Just tag it in the search and you'll get a notification every time you find a piece of scrap that contains it. Pretty handy.

also if you have scrapper you can get it from most laser/plasma type weapons

Try to search wiki on 'circuitry'. There are at least 18 things you can scrap and some traders sells shipments.

Military-grade circuit boards are in most Forts, satellite and other military posts..

they yield alot "circuitry" pieces.

Scrapper perk makes Institute weapons the best source of the 'hi-tech' components - circuitry, crystal, fiberoptics, etc.

But in a pinch, the Robotics Disposal Ground east of Sanctuary has a couple of respawning Mil-Grade Circuit Boards, completely unguarded.

Circuitry! Bah. Easy! Crystal - sheesh. Unless you buy it, of course. And don't get me started on adhesive. Never have enough and I have hundreds of tato, corn and muttfruit plants.

What am I doing with all of it?

Everywhere. Like most materials in this game. Telephones, hot plates, circuit boards, enhanced targeting cards. The latter two fairly common in turrets and robots. All you have to do is mark the component and it basically comes to you as you play.

When you get enough caps buying it is probably the most painless way. Every day I collect my Purified Water from Sanctuary and Starlight, then go round to Goodneighbour and Diamond City to purchase all the copper and ceramic I can, then head to one of my settlements to do electrical work. I must have had tons of ceramic and copper by now and I'm still not done with my electrical work, so I know how it feels!
