Where did my mods go?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:56 pm

I started up Oblivion right now, and I find out that some features won't work.
So, I open Wrye Bash and look at my modlist. Half of my mods are gone. All om my merged mods, and some of the ones that was not merged (I think). The bashed patch shows no missing mods. The mods are just simply gone. :unsure2:
Where did they go? They are not in my data folder.

The last modding I did was installing All Natural with OBMM, and then merging the interchange file with my bashed patch.

The last time I played was tuesday evening, that would be about 10-11 hours ago. Everything worked fine then.

I've not turned off the PC since last time I played, but the PC has been in sleep mode most of the night.

I don't know if any of this may have deleted my files.
Anyone know what might have happened? Anyone had a similar thing happening? Any way to get my files back, or are they permanently gone so I'll have to reinstall?

Do you use Wrye Bash? If not, you should.
The game engine has strange things happen when there are about 400 bsa's, esm's, and esp's in the data folder.
Ghosting reduces this limit by renaming inactive esp's and esm's so the engine will ignore them.

Did you maybe log in under a different user account that had a different set of permissions than your own account? Vista, 7.

Previously, accidentally opening 2 instances of Wrye Bsh at the same time caused this for me, but they have this fixed in the newer versions of WB..
