Where did they spend their time?

I'm curious, where exactly hast he time been spent on this game in development? It seems like it was started to be made last year or something from the amount of content that is in the game, and all the bugs.

So I dont know.. I'd love to know if the developers has said anything about it, becouse it can't have been on the maps(8) or the single player (Which is barely there) or modes (Which there are like.. What 2? Challenges and objectives) I'd figured if all of that was little, more time was spent on fixing bugs and tweaking up the game, but even that seems to be sub par.. So .. Where did the time and money go into exactly?

Honestly.. No clue. Maybe working on N.S.S.M.A.C.T (Not So Smooth Movement Across Clunky Terrain)

Or maybe they we determining just how long the characters faces should be, or they just spent all there time staring at the awesome UI... Who knows.

Technology changes every 2 1/2 years as does game design. Developers have to use 2-year development cycles.

2 years to make this dosnt seem entirely right.. And I also dont belive what you say there is true, technology can only move so far when you got the hardware of the consoles to limit yourself to, there are technology boosts out there (DX11) That barely see the light of day becouse of it.

Team fortress took something like 10 yrs to develop/plan.. even HL2 took a lot longer than 2 years so that isn't true. good games take a lot longer than 2 yrs to whip up.

Most people don't seem to realize how much time and effort goes in to making games for this generation. Just for making one weapon it may take an artist about 2 weeks to completely model and texture it, and that's an experienced artist working 8 hours a day for 5 days a week, perhaps more. Then there's the coding side of things and the actual designing. I was personally happy with how Brink turned out. It was a bit different than what I expected, but I didn't get this game for the single player that's for sure.

What people aren't realizing is that there are studios who are taking the effort to make games for this generation and doing a professional job at it. It's not like they're doing it for free either. They're accepting money and are not responsible for the refunds and resales. In this day and age, when you try to step in and be daring you better damn well be sure about what you are doing or deal with backlash for trying to be different and misfiring. Game developing is a big boy sport on par with movie production. Crappy movies don't get pats on the back for trying.
