined shack, I believe.

I mined about 10 in the first 30 mins of being there. lots of ore deposits lying around on the ash side of the island.

there is one deposit right behind the stewards shroom at the tel mith place.

They're everywhere. I have like 30+ sitting around that I don't even need.

A big deposit is in the abandoned shack (it has a marker) just south of fort frostmoth, another smallish deposit is near the abandoned shack (it has a marker too) with

, but I can't give you a direction: it has a tent, a cart and a gold deposit too, so if you look hard enough you'll see it.
